PoliticsRe: Can Nigeria Be A Much Better Place Without ? by PTH(m): 3:13am On Aug 21, 2007
BABEELOVE:
I don't think so. It is more about the type of people or mindset we have as nigerians than what resources we have. The inablity to manage ourselves well. Too many things divding us and keeping us unfocussed. Prone to self-destruction. Too much fighting and lack of tolerance and love for one another!

does not matter what we have---it is whom we are that matters!
this is pure nonsense! Nigeria was one of the fastest growing economies in the world in 1963 (faster than Japan, China and Malaysia) when oil exploration was still in its infancy. Where we not divided then? What kind of magical mindset did we suddenly develop that has kept us back? Was the west not burning in the same 1963? And yet we were able to build world class facilities like the University college Hospital, Ibadan!
When dumb people contribute to topics they know nothing about they end up shooting themselves in the foot.

BABEELOVE:
I say look again. I think you are heading south of the border with your thoughts. Saudi Arabia and Emirates also dicovered oil once upon a time too. Other countries do not have a tenth of what you say we have and have still managed to move up the food chain. So think again my friend. It is the curse of the skin color me thinks.
Perhaps it is your own skin that is cursed. Botswana is not ruled by white people, it has a GDP of $11,400.
PoliticsRe: Wallowing In Ignorance by PTH(m): 3:05am On Aug 21, 2007
Debo, you hit right at the heart of the matter. It is only deluded individuals who see the problem as being purely that of attitude.

Oil was not discovered until 1958, did these same states not sustain themselves? Oil has made us lazy, since the mistake of unifying the nation in 1966 our groundnut pyramids have disappeared, oil palm production has gone to Malaysia, our rubber plantations in Ikenne lie waste, the solid minerals sector is fully in the hands of illegal miners . . . all because our leaders cant be bothered to do no more than sit and keep tabs on the number of barrels of oil sold per day!
PoliticsRe: Wallowing In Ignorance by PTH(m): 2:51am On Aug 21, 2007
If Ono will permit me to take a stab at his questions:

1. Who are these people preventing Nigerians from running the regions as autonomous entities? - As long as the regions remain a unitary state fraudulently refered to as a federation, those who sit at the helm of affairs have unlimited access to the public purse. Imagine if we were autonomous, the likes of Yerima wont have unearned oil resources to have the luxury of declaring sharia in their dirt poor and resourceless states.
2. What do they stand to gain by doing so? - Free oil money
3. Is there any way out? - An full and independent overhaul of the constitution.

na no beef. abi you only have an axe to grind with someone who exists not so? Militia as far as i'm concerned with her childish habit of putting up psuedonyms to make noise all over the forum is what gets on my nerves. Pretty decent threads that she had no hand in putting up and she suddenly appears and ruins it with her desperately miserable attempt to sound funny.

925 makes a good point. But here is my question as regards his post, is it possible to have a system fall down from heaven? The Americans today owe their system we so much praise to the few men who sat down in one room and drafted the destiny of this great country more than 300 yrs ago.

It is such leaders, the type who can seflessly take it upon themselves to right the wrongs and ensure a future for us that we lack. What is the difference between 1961 Nigeria and 2007 Nigeria? simple, we had men with foresight, today we have men who cant see beyond their noses.

lol you really want to know who an empty barrel is? Go through the immature, childish and inane rants of fools like babyglow, babeelove, militia and co.

Now even an empty barrel would be displeased to be equated with such a one with cotton wool between the ears.

i BEG TO DIFFER.

Henin's backhand is the best shot in tennis right now.

A thing of beauty
How come she doesnt use it so consistently? Seen Fed's backhand down the line winners? A thing of priceless legacy!
SportsRe: Tennis: Cincinnati Masters by PTH(m): 5:44pm On Aug 20, 2007
doyin13:
You know I actually think Henin has a better backhand than Fed.

Her timing on that shot is immaculate
No one rips a better backhand than the Fed. He is just more error prone.
SportsRe: Tennis: Cincinnati Masters by PTH(m): 5:05pm On Aug 20, 2007
doyin13:
Especially on the backhand side where Fed struggles to cope with the ball high.
You got that right. Anytime you play a flat shot to Fed's backhand, he just rips a wicked ball on the line. For Nadal he cant, he ends up setting his backhand up for an outright winner or putting it out of play all together.
SportsRe: Tennis: Cincinnati Masters by PTH(m): 4:57pm On Aug 20, 2007
Blake's semifinal win over Davydenko the day before took too much out of him to be able to give the Fed any real challenge. you cant beat the Fed playing flat shots. Plenty of topspin, that is why Fed suffers when he plays Nadal.

RomanceRe: My Boyfriend Still Has Feelings For His Ex by PTH(m): 4:35pm On Aug 20, 2007
maybe you're meeting the wrong men. There's nothing inherently wrong with broken relationships, not all of us will be lucky to meet one person and have it end in marriage.

Set a standard, make sure you both know your expectations of the impending relationship before you jump into it, that way you have a clear understanding of what he is thinking and what his future for u is. Gone are the days when we just saw a fine girl and asked her out right away. Everyone is looking out for where his interests are best served now.

Its not being malicious, its the truth. The red flag that Uyai failed to see was when the guy mentioned that infidelity might be a problem. C'mon, if that did not cause you to raise eyebrows then what will? What man goes into a relationship telling you he is likely to cheat on you in the future and you blindly follow him?
The handwriting was on a wall a long time ago, you just didnt read them.

The more you call him the more you swing the balance of power in his favour.

Thanks very much for your extensive insight into this mess. I really do appreciate it. i'll do as you say and even more. I'm not in love with him though, but that doesn't stop me from hurting a little bit. I know i'll be fine. time is a great healer. i just hope i don't make anymore mistakes. And I'm DEFINITELY DONE with NIGERIAN guys. Well, at least for now
lol the usual comical conclusion based on isolated experiences. Who told you American men are better? you did not even love him in the first place so somewhere along the line you would have hurt him too.
Nigerian girls na wa. Sometimes you wonder why you even bother.

SwtNsoFLyy:

Good for you, but no he is not mad at you, contrary to what his actions are indicating. what he is doing right now, is playing a 'mind game' with you dear sista , meaning, he is trying to make you WANT him more, by not responding to you, when in fact he is clearly showing that he cares for the other girl more. Theres no sugar coating it from a woman of experience,
Not really, speaking from a guys perspective the fellow has achieved what he wanted all along by a stroke of genius. He has successfully offloaded poor old Uyai while shifting the guilt on her shoulders. I call that a masterstroke!

cool cool cool
No i do not work there. I guess my question is straightforward, what is the essense of posting here really? There are millions of young men in Nigeria seeking virgins  which makes it slightly suspicious that you would put up a thread looking for men on a website. Unless of course it is the oft used ploy of trying to snag a vulnerable fella with the most important criteria - that he lives abroad!

I noticed you've already started asking for phone numbers, of course solely from those who identify themselves as living abroad.
