The validity of your passport and the period you did your biometrics determines the duration of your visa.

For example if your passport will expire in 2033 and you just did your biometrics this year you will get 10 yrs.

If your passport will expire in 2025 and you did biometrics this year you will get two yrs

If you did biometrics 6 yrs ago and you have a new 10 yrs passport you will only get 4 yrs because biometrics will expire then since it's valid for 10 yrs
So they issue based on which ever comes first .
Secondly, t's okay to change your mind about how long you want to stay but I will advise it should not be more than one month, since you plan to make multiple entries .
it's assumed that if you have something doing like a job or business in Naija why would you leave it and come and stay in Canada for months .

You can always change your return ticket when you are already inside .

I would advise you transfer money from your business to your salary acct for at least 4 months if you can do 6 months great .

I also run my business and that's what I did . I used a 4 months statement .

They are of the opinion that corporate account is not for you alone but your business with other stake holders so using it alone for vacation can be questionable especially if it's not heavily funded .

Secondly using a salary account also saves you the stress of explaining lump sum and providing evidence to back it up.

I saw someone today , he told the security guy that he was going to pay for walk in , I think he called it vip or something and they allowed him in. The other security guy asked him if he was aware of the cost and he said Yes .

It depends, if it's for a student visa it's minimum of 28 days .
If it's visitors visa it's 6 months , however there has been cases people used 3 or 4 months and they still got their visas .
I usually use 6 months statement .

If you feel you are now eligible or have addressed the reason for your refusal . You can apply but ensure you declare your refusal . Don't lie about it

I got 2 emails yesterday as well ..so I am guessing they work during Public holiday or the mails are automated when one gets to a certain stage

After submission .you will get a letter to do your biometrics within 30 days on the date on the letter
, go to the vfs website to book your appointment, you will see the available dates in their calendar

You will need to go to the probate registry in the state the properties are located to apply for a letter of Administration. Pay for form and a file will be created for you after you have provided all the docs of the properties and your ID cards .( You and your bro )
You will also need to go there with your gurantors with their ID cards , the probate will let you know when it's time for this .

It's a long process especially if the properties are in a place like Lagos or Abuja. It could take up to year or even more .

You will be required to collect the original death certificate issued by the govt using the one given to you in the hospital she passed
The probate court will also put a notice in the newspaper for a number of days , if no one comes out to contest it then they will proceed .

The properties will be valued by the probate"s
Estate valuer and you will be required to pay a certain amount .
Some states charge a flat rate , some charge a percentage of the valued property.

Some people use a lawyer to get this done but a lawyer can not make the process move faster .

It's advisable that you and.your bro gets this done .

The only way you can bypass this process is if you are selling the property to someone that is well known to you and he is aware that your mum left the properties, then the person can buy it , but he won't still he able to do a change of name ..

Courier service can't be for 3 days for send and receive . He was responding to my question on in person submission and collection.

I believe since two courier companies are involved for locations outside Lagos and Abuja . It may take about 7-10 days all things being equal .

His card will be charged , usually when you book a hotel , even though it's free cancellation, but usually some will charge you 24-48 hrs before arrival or even more .but it will be specified at the time of booking .

Since you already paid you can as well do it if they send you a biometrics collection letter because it may affect the validity of your visa .

Please if someone did drop box and was given a 221g to attend an interview and the visa was issued .

When applying in another embassy , is she to declare that as a refusal ?

My children's passport were collected but was given back when receiving the new one . This was.in Dec2022 and Jan 2023.
Perhaps they do now .

Remember they used to stamp cancelled without prejudice and they stopped , perhaps they do it on the system now .

To be honest , I personally think they have a quota to meet up and once they do, they may suspend for a while unless it's super visas .
If you recall Canada visitors visas could take years now people without family or friends are being issued visas 4-6 weeks after biometrics .

Same way the US woke up one day to say some countries were no longer eligible to apply for the DV lottery and the UK decided that effective Jan 2024 unless for research courses , students can't come with dependants .
I THINK Canada won't stop issuing visits visas but they will likely go back to the old way . Especially as so many people are considering using the visitors visas for long stays . Already it's already affecting housing .
I am sure the number of people that applied for visitors and student permits in the last 3 yrs has tripped .
Let everyone stay focused and do what they need to do asap.

Check CAC status online for your company , if it's inactive , you need to pay your annual returns and ensure it's active before you reapply . A lot of people have been refused visas because of this .

Card payment didn't go through as well but I did a book on hold and I got an email with their bank details . I transfered to the GTB account quoting my reference number as remark and my ticket was sent by email immediately.

The transit visa has to be from Netherland .
Except you get a Schengen visa from France or any other embassy but for you to use it through Netherlands it must have 'C written on it .

Updated one . It can be more than the 28days as long as the lump sum is not showing .

I would cover the entire period of my application and the date to submit the new statement or the day before.

He has to declare it , that's recipe for refusal . There was someone here that was denied a Canada visa once even though he was eventually issued when he re- applied ..when he wanted to apply for a study permit he only mentioned the refusal from another country and didn't see the need to mention Canada since he eventually got one back then, he was refused . He had to write an emotional mail .appealing to them that it was an over sight and it was eventually approved.

People with refusals from different countries still get issued visas . Always best to tell the truth . The 5 eyes countries share immigration data.

I think if you were not asked if you were denied us visa before you are good to go,beside you have already visited the US before,I remember when I was filling my application they request for a proof of my current US visa which I provided,you have a rich travelling experience you can go ahead and apply

If you have not done your biometrics , take the doc with you and pay 12k for assisted service , they will help you upload it . But if you have done so, it's to pray for favour , there have been cases people are asked for additional docs .
