I would use the additional information section.

quote author=Globalshaper post=124920589]Please can someone advise on this:

I want to clarify the following during my visa application.

- Scholarship and an extra deposit made after CAS was received.
- Explanation of study gap
- Change of name

Is it better to include these explanation in the "Additional Information" section of the form or should I write a cover letter to explain them?
He will get it back he has enough time , the moment he uses it they won't know his intentions after he has travelled .

I dropped off mine at abt 2.40pm on the 17th of July and got a call that it was ready for collection at about 10.05am on the 19th of July .

Quote author=Lamide123 post=124889944]

Thank you. He is afraid to take it back because he is scheduled to travel on the 15 of August, and he doesn't think he will get back the passport before his travel date on 15 of August. He bought his ticket already and is nonrefundable.

Can he travel now and alert them when he gets back in September?
What else were you expecting to be there ? In time past you would have seen the brp letter but they send it by mail now .. what you need is just the vignette on your passport and you have it . So all is well

quote author=afrolegend post=124888532]Good evening Duchess and other gurus.

I need clarification.

Who got visa recently?

The visa me and my wife got was just a page of passport stamped having the uk entry clearance, and enclosed inside a small gray colour strap bag.

Thought other packaged document should come with it.

Although we got a BRP mail advise.

Just want to know if others are the same.

Thank you.
My daughter applied for a 2 yrs visa and got a collection mail today but she is yet to pick up her passport . She did her biometrics on the 17th of July .
I sincerely hope no error will be made cos it appears they have been making errors of late .

I paid for 10 yrs and 6 months was issued even though another one was printed when I returned it .
The influx of student visa applications may be causing this, I would advise everyone waiting for collection to check their passports before they leave the TLS office .
Lamide123:
Please, I need advice on an urgent matter.

My brother applied for a 6-month UK visa around mid-July as a first-timer. He picked up his passport today, but the duration on the visa vignette affixed to his passport is more than the six months he paid for. The visa runs from September 2023 to September 2025.

Do you guys think he should inform UKVI or he should stay silent and continue to use it? Has this happened to anyone before?

Do you guys think they will discover this later?

He will need to go back to the TLS office with the first page of his document check list and his passport on Monday .

There are 3 possible outcomes

1. They cancel it and print him the 6 months vignette .
2. Ask him to pay the difference .
3. Give him free .

If he decides to keep it and not take it back , if it was a printing error , the system may show it's expired after the 6 months expires. Usually at the point of entry , they check the vignette and also.scam the passport .

If that's the only reason that was a concern and you have addressed it then you can go ahead if you feel you really need to travel . I would wait .
I hope you know you will still have a lump sum showing on your fcmb acct , don't know if it matters since it's from your other account but you may wish to explain the source if you still want to apply now
Saving in am acct for visa purposes does not mean you can't withdraw , just ensure the expenses are not so much so that it does not affect your disposable income .

quote author=Jayyjay post=124839649]Thank you for responding. I asked because the issue for denial raised by ECO has changed, I was denied because my funds were in a virtual foreign account not a bank and I am now using a fcmb dom account that now has all the funds in the previous account with June and July's salary.
2. Is it a red flag if I haven't been withdrawing from the account as I have been saving my salary since May?

When are you uploading your documents ? As long as it's within 31 days after it was printed you are good to go, if not you may have to ask him for another .

I can only answer part of your number 2 question

You can ask your daughter to get a letter of introduction from her school and you can also attach recent school fees receipts , this will show ties that she won't abandon her studies

Denov:
I am a masters student in the UK. I started my program in September 2022 and it will end may 2024, but my visa is for two years till september 2024. i applied for my 10 year old son as a dependant. He was granted visa, but couldn't come to the UK due to circumstances beyond our control. I want to apply for his vignette stamping again since the 90 days has expired. I also want to apply for tourist visa for my 19 years old daughter who is in final year in a Nigerian university at the moment, to come and visit. That is for both of them to come together. I seek advise on the following;
1. How much POF do i need for both of them and for how long?
2. what can i use to support the application?
Thank you for any advice will be appreciated

UPDATE!!!

The 6 months visa was crossed off and a new one was issued which will expire Sept 2033.

Ii am so thankful to God and I also want to thank everyone here for all their inputs , it helped me a great deal when applying for my visa .

Standard visitors Visa

Biometrics - 5th July
Collection mail- 13th July
Passport collected - 17th July
Passport retuned - 17th July ( cos of the 6 months validity)
Collection call - 19th July
Passport pick up- 1st August

I didn't go and collect immediately I received the call because I was not in town and I also didn't think it was changed because i felt it was too soon for it to be approved or corrected . I was already planning to send a complaint mail today as someone here had advised with the hope that something else could still be done if escalated .
I am so grateful to God as it would have been too painful to lose so much money .

Thanks again and God bless you all.

Wow!!!
Where will he need to mention it? Is it one of those Yes or No questions towards the end of the forms or a cover or letter of explanation.

quote author=giselle237 post=124772805] He must refer to his overstay. Any period of illegality or staying without valid leave or visa refusal should not be hidden. Someone overstayed 20 years ago in 2000 and just last month didn’t fill it on his form. He didn’t remember and must have dropped his information somewhere because there was no fingerprinting then. He has just received his visa decision with a fresh 10 years ban. This is now 30 years of kissing UK goodbye and I trust it will be for life.
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by puffmama: 2:14pm On Jul 30, 2023
Even if you were banned which you were not , I think it's worth trying . You can apply for 6 months and add all supporting docs.
There is a question Abt if you have been in the UK in the last 10 years, since your answer is No, there won't be a need to refer to your overstay .

JSayin:
Hi. I'd appreciate any responses from people who share this experience.

I overstayed my UK Study visa and voluntarily returned in 2013. I am being invited for a book promotion tour in Sept as well as a friend's wedding.

Some people say that because it's been 10 years, I can apply and my visa may be considered. Others say it is mission impossible and the Home Office will never reconsider an overstayer.

Kindly let me know any real-life examples you have seen of anyone who overstayed. Were their future visas ever approved or not?

Thank you.

Have you checked that TLS page ,the page that has your appointment date, track , upload etc
Click on upload and upload your docs ..or is that where you submitted ? I doubt because it's supposed to take you to your summary page and ask you to confirm submission .

How much is your sch fees ? How much deposit have you made?.add the balance to your living expenses , add some extra to accomodate the fluctuations in exchange rate .

If the 30M can cover the above then it's not fone for it to be your opening balance

quote author=Luada post=124723621]Please is 30m enough for proof of funds and another question, if I transfer the 30m for example on 31 august to an account and start counting my from 1 September with an opening balance of 30m is it bad
Did you say 10 months ?
Maybe he previously had a visitors Visa that was valid .
Even MA can't go earlier than a month before her course starts

quote author=Ekababbe post=124706957]

When you put your start and end date , you will get the right amount you are to pay . Because of the fluctuations in exchange rate , it's not advisable to just use what someone else used to avoid the issue of under or over payment .

Good evening everyone , after choosing a date for appointment, how many times is one allowed to reschedule without having to pay another fees .
Is it once or twice ?
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by puffmama: 3:56pm On Jul 18, 2023
If the agents falsified docs he would not want the parents know he goofed.

Please how long after you did your biometrics for the Schghen visa did you pick up your passport.

Blessedsteph:
I am quite surprised. Don’t know the full story as the mum says she didn’t see the refusal letter then.
It would have helped to know on what ground a child was banned.

[Thank you so much .I will keep checking to see if I can find a Aug date and reschedule if not will go on the 1st and pray all goes well .

quote author=yerilistik post=124486058]

I would risk it and go ahead with the scheduled dates because France processes thier visa applications faster than UK and in most cases you get your passport back within 10 days. But i will not opt for courrier delivery because that may disappoint. Just have to be prepared at all times to quickly dash to the VSF to retrieve your passport once you get the alert that passport is ready.
The courrier delivery is a 2 way thing : you may be lucky to have them deliver it the next day but some people have been unlucky to no get thier passports delivered even after 3 days or more.
1. The bank will give you the acct number for the card .

2.You will use transfer to own acct . Select from your dollar acct and move to the dollar card acct .

3. Yes you can pay cash into your Dom acct
That's all

quote author=Cashmadam post=124492763]

I have a few questions as I plan to use my GTB card soon (I used another bank in the past):

1. How do you get the account number for the card account? I only got the dom account number
2. How do you move the funds from the dom account to the card account?
3. Can I pay cash into the Dom account?

Thank you.
Did you move the funds from your Dom acct to the card acct because if you didn't do that the payment will fail since the acct isn't funded .
I have always used my GTB dollar card and no issues , I have used 3x this month for visa related purposes for self and others .

For UK visas yes these options exist but for France visas through VFS, unfortunately no. You must submit your passport and I am not aware of any priority fast service options.

Thank you for responding.

Ashirioluwa:

Either it will be fixed or not will depend on whether your UK visa application was approved for 10 years or not.

If you applied for a 10-year UK visa and the UKVI approved your application for that 10-year duration, but when you received your passport, you saw a visa of shorter duration, it will be fixed in this situation if you file a complaint.

If you applied for a 10-year UK visa but the UKVI only approved your application for a shorter duration for any reason, then it will not be fixed in this scenario, and the difference in fee will not be refunded to you.

Your best option now is to file a complaint because it could be human error.

Thank you for responding , I have had 3 uk visas , with the last one issued in 2020 even though I didn't use it because of the covid pandemic restriction. Fortunately I discovered while I was still at the TLS centre and was asked to print the first page of the doc check list that has the duration and amount I paid and was asked to submit the passport. They also requested for 2 numbers I can be reached on and was asked to register it in a book..

quote author=giselle237 post=124476306] what’s your uk immigration history like? You can make an official complaint + paid mail. It’s at their discretion to call you back and issue the 10 years or to tell you that was the intent of the ECO and that you are not qualified for 10 years at this time. I have seen it swing both ways for ppl so make sure to chase it up to get an answer.
