TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by puffmama: 4:01pm On Aug 13, 2023
I was wondering how the 80k came about . I paid 34,393.14 for vfs service charges to get appointment and 68010 for visa fees . I didn't pay any for courier charges because of where I stay.
They charge for courier based on location .

quote author=goldenedem post=125081896]

Hello , good day
Please this 80k was it visa fee or what was it for ?
I have my own appointment next week too ,
Please I would like to know .
And also, exactly how much you paid for visa fee .
I agree with you , we can't even stay expressly that this is what she could have done better .

I am really sorry about this .This looks like an error to me .
Her statement would have shown her financial capacity , no mention of it at all .
In time past they gave consideration to senior citizens even if they were retired and totally dependent on their children but it appears things are changing .

quote author=Ufemia26 post=125070521]I am shattered 😭.
My mom's visit visa application was refused today. I got the refusal mail this night. I submitted my payslip and husband's payslip, our account statements showing close to 11k pounds, my mom's account statement showing 1.5m, infact enough documentation from my end. Her reason for visit is to come see her first grand child as I put to bed 2 months ago.
Yes, I have a valid US visa and several other expired schengen visas. I booked an appointment for Biometrics. You can not walk in for Biometrics.
TravelRe: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by puffmama: 8:53pm On Aug 11, 2023
Yes you can. I do that when applying for visas but I also do a break down of savings .
I convert the dollars to naira using oanda rate of the date of application and add lit with the naira .in my cover letter .

I decided to be doing this because a while ago I read that someone used a dollar acct and the ECO assumed it was in naira and thought she didn't have sufficient funds . I actually saw a copy of the refusal letter posted .
I don't really know how he could have made that blunder .

quote author=Tomisyn26 post=125046183]@emmafe
Please can I use my USD account and naira account together as proof of funds, applying from Nigeria
TravelRe: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by puffmama: 6:39pm On Aug 11, 2023
Please if someone has paid the CA $85 biometrics fee, would you still need to pay the service charge at VFs Abuja that's Abt 33k .
TravelRe: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by puffmama: 4:04pm On Aug 11, 2023
Congratulations, did you have valid visas to other countries ?
Did you have to book an appointment for your biometrics or you just walked in .

jesufifunmi:
So I just picked up my passport from VFS. Below is my application timeline for those who are submitting for visit/tourist visa.

Application submitted- July 9, 2023
Biometrics completed at VFS Lagos - July 17, 2023
Biometrics validity letter - July 29, 2023
PPR - July 29, 2023
Passport submission at DHL in Gbagada - July 29, 2023
Eligibility completed: August 10, 2023
Passport pickup email from VFS Lekki - August 10, 2023

The process, from the day I submitted to the day I picked up my passport took 1 month and 1 day . What God cannot do doesn't exist. I am still in awe of how fast this was because I am not even planning to travel this year, my application says I will be traveling for summer in June 2024.

I do not have any family/relative in Canada. This is my first application.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 9 by puffmama: 2:09pm On Aug 11, 2023
How did they go about to become British citizens ..were they born there ? If they were then it's not a problem . But I THINK if they went through study route or the highly skilled
migration program they were doing years ago your friend may have a point .
I recall someone in the US was denied because his brother went as a student and didn't come back but a citizen now and the VO denied him and said he won't come back as well and mentioned that was how his brother left too .

That being said you may need to ensure you provide other ties apart from family that may help in convincing them that you will come back .

Thewritingnerd:
Hello good morning all, please I need help with this question:

If I have a mum who has permanent stay in the Uk and a brother that’s a British citizen, can it affect my UK study visa chances if I’m a Nigerian National?

A friend here is telling me it will negatively impact my visa decision because I have stronger ties to the UK than Nigeria and it shows I might likely not return 🥴

Hello everyone , i submitted my TRV application yesterday evening and I just got a mail to do my biometrics .
My passport is at the France Embassy at the moment , I actually just submitted yesterday.

I have a scanned copy of the BioData page of my passport , would that be acceptable or do I need to wait to collect my passport .

Secondly, if I delay in doing the biometrics but within the 30 days specified , does it delay the processing of my application?

To the best of my knowledge, the UK does not hold it against you but have a ready answer to justify your reason Incase a call is placed to you .
I wish you the best .

quote author=Arise01 post=124968269]Good afternoon my people,
Pls I need your advice oooo. I got my 6months visiting visa last year November and I travel feb this year. Pls what’s the implications of spending two months in the Uk instead of 2weeks I communicated in my form?
Thanks
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by puffmama: 1:56pm On Aug 08, 2023
You could have opted for their courier services instead of travelling to Lagos .
If you didn't get a refusal in your inbox, spam or promotion mail ..it's likely to be approved .
Also did you track it ? Did it move from DMC to VAC if it did , that's also a possibility that it was approved . I wish you the best .

quote author=Arise01 post=124967748]Goodafternoon guys
Can we say for sure that the 'Travel Document Ready for Collection' mail means visa is approved or do you need to pick up to confirm?
Logistics and cost of travelling to Lagos twice means it is preferable to pick up passport on the way to making the actual trip. But need to be sure there is an approved visa.
puffmama:
Thank you .I used Ryanair for the other states.
Biometrics is on Wednesday
For my previous visas I used Airfrance to book the multicity routes , but that was France and Germany so I was thinking I would be able to do same for Spain and Rome .
Next time I will just stick to France alone as earlier suggested .

Will check travelstart, will check it out , thank you

Blessedsteph:
Is it too late to cancel and start a new application? It’s always best to stick to one country (you can go to more once you get your visa).
I have heard of more refusals based on multi countries.
But if you chose to go ahead, fingers crossed for you. All the best.
Meanwhile did you try travelstart multicity booking? Never seen a cheaper fare anywhere. Multicity is cheaper than even a return ticket.

Hello everyone ,.

I plan to.visit France , Spain and Italy and already indicated them on my application form I am unable to book a multicity reservation because of the routes .

I have done one for Abuja - Paris - Abuja .

How do I handle the Spain and Rome routes if I want to go my train . Can I also do book on hold or the ticket to France is enough .

I would use the additional information section.

I want to clarify the following during my visa application.

- Scholarship and an extra deposit made after CAS was received.
- Explanation of study gap
- Change of name

Is it better to include these explanation in the "Additional Information" section of the form or should I write a cover letter to explain them?
