The probability of anothet refusal is very high since you have a pending migrant application in process.
And you most likely won't get dates since it's in a few months.
I think you may need to consider sitting it out for the wedding.

I beg to disagree with you. Having a pending petition does not affect your chances of getting a US visa.

If one was refused, it does not have anything to do with it as long as you are truthful, there is a question on the form that has to do with that . Just say yes and mention whoever did the filing.

We have a pending petition for alien relative ( sibling ) and we have renewed our visas quite a number of times .

Although the probability of refusal is high as you have mentioned,. When was the wedding fixed? How close are you to this cousin? How come you didn't mention it earlier , what do you know about who your cousin is getting married to, how long have they dated? Where did they meet? These are the questions you may be asked .
it's also too soon, you may wish to give it time before you reapply , I don't think changing location will make any difference as they already have your details on their system

Where are you getting the “6 week” number from? I’ve had people who visited me for 2 months and never had issues with renewal during the Trump era. Just putting it out there

Have they renewed recently? Except for childbirth or medical reasons or retirees, anyone that stayed 2 months and above got a 221g for a follow up interview .

It's assumed that if you have family ties or you have a job or business back home , why will.you.be on vacation for 2 months ?
Most organisation give 21-30 days leave allowance and you may not necessarily spend all abroad .

They are getting stricter , even for child birth someone was refused , that unless she is having any complications of any sort she does not leave to give birth abroad that the rules have changed .

In time past once you have the financial capability and have good travel history, they give you visa for birthing purposes

The 2 years validity is to allow you travel multiple times within the 2 years period and not to stay for 2 years .

Let's assume you didn't notice the 6 months stamp.,what about the people that hosted you ?

Bros, you have broken plenty rules .

Overstaying and working on a tourist visa .

No 1, are you back in Naija ? If you are, you are at risk of a travel ban when you renew ? What will you tell the VO you were doing for a whole year .

Check the PRESENT requirement of the country you are visiting , some insist on having a covid vaccination card as an evidence that you have been vaccinated.

Someone I know was unboarded in Dubai in March simply because of that , although he had been vaccinated but he was not asked in Lagos when he boarded and didn't remember to travel with his card.
He had option of going back to Lagos to pick it up, or getting a Dubai visa , spent a few days while waiting for the card to be sent to him.tbrough DHL
.you don't need that additional stress,not to mention the unforseen expenses , he was fortunate to get a visa on arrival as they said they had stopped issuing it for Nigerians .

Went for the IW passport dropoff on the 29th of march 2022 in Lagos, been tracking the progress of the application and its been on "application received" for a very long time. However on the 16th of April status changed to "Issued"...but till this day 21th of April no email to come and pick up from DHL...Anyone else experiencing this ?

Yes I am experiencing same ..were you supposed to pick up in Lagos or it was to be sent to another location.

You can but I think you will need to fill another DS 160 form so that the space that has all your names, given names and other names you are known as will be indicated

The 1st visa she declared at the interview that she was going for birth and she was 5month pregnant when she got the visa. And she went with all her doctors appointment and all of that. If you want to use Abuja, you will need to fill another form and indicate Abuja, no you.can not send by DHL, you have to go yourself.

However , I have heard of people who submitted for their parents, spouses and children.

God is not the author of confusion... deadlines are set for a reason. Submit your passport within the 2-year period stated and save yourself the need to require "grace" to do what everyone else takes for granted.

I personally won't apply if I was not qualified but to each her own .

It is not that they choose not to submit, but if they don't get an IW appointment dates , and while waiting they are no longer eligible and they are willing to try, why should we discourage it as long as they are not taking someone else's place .

She isn't , but some people have been fortunate to get their passport submitted and some were not allowed, when it was just a day late, I guess that's where favour comes in .

If you don't get a closer date you can take the risk ..cos the conditions are clearly spelt out ..within 24 months after your visa expired or 3 months before expiration date .

Check your appointment letter, the location to drop off and pick up is clearly stated there

I doubt if the embassy will receive and update case same day so perhaps it's a system error ..just be patient til he gets his passport to see if there is any slip for a follow up interview.

For those wondering why their IW application status is showing 'application received' after weeks of submission, I am in the same boat but received the following message from USvisaNGA, 'DHL is experiencing technical issues preventing applicants from receiving notifications when their passports are ready for pickup. Check email for more details'. There is nothing in my mail yet but it looks like they are having some technical issues.

I guess we should all chill.amd wait it out.

Noted thanks but should that not apply to only those that have been issued/ refused but yet to receive notification for pick up .

There are a few steps before pick up or does DHL notification affect when case is updated. Just wondering .

Introduction letter from the company is fine , you don't need to add the CAC account statement as the company account isn't for your personal use .

Ensure your personal account shows you get paid from the company on a monthly basis or profit sharing or bonuses.

I submitted on the 29th March and status still showing Application received and case was last opened 5th April , before then it was 31st March .

I think it's taking longer than those that submitted in February and first week in March .I guess we just hold on , afterall we were told it may take up to to 2 months

My Mom US Visa expired back in April 24, 2020 with makes her eligible for Interview Waiver. I could not secure any appointment date before April 24 so I scheduled her appointment for April 26 in Abuja.
Does her application still qualify for IW since her scheduled appointment is after April 24 (that would make her visa expiration more than 2 years)? I have called customer service multiple times for clarification but could not get hold of anyone.
I'm seeing earlier date like April 5, 6 and 8 in Abuja but that's too close since her document is in Lagos. I would have preferred Lagos but there is no date in Lagos yet.
Secondly, can anyone who is not a relative submit the documents for her since she is old and would not be able to travel to Abuja for the submission?

Have you joined the Lagos telegram.group for IW, you will definitely get a date there .
If not , your mum may have to come to Abuja before April 24th, if she is unable to travel you can call through the contact us page of the ustraveldocs site . to find out if you or any of your siblings can drop it at the embassy on her behalf.

My mum has her IW appointment on April 14, 2022 in Abuja. However, I would like to know if she has to submit her documents at the US Embassy or DHL office in Abuja. The appointment letter states that her appointment is at the US Embassy on Diplomatic Drive but the last paragraph of the letter also states “The DHL document collection office locations shown below is only authorized to accept and deliver your documents to the Embassy/Consulate General...”. Because of this, I am not sure where she should submit her documents. For folks who have done their IW in Lagos or Abuja, did you submit your docs at the Embassy or DHL office? Thanks in advance!

Is there a suitable reason why you are choosing to go earlier than planned ? If not, I would advise you stick to the earlier proposed date or travel and the number of days you indicated.
They are looking for any reason to turn people back at the POE ..

No I did not get a RFE, status says application is still within processing times so we can't query the cause of the delay yet.
