If it's issued, it depends on your travel dates. If you stated 20th on September on your application, it would become valid from that date for another 28/30days. The duration of stay is the max number of days you can stay within the validity. It will be stated on the Passport

I think you mean acknowledgement mail for the receipt of your application .
You will get your receipt and your biometrics collection mail soon. But have you signed into your profile to see if you have any messages you missed

I just submitted my application on August 10th. There was a space for it . I signed in through the GC key and there was a section to upload digital photo. They even gave the specification of the photos by the question mark next to it

There is a space for upload photo now and it's not on the list for optional docs

Yes as they will state the reason for the refusal, it may not be in the inbox, the person should check spam and promotion as well

I think 3.5M is too low for proof of funds, considering ticket to Canada now can be as high as 2M+ and you are not expected to use all your savings for a vacation .
So maybe like 7M and above

please after printing statement of account, can I make debits from the account, the amount that I will leave in the account will still cover the required amount for POF.

I think uploading your bank statement even if you have a sponsor has to do with your age , though I don't have any info to back this .
It can fly for someone in his / her 20s but if you are 30 and above, you are expected to be working or in business and earning , your balance may not influence their decision but it shows a form of ties. You have a job and you are earning and it further supports the letter of introduction or any other employment related doc you plan to upload .
But wait for the experts to respond

It was my 3rd application and I filled that I wanted a single entry to spend 10 days to visit France and 2 other countries. I provided hotel and flight reservations for the 3 locations .

However, there was a question that had to do with if I had plans to visit France next year and I said yes , so maybe that's why I really don't know .

I am not sure if visa fees unless you choose to cancel and reapply then you need to pay .

Regarding your status .You really can't tell how long it will take your visa application to be processed from the tracker . They process based on individual circumstances and I THINK they give some consideration to frequent travellers with valid visas .

The tracker will show you when it gets to the embassy , when it is being processed, when it gets back to vfs office and when it's been sent to the courier company .
Then the ups tracker shows when it's being processed and in transit before it's delivered .
You won't know if it was granted or refused till you get your passport

This is what people do in circumstances like this .

They get a return ticket to show the period they specified in their form ..when they are allowed entry , they will then change the return date could be a day or two after. If it's same class of ticket , it will just be date change fee but if it's a different class , ( even though it's same economy ) the person will now pay the fare difference . If you booked the ticket click on manage my booking , enter your reference number and last name , effect the changes and pay ..if you used an agent , he can also get it done from naija

I was suprised myself because my two previous schghen visas were 21 days and 30 days .

I don't know if it's because I have a new UK visa that will expire in 2033 and a US Visa that will expire 2024.

Then for my daughter it was her first schghen and she has a 2 yrs UK visa and was also given same 1 year .

I am the one that had concerns about the September 1st appointment date we got for my daughter and I . We kept on checking daily to find an earlier date.

Visa application submission/ biometrics - Aug 9th

Dispatched to the embassy sms- Aug 9th

Dispatched from embassy to vfs sms- Aug 14th.

Passport delivered - Aug 15th.

Validity - 1 year .

Great, VFs Abuja presently does not have option of pick up so they have to dispatch .
I got a sms this afternoon that the courier has picked my passport so was wondering how long it will take to deliver .

I saw the image you posted Abt 6 months , I also saw it before I started my application.
I don't know if it was changed recently but when you get to the part you need to upload docs , the part that has proof of funds , there is a question mark next to it like the other uploads required.
If you click on the question mark , you will see where it states at least 4 months . It does not mean you can't use your 6 months .I choose to use 4 months so that I will have less lump sums to explain even though I have docs to justify them .

Timeline for me,

Appointment was 2nd of August, 8am
3 e-mails on same day (02.08.2023) acknowledging receipt of application, sending of application to embassy and receipt of application by embassy.
2 e-mails on 11.08.2023 acknowledging receipt of my processed passport by VFS and notification of dispatch of my passport to UPS.

I won't know if visa was approved or not until I receive my passport, hopefully within the next couple of days.

I'll update with more information when I have my passport in hand

Ii was told it will take 5-7 working days in Abuja and 8-10 working days in Lagos but because they no longer give the option of pick up but only courier . It may make sense to add 1-2 days extra for delivery .

They require at least 4 months .( I saw that when I wanted to apply last week ).
I would suggest you use your new salary account so that it shows you have a current job and a regular incomes comes into it.
Move all your funds into the salary acct and begin to count afresh for 4 months to avoid any lump sump .
However if you feel you can't wait, you must have a justifiable reasons for the lump sum and explain in your LOE.
