[quote author=emmy9688 post=69927856]Chief Dr. Olusegun Obasanjo, the former President of Nigeria took time off his busy schedule to attend to his health.
He visited Bayelsa Diagnostic Centre where he went through some medical checkup.
He said
“I paid N350,000 (about $1000) for all my medical procedures at the Bayelsa Diagnostic Centre. I would have paid between $20,000 and $25,000 for the same quality of service in the USA”
He used the opportunity to encourage Nigerians to patronize Nigerian hospitals.
Both Russia's Vladimir Putin and US's Donald Trump place great importance on appearance as they try hard to present themselves as powerful and confident leaders.
The two leaders met during their historic meeting in Helsinki few days ago . Not to be outdone , Vladimir Putin also brought his new Russian-made Aurus Senat Kortezh Limo, first unveiled at his inauguration in May, for its first official visit outside Russia .
The tank-like limo which can keep it's occupants safe when fully submerged in water ( the Russians are experts in Submarine) was used to ferry the President from the airport to the Finland’s presidential palace.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZEwMgurDhY Putin from airport Two of the 6 tons Limos could be seen in the short clip with one acting as a decoy and a spare and the other with Putin.
The Central Research and Development Automobile Institute (NAMI) built Limo is covered in armor plating and runs on Kevlar tyres to keep it going when shot.
But unlike the U.S. Presidential Beast, the Kortezh was built with one eye on the export market. Russia hopes to recoup some of the over $300m (N108b) invested through international sales.
About 200 of civilian version will be made this year and another 300 in 2019 with each car expected to cost $160,000.
The US presidential Limo also has its own special features. The doors have no keyholes and can only be opened by the Secret Service agents . The two Beast Limos that always travel with the president are also equipped with Kevlar tyres and can withstand almost any weapon thrown at it.
The host ,Finland’s Prime Minister prefers a German-made armored Mercedes-Benz S600 Guard.

ChangeIsCostant: Congratulations are in order for Ebonyi State Commissioner of Police, Madam Peace Ibekwe Abdallah who has been promoted to the enviable rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police. The AIG is well known for her enchanting smiles that even in her official portrait she couldn't help but smile.
The Governor of Ebonyi, David Umahi once described the amazon by saying “Her joviality should not be taken for granted because somebody who smiles like her can be strict and even difficult.: “I am very impressed with the Nigeria Police of today”
Born on April 7, 1963, AIG Peace Ibekwe Abdallah hails from Onitsha in Anambra State. Her journey in the Nigeria Police which started 29 years, when she was enlisted into NPF as a cadet ASP, has been tough and eventful. But, through hard work (and plain good luck too), she rose steadily up the ladder of police officers’ ranks and was promoted to the rank of Commissioner of Police (CP).
Her first assignment as Commissioner of Police was heading the Monitoring Unit, Force Headquarters Abuja.
Until her appointment as AIG, She was the CP Ebonyi State Police command.
OEPHIUS: Gov. Ugwuanyi offers scholarship to 340 IMT students, few weeks after similar gesture, amid jubilation
…delivers lecture on good governance, functional science and technology education
A few weeks after Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State offered scholarship to 340 indigent students of the State Polytechnic, Iwollo, the governor on Thursday granted yet another scholarship to 340 students of the Institute of Management and Technology, Enugu, at the cost of N54.4 million, covering their tuition fees for four years of academic studies in all engineering programmes of the institution.
Gov. Ugwuanyi announced the scholarship when delivering the 4th Distinguished Academic Lecture of the institute, titled: “The place of good governance in achieving functional science and technology education in Nigeria”.
The governor said that the decision was “in line with our policy of providing access to education at all levels to all strata of the society in all educational fields of engineering and technology”.
He explained that the 340 beneficiaries of the scholarships will be spread across the 17 local government areas, resulting in 20 students per council.
Gov. Ugwuanyi added that the gesture was “aimed at encouraging our people to do engineering and help position the state for rapid industrial development”.
Delivering the detailed, educative and captivating lecture at the colourful event held at IMT’s Conference Centre, which was richly attended by dignitaries across the state and beyond, such as the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Edward Ubosi; the Chief Judge of the State, Hon. Justice Priscilla Emehelu; the MD/CEO of Access Bank Plc, Dr. Herbert Wigwe, represented by Mr. Victor Etukudoh, among others, Gov. Ugwuanyi emphasized the importance of functional science and technology education towards national development and promotion of good governance.
The governor stressed that “for every nation to get developed, the application of both science and technology has to go hand in hand”, adding that “villages are developed into towns and towns to cities and cities are expanding to greater horizons all because of science and technology”.
According to him, “today, countries are classified as developed and developing countries based on economy and the application of science and technology. It goes without saying that a nation’s development and prosperity are judged to a large extent by the status of science and technology of the nation”.
On good governance, Gov. Ugwuanyi stated that “the concept of good governance emerged mainly because of practices of bad governance, characterized by corruption, unaccountable governments and lack of respect for human rights”, saying that “when talking about good governance, what is generally referred to is the ability to perform efficiently, effectively and responsively, guided by principles that are feasible and desirable at all levels of the society”.
Narrowing down the lecture on the contributions of his administration to science and technology education with IMT as a case study, the governor said that “in keeping faith with the motto, vision, mission and philosophy of the institute, Enugu State under my leadership has been doing her utmost best to bring about functional science and technology in the country”.
The governor disclosed that his administration in this regard and “in our continued commitment to elevate the Institute of Management and Technology to a centre of excellence in technological development, the Executive Council of Enugu State on the 19th Day of April 2018, approved the release of the sum of N810 million for the construction of an ultra-modern fully furnished classroom complex; a purpose built and fully furnished office complex; a complex for the Exams and Records Division; two buildings that will house modern public conveniences for staff and students; and a fully furnished medical centre”.
He noted that the said amount (N810 million) excludes the earlier sum of N290 million released to the institute for purposes of reaccrediting 18 of her academic programmes, expressing delight that the entire 18 programmes were successfully reaccredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).
“It, therefore, follows that in past few months, Institute of Management and Technology, Enugu, got a total of N1.1 billion, from Enugu State Government as grants, excluding the monthly subvention of N120 million” he said.
Earlier in her welcome address, the Chairman of IMT Governing Council, Deaconess Mrs. Ifeoma Nwobodo appreciated the governor and other guests for gracing the occasion, saying that the choice of the lecture was aptly chosen “after a thorough and sober reflection over Your Excellency’s avowed and unprecedented visible commitment towards qualitative tertiary education in Enugu State in general and in IMT in particular”.
“It is therefore, our expectation that this distinguished audience will at the end of the lecture come to know the secret of the success story of good governance in Enugu State”, she stated.
Other speakers at the event, such as the representative of Chairman of the Occasion and CEO of Access Bank Plc, Dr. Wigwe; Rector of the Institute, Prof. Augustine Nweze, etc, also commended Gov. Ugwuanyi for his commitment to the development of education in the state in particular and entrenchment of peace and good governance in general.
It's one thing to cast away madness caused by evil spirits and demons,
It's another thing to cast away madness caused by Kparaga, codeine, monkey tail, Kwale sawdust, Sapele water, tramadol or yahooplus.
With that said, the Prophet should be unconditionally released because he had only good intentions for the deceased and to think the deceased's family will refuse to pay up the balance for deliverance.
Why not do it then? This goes to show that yes you are, You are not only scared to speak, you also don't know what to say.
You are a disgrace to RCCG You are a disgrace to Yorubaland And a traitor to Christianity Palestinian-sympathetic, dubious dwarf.
As a pastor, why didn't you represent Nigeria at Jerusalem? Why didn't Nigeria deem it neccessary to attend the opening of the US Embassy? I wish the US can place sanctions on Nigeria for boycotting such a historic event.
BafanaBafana: I wonder if people reason with their testicles. They should go and find out what a terrorist organization is. They don't care about people dying. All the want is to demonize the fulani tribe just to discredit the president. Recently several arrests have been made in connections to the killings in Benue and even igbos were among them. I don't understand why someone who is rearing his cattle should be named a terrorist because his kinsmen are killing and also being killed.
timilehin007: Prooudly afonja but let's know and agree that we as tribe in Nigeria have a specific place we are very good at...no gain saying. ..ipob are representing wella...the few afonjas there are like phyno nd the rest few ipob in the music industry...

65-year-old Vladimir Putin and former KGB officer, today the 7th of May 2018 began his 4th term and another six years as Russia's president .
Today also marks the unveiling of his new russian-made black limousine , codenamed Kortezh, which was used for the short distance from his office to the Kremlin hall for the inauguration.
The front view of the heavily armored limo look so much like a Rolls-Royce Phantom while the luxurious Bentley Mulsanne comes to mind when viewed from the back. The headlights is very similar to Chrysler 300's.
This means that the highly favored German made Mercedes-Benz S 600 Guard Pullman is officially out as the russian state car.
This is an obvious response from Russia to overcome western sanctions by reducing its dependence on imported goods and technology.
The powertrain, is a rumoured twin-turbocharged V12 with 850 horsepower i.e 634 kilowatts jointly developed by Porsche and Bosch with an assistance from Moscow-based Central Scientific Research Automobile & Engine Institute (NAMI). It has a Russian-designed nine-speed automatic gearbox.
About 200 of the new cars will be used in russian state’s convoys designed as minivan, Sport Utility Vehicles and smaller sedan. Civilians versions for wealthy Russians would also be made.

Ugwanyi is a disgrace to Enugu state. There is no particular project in Enugu as a city you can proudly call his name as the executor. He's busy eating in every occasion and disgracing his kindred. Now he is busy repainting bus stops Sullivan built and the annoying thing there, he will put his campaign bill there. Every corner in Enugu you must see Ugwanyi billboards.
Oh God bless Sullivan Chime... Upon all his good work in Enugu state, you will never see a poster of him or even him commissioning a project. God bless him
