I've built both, SaaS and freelance are the same effort of work, only difference is revenue model.

No there's actually more gigs for non-IT than IT, the only thing is you just have to research, there is no 1 silver bullet gig, which is why freelancers spread themselves across 3 most likely to be prominent gigs.
