Alex Iwobi has come under severe attack on social media since the end of the African Cup of Nations. People have insulted, mocked and posted all kinds of things about him. This has caused him to delete all his pictures on Instagram except one.

Some of the people that led the attack on him, like Tunde Ednut and Very Dark Man, have made U-turns and condemned fans for attacking Iwobi. There have even been rumours that Iwobi is planning to quit the Super Eagles.

Now Super Eagles and Super Falcons players have risen in support of Iwobi. They have taken to their social media pages to show support to the midfielder.

People don’t have to bully Iwobi, we only need to blame the coach who fielded him. It’s a different thing for a coach to know who is good enough for the team.
Health / Why Do Some People Like To Pick Their Noses? by quickee: 5:07pm On Feb 07
Why is it that some people pick their noses irritatingly in public? The annoying part of it is some do not even care if they are in the public gaze or not. To make the matter worse, people like that also blow their noses indiscriminately, not minding if people are seated or standing close to them.
I tire for them ooo.

Do Nairalanders have anything to say to this?
Romance / Re: Can The Past Life Of A Lady Truly Be Overlooked ? by quickee: 4:10pm On Jan 26
Elzazzi:
I will try and make this brief and please ignore the errors.

I was with my close friend yesterday evening. While we were chilling together, a call came in on his phone. it was his cousin that called telling what had happened and also seeking his advice. Now this is what happened, this his cousin has been dating this lady for about a year I think and he has already proposed to her and even took her to his parents and siblings. He also visited the lady family and did some introduction. Now April this year has been chosen for the wedding ceremony proper and a date has been fixed. This is where trouble started.

My friend cousin created a WhatsApp group for his wedding ceremony, he added all his friends and some of his classmates to this group so they can join hands and make his wedding day memorable. He posted his wedding IV to the group and some pictures of him and the lady, one of his old time classmate recognized her and immediately called him for a private meeting for urgent discussions.

He visited him the next day and this guy told him everything about his fiancée. How she used to be a stripper in Lagos clubs years back and how he and his friends had wild 3some with her. She used to base in Lagos as a call girl but relocated to Abuja and that’s where she met my friend cousin. After all these revelation this guy was in deep pain as he had already gone far with the weeding preparations. Of course his old time classmate advised him not to marry her, but this guy loves her so much and he is in a big dilemma of what to do next. As he thinking of leaving the country and go start life with her elsewhere.

Can such past truly be overlooked?

After my friend explained everything to me, I was just short of words but of course I advised he shouldn’t marry her. What advice would you give him in such a situation my fellow Nlanders ?

Many things are involved here.
1. She is hiding her past. That’s very dangerous. A truly repentant stripper must be able to open her past to the person she wants to spend the rest of her life with.
2. Has she given her life to Christ? If yes, then she is a new creature. There is no one born a saint!
3. Love is very strong indeed. But, it must not blindfold his eyes to the reality before him. The journey of marriage is longer than what you can imagine. Let him not make rational decisions because of love alone.
4. Is this the will of God for him? Has he prayed about the issue? What is God saying? She may be very pious and submissive just to get his hand in marriage, but can she truly take the street (stripping) off her character?

I can go on and on to analyze this, but the heart of a man is only know to him. Your friend’s cousin will do whatever pleases him. Na everyone go carry him own cross.

Ire ooo.

Odingo1:
After going on trip for business purposes for like a month or two, wife constantly demand for lab test that she don’t trust anyone. What can someone do in this situation. No cheating is involved.

I don’t know if you are in a marriage or being managed by your wife!
What kind of wife requests for a lab test every time you go out for business meetings?
Obviously, this cannot be ordinary.
1. It’s either she knows you to be a cheater (she must have even caught you in the art before).
2. She had a terrible past where she was infected by different partners (she then concluded all men are cheaters).

Asides the above-mentioned reasons, then it means your wife is just insecure. I don’t think your sexual life is the only part where she distrusts you. There are many other areas where you would have to prove yourself with evidences.

Crime / Re: UK Tribunal Acquits Nigeria’s Dr Olugbenga Of Alleged Misconduct by quickee: 1:51pm On Jan 22
Hmm... At least you have learned your lessons.
Be careful of situations that can lead you into sin.
Go and sin no more.

coolxpaul:

The Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service of the United Kingdom (UK) has declared Dr. Olugbenga Anthony Olugbenga fit to practise in the UK after discharging and acquitting him of alleged professional misconduct.

The Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service is the tribunal service for doctors in the UK, saddled with the responsibility of running hearings and making independent decisions on whether doctors are fit to practise medicine.

One Miss Goodness Taiwo Adeosun, a student of Dentistry at the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, had, in a viral media publication in Nigeria, accused Dr Olugbenga, a then resident doctor in the Department of Medicine, University College Hospital, Ibadan, of alleged professional misconduct while under his supervision in 2019.

Dr Olugbenga, who had already relocated to the UK and had professionally been engaged in 2020, was, however, summoned by the UK Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service to clear his name of the alleged misconduct, following referral to the tribunal by the General Medical Council (GMC), the regulatory board of medical doctors in the UK, which had got wind of the viral social media publication.

A six-member Sub-Committee of the Committee to Develop A Sexual Harassment Policy for UCH, headed by Professor Olayinka Omigbodun, had earlier in Nigeria, adjudicated on the case, reprimanding Dr Olugbenga and Miss Adeosun over the latter’s alleged unprofessional misconduct on December 18, 2019, but determining that the allegations of sexual misconduct were unfounded.

Meanwhile, in the trial meticulously carried out by the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service over the alleged Misconduct between April 3, 2023 and April 14, 2023, all allegations preferred against Dr Olugbenga were quashed as they were found to be false and unproven with a final verdict that his “practice is not impaired.”

In the judgement obtained from www.mpts-uk.org, the UK tribunal was presided over by Mr Sean Ell, legally qualified chair, and had as members Mrs Jennifer Ann Portway and Mrs Deborah McInerny.

At the UK tribunal, the GMC was represented by Mr Robin Kitching and the accused, Dr Olugbenga, with GMC Ref. No:7579301 represented himself virtually.

In determining whether the allegation impaired Dr Olugbenga’s fitness, the Tribunal, relying heavily on evidence in accordance with Rule 17(700) of the Rules, ruled that Dr Olugbenga’s fitness to practise was not impaired by reason of misconduct.

“On behalf of the GMC, Mr Kitching submitted that the GMCs case had been brought on the basis that Dr Olugbenga knew Ms A was vulnerable and had non-consensual sexual intercourse with her: Given the Tribunal’s findings of fact on those matters, he submitted, that the GMC was not seeking to argue that the facts found proved could amount to misconduct. As such, he submitted, Dr Olugbenga’s fitness to practise would not be impaired.

“In approaching the decision, the Tribunal was mindful of the two-stage process to be adopted: first whether the facts as found proved amounted to misconduct, and that the misconduct was serious, and then whether the finding of that misconduct which was serious could lead to a finding of Impairment.

“The Tribunal must determine whether Dr Olugbenga’s fitness to practice is impaired today, taking into account his conduct at the time of the events and any relevant factors since then, such as whether the matters are remediable, have been remedied and any likelihood of repetition

“The Tribunal had regard to the case of Royance v GMC (N:2) [2000] 1 AC 312 in which misconduct was defined as a word of general effect, involving some act or omission which fall short of what would be proper in the circumstances. It was also stated in Raylonce that the standard of propriety may often be found by reference to the rules and standards ordinarily required to be followed by a medical practitioner in particular circumstances.

“In determining whether Dr Olugbenga’s fitness to practise is currently impaired because of misconduct, the Tribunal first considered whether the facts found proved amounted to misconduct, considering each paragraph of the Allegation found proved in Paragraphs 1 and 2.

“The Tribunal first considered its findings in respect of paragraphs 1 and 2 of the Allegation. It noted that these were factual matters set out by the GMC at the outset of the Allegation. They related to Dr Olugbenga’s role at the hospital, Ms A’s position as a Bleep and her vulnerability due to her mental health. The Tribunal was satisfied that there was no basis upon which any of those findings could constitute misconduct by Dr Olugbenga.

“The Tribunal next considered its findings in respect of paragraph 5(b) to (d) of the Allegation, namely that Dr Olugbenga had come out of the hotel bathroom without some of his clothes on, got into bed with Ms A and told her to come closer to him. Those actions were in the contest of Dr Olugbenga having had consensual sexual intercourse earlier in the evening with Ms A before arranging a hotel room for them to stay in together that evening. Dr Olugberga had not known about Ms A’s vulnerability due to her health when they had sexual intercourse.

“Dr Olugbenga told the Tribunal that he now accepted his faults in having had a consensual sexual relationship with Ms A given their professional relationship. He told The Tribunal that he is to be blamed for a lot of what transpired between him and Ms A as the more senior of the two. He identified to the Tribunal three areas, having undertaken courses relating to professional boundaries, where on reflection he perhaps should have acted differently. Firstly, he should have declined Ms A’s offer to make him a pair of slippers. Secondly, Dr Olugbenga stated he should not have exchanged telephone numbers with her and subsequently started communicating with her. Thirdly, he said he should not have accepted to go out for a drink with her.

“Notwithstanding Dr Olugbenga’s subsequent regret about his relationship with Ms A, the Tribunal was satisfied that his actions in the hotel room could not amount to misconduct, given the consensual nature of his sexual relationship with Ms A and that he was unaware of Ms A’s vulnerability due to her health

“The Tribunal then considered whether its finding in respect of paragraph 7 of the Allegation amounted to misconduct, The Tribunal found that Dr Olugbenga’s actions at paragraph 5(b) to (d) were sexually motivated. Given the Tribunal’s finding that the sexual relationship between Ms A and Dr Olugbenga was a consensual one, the Tribunal was satisfied that there was no basis upon which it could conclude that Dr Olugbenga’s behaviour amounted to misconduct

“Accordingly, the Tribunal concluded that Dr Olugbenga’s conduct did not fall so far short of the standards of conduct reasonably to be expected of a doctor as to amount to misconduct.

“The Tribunal therefore determined that Dr Olugbenga’s fitness to practise is not impaired,” the tribunal ruled.

It should be noted that the UK Tribunal is based on a standard of proof application to civil proceedings, namely, the balance of probabilities, that is, whether it is more likely than not, that the events occurred, or 51 per cent, and not under a criminal trial where the proof of proceedings is “beyond a reasonable doubt ” or above 90 per cent. This means it was much easier to find Dr. Olugbenga guilty had he been guilty of the allegations brought against him.

The GMC had relied on evidence supplied by Ms Adeosun, including her written statements, medical reports, and an article published by the Foundation for Investigative Journalism (FIJ), which she relied upon to prove her case against Dr Olugbenga.

The Tribunal, however, noted that “there were a number of inconsistencies between the various accounts that Ms Adeosun was recorded to have given over time. While being cross-examined, Ms Adeosun also acknowledged that the article published by the FIJ was inaccurate, yet she had not only submitted it to the GMC but also relied on it for evidence.

“The Tribunal noted that were a number of inconsistencies between the various accounts that Ms A was recorded as having given over time. Although, some of these involve the reporting back of what Ms A has said by third parties, the Tribunal took into account that Ms A only acknowledged that, for example, the article published in the Foundation for Investigative Journalism was inaccurate during cross-examination. Prior to that she had relied upon the article as supporting her account.

“The Tribunal took into account a further inconsistency in Ms A’s evidence, noting that, in the Foundation for Investigative Journalism article, she is recorded as saying that during the alleged incident, ‘I shouted but no one heard me’. In her evidence to the Tribunal, she was clear that she did not cry out for fear of others joining in to assault her. Ms A has also given varied accounts of whether there were others around where she and Dr Olugbenga were in the bar.”

Reacting to the judgement, Dr Olugbenga said: “I thank God for being faithful. I am happy that finally the UK authority found me guiltless, even though a lawyer did not represent me (I couldn’t afford the fee the lawyers quoted for me).

“I thank my family for their prayers, and support during my time of trial. I thank my friends who believed in my version of the story and never doubted me even when the internet was filled with so much lies and hates from those who never knew me.

“For my colleagues: the medical profession is one where a very high standard of morals is expected of you, far above that expected of any other professionals, I dare say even above what is expected of the priesthood. And because of this, they must self-audit their actions not only while attending to patients, but also when in their private social lives.

“I advise that they should not go out of their ways to offer help to a colleague, especially one who is junior to them, outside working hours. Any thing that goes beyond work hours and work schedule, should not be entertained. They should maintain professional boundaries.”

He also praised the UK judicial system, describing it as “very detailed system. They should maintain their high standards.

“I also thank the panel that initially sat at UCH that made their findings and declared that the allegations were not true.”

I hate to sound like this but the truth must be said. I don’t think Nigeria will go far in this Nations Cup. You may be seeking for a reason but that’s just the bitter truth.
Righteousness exalts a nation. A nation that’s plagued with corruption and shedding of blood wants to be exalted amongst other nations. If not for the prayer of the Church in this country, things would have been worst for the citizens.
Gone are those days when people gather together to support our sportsmen. The people have now been divided across the lines of politics, religion and tribalism.
Until righteousness is restored back to the nation from the top to the bottom…

NB: Take a look at the NTA transmission and see how poor it is. The quality has not improved since all these years. What happened to all the money pumped into it? There are many things wrong with the nation.

Association of Movie Producers Nigeria President Amb Queen Blessing Ebigieson message to Emeka Ike’s Ex wife

Veteran Nollywood actress, who is the Current President Association of Movie Producers Nigeria, Amb Queen Blessing Ebigieson has lashed out at Suzanne Emma, the ex-wife of her colleague, Emeka Ike.

Queen Blessing expressed her displeasure after Emma brought Emeka Ike's first son, Micheal Ike into their marital crisis and made him give an interview.

According to blessing, she dose not hold brief for Emeka Ike , after all she was not there when everything happened, but the Ex wife said her mother’s Children did not attend their own mothers burial that she buried her mom alone, non of her siblings came that means her family has some issues, she is not saying she is is lying or saying the truth. That she is only thinking out aloud.

Also allowing her son talk about there marriage is disrespectful. (Amb Queen Blessing)

Recall that Emeka Ike during an interview on Channels TV, said he underwent a prolonged period of depression, faced challenges in his marriage, and encountered conflicts with colleagues within the Nollywood industry, which was the reason for his extended absence from the screen.

However, in an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Emma maintained that Ike had subjected her to abuse throughout their 17-year marriage.

Michael Ike, who also spoke to Chude, said his father’s attitude was so extreme that he began to hate him.

Reacting via a verified facebook page, Amb. Queen Blessing Ebigieson said Emma is is not supposed to go this far by bringing her son to grant interview, stressing that allowing their son to grant an interview over issues with her ex-husband is very disrespectful as a mother.

She wrote:

“I am not holding brief for Emeka Ike, I was not their when it happened, but the ex wife said her mother's children did not attend their own mother's burial hmmmmm that she buried her mother alone none of her siblings came ..... I think that family has issues, I am not saying she is lying or saying the truth, I am only thinking out loud. Also allowing her son talk about their marriage nd disrespect his father publicly is the part I don't like, when parents have issues dey must learn to keep their children out of it.... This is Africa we respect our parents no matter what dey do or did. Madame it's time tell your son to stop talking......

The future laughs at that boy. Does he think he can disrespect his father like that and let it pass? Fatherhood is not something you mess with, no matter what. He has sown a curse already, he can only wait to reap the fruits now or in the nearest future. There is time to make amends, though.

There is this lady I plan to marry, which I have made known to her already even before she travelled for her NYSC. Although she just came back from NYSC service recently. We are just discussing the way forward and on the process I was asking her about her sexual life and how recently she had sex. After insisting for her to answer. She opened up and told me she had a sexual relationship during her NYSC service. And the reason was because I didn't call her at a particular time so she thought I have find anther woman. And that was when I was having some personal challenges. According to her, they ended the sexual relationship in the camp. That she is sorry and all that. I didn't really expect that attitude from her as she seem to look responsible and Godlily. I was just disappointed even though I pretended like everything is well. And I was also thinking she had the courage to tell me the true.

Now I have to make my decision, but needs a matured advise and guidance from a mature mind please.

Do think I should continue my marriage plan with her?

Pease what do you advise I do?

Thanks in advance.

Just a year NYSC and she has gone down. That’s how cheap people can be.
First of all, you have to give your own life to Christ. I hope you have not engaged in sexual relationship with her? Disconnect yourself from every purity and allow God to lead you.
Seeking advice from Nairaland for a future home is not a thing to write about. A lot of carnal people will give you advices that will make you shed tears in your future. Social media space is not real, bro. Even a demon will advise you.

I support every effort put in place to remove unnecessary structures from the road. Why do Nigerians like building on the road? Is it some kind of culture or madness that makes people feel they must encroach the road? Even those who rent shops very close to the road still go as far as putting their wares on the road. Is that even necessary? I think the government must demonstrate their stance against this madness by demolishing every illegal structure built on the road? You don’t have to build on the road before people see your house or shop.

Do police have the jurisdiction to demand nor ask for driver's license?

I was highly frustrated today, while I was on my way rushing to an event to meet up with the 10:00 AM deadline for the event which I was also the chairman, a group of some fiercely-looking police officers flagged down my vehicle and I slowed down.

One of the officers came towards my vehicle, ordered me to come out from the car and started demanding for my driver's license. I was like, what is going on?

In as much as I am aware that police officers have taken it upon themselves to be asking people for their vehicle particulars, which is a good way of tracking stolen cars, they asked for it and I provided it, but asking people for their driver's license is what I think is out of the picture.

I tried to exercise my right as a citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria by briefly dragging it with them initially, which I think this issue of police asking for driver's license had raised dust sometime ago, but I realized that I'm still in Nigeria, last last, I settled with 5k, this is with abeg o, after several hours and minutes had gone by, I arrived the event place by 01:15 PM, an event slated for 10:00 AM.

like I said earlier, asking for car particulars from people by the police is good, but asking for driver's license is where I think the issue lies. I thought anything that has to do with checking of drivers license is strictly under the jurisdiction of the FRSC?

I'm feeling nothing but anger and cheated which gave rise to many questions going through my mind;
Who gave the police officers the jurisdiction to be asking for driver's license?
Is there any amended law(s) that granted the police force that power?

If you had a driver’s license, you wouldn’t be telling us this story. Go do am bro and stop giving away free money to policemen. If you have done the right thing, they cannot extort you. They would have to beg you. No policeman can chop me anyhow🤣

People will speak more ill of Nigeria as long as the accursed and wicked leaders keep doing things that are against the law and humanity. Every arm of the government has been kidnapped and hijacked. There is no rule of law again.

Do people still go out and vote in this country? You better sit at home and wait for INEC to install their choice man? A nation where all institutions have become corrupt and debased. May the Lord save this country from the hands of the wicked people one day.

Will you shut your smelly mouth?

You people stood and watched MC Oluomo threaten people who were not on his side and prevented them from voting. You people couldn’t do anything. Could you? When money enters your pockets, you lose your senses of judgement and equity.

We will be here to see your inadequacies. Technology will reveal them to us.

That’s how one of the guys in GTB was asking me about my account ATM card. He wanted to know if I have it and always use it. Those guys live above their means. It is no longer news that they work together with the street boys.
