this is the problem seriously.

I once opened a thread suggesting if the Binis can stand on their own, I didn't mention igbos, no one did but they invaded insulted us and derail the thread.

A guy did the same trying to promote southern unity, they invaded insulted all southern tribes and derail the thread.

Take a look at all the topic created, igbos must invade and insult others.

I pity Atiku, he doesn't know the problem he picked as vp even though I want him to win.

I'm sorry but that's the truth
You must be silly for bringing this here or taking it so serious. Most of you who take what happens on nairaland so serious are complete dummy. we should be at war with each other offline, i mean real war but everytime i log off nairaland and face real world, all i see is a peaceful citizens going about their business.

So there's this guy I met on Facebook who's been disturbing me to meet with him for the past two years, and during those two years its either he texted me when I'm about to go back to school or when I'm not just in the mood to see anyone.
Then came last week or so he chatted me up again asking for a meet up, and yours truly is now through with school and very less busy so I decided to go see the person who has been disturbing me for almost two years(if not more).
Last Friday was the day we met for the first time and he looked okay, and very outspoken(although it was kinda uncomfortable because he was a bit lousy) but I was okay with it, on my way home I forgot my small phone in his car and I found out while I was in the market doing weekend shopping, I thought I had even misplaced it, I called him and told him what had happened and I asked him to continue help me in calling the number until someone picks so I can know where it was, he later called to say the phone was found in the car and I should come get it the next day(been Saturday), I told him I couldn't but would come after service on Sunday( my church wasn't really Far from his place). So immediately after service I took cab to his place to go get my phone, when I got there I asked for the phone and he gave me and went on about how we needed to talk and all, and that he wants a serious relationship( I have no p with that because I'm single) and I told him I'll think about it, before you know what, he started talking about how he wants me to kiss him and cuddle him, and I'm like"hollup guy, I haven't decided if I want to date you or not, and since I came in you didn't even offer me even if its a glass of water and you're talking about cuddle and kissing, please o park well", he kept pestering and pestering to the extent that it almost looked like he was going to rape me, I got pissed and decided to leave, just couldn't stand the nonsense no more, and the next thing he did was give me cold shoulder, didnt talk to me till I left, and even while I was leaving he just ignored me like I didnt exist..
All that got me thinking, is there any guy out there who would let a relationship grow first before demanding for anything?, and why is it so difficult for most guys to respect a lady, because she's in your house doesn't give you any right to want to abuse her na...I'm still in shock at the way he acted yesterday, still baffling.
Lol there are guys actually... At least I have never asked the one I met here for sex and I do show I care about her in many ways... Even gonna get a new machine for sewing, 90k is the cost according to what she told me. I have not told her cos I want it to be a surprise to her. She didn't ask me to get it for her like she hardly does, I just do it cos I know it is the right thing to do.

PoliticsThe Ongoing Conflict In North-eastern Nigeria by Quorax(op): 5:06pm On Nov 26, 2018
The recent spate of Boko Haram attacks in northeastern Nigeria have negated President Buhari’s claims when he assumed power in 2015 that the radical Islamist group (many being thugs who have hijacked the religion of Islam for their own purposes) had been ‘technically defeated’. His narrative that Boko Haram was ‘technically defeated’ was false as soon as he uttered those words.

There is, in a purely military sense, no such thing as a ‘technical defeat’—something the President, as an ex-military man ought to know. Sadly, he also chose to make the successes of 7 Infantry Division and 72 Mobile Strike Force (MSF) his own, when it wasn’t.

President Buhari and his team were, however, part of the political leader group that led the vocal charge about STTEP’s presence in Nigeria, making it a burning political issue even before they assumed office. Indeed, they made it known that the company’s presence would not be tolerated under his office.

The initial 3-phase campaign strategy (known as ‘Operational Anvil’) to degrade and destroy BH in Borno State, was rejected by his advisors. Instead, pressure forced only a small part of the campaign to be successfully implemented before we were ordered to pack up and leave.

They were, however, quite happy to allow the armed forces to receive both substandard training and the incorrect equipment provided by both foreign governments and their PMCs—along with the worst possible ‘military advice’. When this approach failed, the military could be blamed for any lack of success.

Whereas it remains a government’s prerogative to ‘hire-and-fire’ who they so wish, it is sad that the President preferred defeat above victory, as soldiers can only do what they are trained, equipped, and led to do.

Do it poorly, and they die—and the innocent and defenceless suffer.

Many of the men we trained as part of 72 Mobile Strike Force have remained in contact with us (STTEP), pleading for our return to Nigeria. They have also told us that they have been used to a point of exhaustion. But, rumours also bubble beneath the surface that President Buhari viewed Boko Haram as an instrument that could reduce the force and standing of the military and thereby protect him from a possible coup d’état.

Over the past few weeks, Boko Haram have executed numerous attacks on the Nigerian Army, causing numerous casualties and capturing massive amounts of equipment and ammunition. Raids on villages and the slaughter and kidnapping of the innocent and defenceless has continued—and in some instances intensified—under the reign of the President Buhari’s government.

Sadly, the government has yet to issue a statement informing its citizens of what is really happening—and how a ‘technically defeated’ enemy can be so effective.

As Boko Haram’s activities and actions increased, so too did the silence about the increasing problems in Nigeria’s Borno State. Prior to, and following our departure from Nigeria, we issued numerous intelligence warnings to his government. These warnings covered the implications of not allowing the 72 MSF to annihilate BH in Borno province; the plans by Boko Haram to rearm and escalate their activities; the implications of regional spill-over, the impact on the armed forces; and so forth.

These intelligence warnings were all rejected in favour of a false belief. Neighbouring countries were advised not to listen to us as it was claimed to be a cheap attempt to ‘get a contract’. Chad, Cameroon and Niger are now also reaping the benefits of rejecting intelligence in favour of an agenda-driven narrative aimed at destabilising an entire region—a region where Nigeria remains a prime target.

The reality is that these forces can be defeated. But victory requires more than a few soundbytes. Soundbytes do not—and never have—resulted in victory over an enemy.

Ultimately, the innocent suffer and soldiers die, and every tactical victory Boko Haram achieves merely incentivises them to continue. This also gives impetus to the plans and actions of other radical terror groups across the continent.

North-eastern Nigeria is an example of what can happen when intelligence is rejected in favour of a false narrative.

Don’t blame the armed forces when poor political decisions result in the deaths of people.

My submission is tha there is something fishy about the contract

I met this guy while I was serving. We became pretty close because we had a lot of things in common. And we were staying in the same room and finished from the same school. He told me about a business he started while in school, but due to some family issues, had to make use of the money earned and all. It sounded good, because before now, I had heard about people buying yams from Niger and Benue states and selling them off in places like the South South region at huge profits.

The fact that I was familiar with how costly and cheap yams are in these places made it seem like a very good ides to follow.

Long story short: I collected 200k from my sister and put in 300k of mine. Traveled to Niger and bought yams from a village along Lapai road. We traveled with the truck and met a guy in Effurun, whom he said was the person he always sold it to. Spent about a week in Delta state and sold everything, with the profits coming being about 200k, after expenses and whatnot. Got 300k and added to everything we had and came back to Niger to buy more.

Couldn't follow them back due to other factors that were beyond my control. Lost about 1.3 million altogether on his way back. He said he was robbed. But up till now, the news and the numbness of it never made me ask follow-up questions to the bloody pictures I saw.

I didn't quite recover from that for a long time.
What bloody picture? Was he shot or what?

So this boy, who's my brother, is a talented fashion designer, far beyond his pairs, but, he works for some greedy bloke who paid him peanut change. So I decided to bankroll him, get him a shop, buy a generator and three embroider machine, with one sowing machine. That way he'd sponsor his education in the University and add to the family net worth. Long story short: he dropped out of school, doesn't save a dime. He abandoned The purpose of starting the business while he makes cool cash and spend it on himself alone.

I threw over 900k in that investment. I actually went broke after the incidence.it hurt because I was doing it for the family.

If indeed you are a great entrepreneur and never failed in any endeavors, then it's admirable and receive my congratulations.

However you seem to imply that failure is always th result of a mistake or lack of diligence. Which is untrue. The world of business is constantly changing and sometimes so unpredictable that you can do everything right and still have a failure.

Failure is not the opposite of success like people think. It is actually a huge part of it. Most great business men you can think of, failed at some point in their journey.

But like I said if you truly do business at considerable level and never failed then it's good for you and I applaud your wisdom and foreknowledge.
I understand you and I am not disputing your claims.

At least , I try to minimize losses as much as possible. That is what I do.
