Nigeria generates income from oil and NOT states cheesy. Shifting goal posts will get you nowhere. We are discussing the size and productivity of states.

SE states are the tiniest and least productive.

Pay attention.

TSRC:
Two states of the South east are in the Niger delta pumping oil as we speak.

If we are truly talking about productivity of states, add up the revenues those States generates off their land per day.
Then we can see true productivity.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria's 36 States & FCT Ranked In Order Of Land Mass: Photos by QuotaSystem: 1:15pm On Sep 30, 2019
You have failed to answer the all important question.

So which state "indiscriminately increased taxation" which boosted their IGR? Is it in Northern Japan?

Take note:

1. Tax is NOT the only form of government revenue. There are state owned enterprises among others that generate revenue (museums, parks, hotels etc) for the Govt, state owned bonds and other investments AMONG other revenue sources. I'm shocked you're ignorant of this basic knowledge.

2. We are discussing the productivity of states /regions and NOT national productivity. Pay Attention.

TSRC:
What are you about?
IGR is a function of taxation. It is about the state.
The bigger the taxes, the bigger the IGR.
Has nothing to do with you.
A state like anambra with relatively a significant industrial sector can have low taxation as an economic policy, which would invariably lead to a relatively low IGR.

[s]Nigeria's productivity is hinged on commerce, oil, agriculture, and the en[/s]tertainment industry.
I was expecting you to tell me how your people contribute to those sectors, not mindless mumbo jumbo.

There are not much green grasses in the North.
Not really, the issue is that the grasses are seasonal and usually dry up after the rainy season which is shorter in the North, prompting migration.

mikkyjay:
I know you are a known Igbo hater here, but what do you think is called productivity?
And why do you think South East is the least productive region?
Simple.

The entire Internally Generated Revenue (measures the internal productivity from economic activities in a state) of the 5 states combined is the least of the 6 regions.

Apart from being the tiniest and most politically insignificant region of course.

Not hate, just facts my fellow Fulani "lover".

PoliticsRe: Nigeria's 36 States & FCT Ranked In Order Of Land Mass: Photos by QuotaSystem: 12:45pm On Sep 30, 2019
Lol you guys are so deluded you no longer think before drumming chest grin

So which state "indiscriminately increased taxation" which boosted their IGR? Is it in Northern Japan? You have lied to yourselves that you're greater than everyone else for so long that the actual reality stings you so sharply that you must continue to lie no matter how brainlessly ridiculous it sounds.

Let's even imagine your excuse was valid, wouldn't the ability for businesses in the more productive states to pay those "high taxes" and STILL remain in business an indicator of higher economic prosperity?

How does your "excuse" change the fact that Igbo STATES generate the least revenue internally within their 8 X 6 states?

Don't even bother to answer cool

TSRC:
The contributions of the South east indigenes to the Nigerian economy is beyond internally generated revenue which is more often than not a product of tax.

If I decide to indiscriminately increase taxation in anambra, the igr would rise.
But that is just lazy economics.

Check out any productive sector of Nigeria and tell me who plays it better than the Igbo.

When you compare population size to IGR, I really dont think SE is at the bottom ten.
By this, are you then admitting that all you people have been saying about the North having a large but unproductive population was all rubbish fit for the same latrine?.

Simply put, so the North's massive population is now suddenly productive which is the reason the SE lags behind?

Interesting fact is that the SE is not only the tiniest in land mass, but is also the least productive region.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria's 36 States & FCT Ranked In Order Of Land Mass: Photos by QuotaSystem: 9:09am On Sep 30, 2019
For your information (though I suspect you're aware), apart from being the tiniest region, the SE also has the smallest internally generated revenue making it the least productive region.

That makes your logic perfect for a pit latrine smiley

Esseite:
Not being regionalistic, but majority of those large one up there are just big for nothing..

If the smallest can be the most productive while the largest can be the most unproductive, we can come to the conclusion, the bigger the ******

The pure and undiluted fact cool

PDP have realized that Atiku is no longer cumming so they have switched full gear into propaganda mode. They are so devastated in defeat that they're now running helter skelter like a chicken that lost its head grin

They will print the posters to test public opinion, then turn around to blame the FG for not focusing on governance but 2023... we know them. Anything to distract PMB and Starboy gives them super erection.

This is just the beginning, very soon they will start printing their candidates next to PMB again out of desperation and total confusion cheesy

But as e dey pain them...e dey sweet us kiss

This is not unconnected to his humility, competence and undivided loyalty to President Buhari.

He stands a very good chance of succeeding his boss in 2023.

So help him God.

You're just another indictment on Nigeria's failed educational system.

Arrogant while completely ignorant.

https://punchng.com/nigeria-earns-600m-annually-from-leather-exports-report/amp/

Leather brings in $600m dollars annually into Nigeria's coffers. You must think the government is silly in investing heavily specifically in livestock. You are totally clueless of the matter before you, yet you mindlessly throw invectives about while pretending to know what you're saying.

Cows are 100 times more important to our national economy and food security than pigs. Let that sink in.

Spare me the remaining contents of your handicapped brain.

BUSINESSARENAA:
Lots of money indeed from leather, we all know in this country that the cow skin is converted to kpomo and consumed, it is even so alarming that the government is begging people to stop, the till date, Nigeria is importing all sorts of kpomo,.

Go to the abattoir and check how many of the cows killed in a day, and show me who has time to start the process of converting the skin to leather, obviously you lied. Nobody has that time there.

Then also, it has been proving over and over, that the owners of those cows are the rich Alhajis, why will the government not tax them as they are raking in billions, as it is completely private business that has fully developed, yet neglecting the part of the husbandry trying trying too develop.

Let me tell you, the government does not generate lots of money from any cow skin in Nigeria, if it has been as you claimed, we won't be borrowing to pay salaries as we would have been exporting leather.

I would have gone on and on but I looked at your moniker, I have to stop here so I don't confuse a "quota system" brain as its obvious there's a limit to its understanding of events.

Good bye.

As expected, everything about the difference in strategic importance of the different food products flew over your head.

P. S The government generates a lot of money from leather, so taxing the practitioners instead of giving them incentives to encourage and boost production will hurt and not help government revenue generation.

How much do pigs bring in? Don't flatter yourself.

Facts only.

BUSINESSARENAA:
Goood, I love the dimension you took this discussion to.

And I ask how much tax these cattle rearers are paying the government despite raking in billions of Naira on a daily basis? None.

Yet the government of the day is wasting tax payers money on people that will never pay tax.

Also note, for the fact you don't consume pig does not mean others don't, so to them it's a good business and a livestock.

FACT.
