Tens of thousands of people have been appointed to various positions in government from the local to federal level since 1960; how many have done ANYTHING worth remembering ; any Innovation? The only thing we mostly remember is that they all become richer after stealing billions. Very very few; if any in AN ENTIRE nation. In almost 60 years. The few that come to mind like NAFFACs Dora Akinyuli and EFCCs Ribadu. You make a good point. I noticed some interesting innovations by the new appointee while he served @ CBN so let's keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best. |

Of course. Tinubu has paid the price.
Tinubu has been loyal to the political interests of President Buhari/Arewa and will therefore enjoy the backing of his support base come 2023 when the presidency rotates to the south and he officially declares his intention to run.
We will come out en-masse just like we did against Atiku. We are men of honor, and his loyalty will be paid back in kind. #Amana |

Politics › Re: FG Reacts To Killing Of Nigerian Pastor By Chinese Government by QuotaSystem: 2:10pm On Aug 15, 2019 |
Nobody is justifying any killing. It is clear you didn't follow this case from the start. He was never shot. They never intended to kill him. He was tazed (electric shock) and then he died as a result which could happen due to medical complications. Tazers are used globally by security agents, especially in the western countries you mentioned, to immobilize a non-co-operative suspect. simplesearch: Is killing a justification for violation of visa related offence? In all fairness, going by his status I suppose he should know better to always play by the rules especially in a far away country like china known for their high handedness, but still not a sufficient ground to kill the man. Migrants abroad do this a lot, even in Libya people without paper sometimes jump into the sea to evade arrest in those good old days, do such actions give the operatives license to shoot them. Do you know how many Indian and Chinese are living illegally in Nigeria? they may not be easily apprehended or published in national daily because of the laxity on the part of our immigration officers and how easily they get off the hook when it happens does not translate to them having a clean sheet, would they have done that to a British or an American citizen. If only you know what happens around Allen avenue in those days you won't be typing this. He wasn't even caught dealing in drugs and even if this is the case aren't there procedure to follow in any criminal related matter however aggravated the case may be, why shoot him dead for merely trying to evade or escape arrest. We shouldn't sell off our own so easily, it makes the outside world see us as unreasonable set of people. Sane country of the world like America will fight tooth and nail to get their own back home, to face the jail term no matter the offence and you are there defending illegality. |
Politics › Re: Ohaneze Ndigbo Blasts Shehu Sani Over Comments On 2023 Presidency by QuotaSystem: 1:40pm On Aug 15, 2019 |
Chiwude: The Igbo political elites don't hate Tinubu. His thirst for power and the way he used the Oba of Lagos in the 2015 Gubernatorial elections to threaten Ndigbo brought that skepticism. If the APC presents an Igbo consensus candidate, the SE/SS in the PDP will drop the idea of supporting a northerner. Wike and his associates in the PDP are not fools to gift the north another 4 years when they've ruled for 8 years already. The SW cannot eat her cake and have it. Tinubu is comnf out when others haven't tasted it. The SW have ruled for 8 years, they've had VP positions twice and Speaker thrice. So on what ground are you jostling for Presidency this time around, when it was the same sympathetic cause you were gifted the Presidency in 1999. Unfortunately the igbos lack anything to attract sympathy to themselves, especially on political grounds because of the extreme antagonistic position it has taken against northern political interests, and total rejection of the APC/Tinubu camp. It will be a freezing day in hell the day the APC will even consider giving it's presidential ticket to the South East. |

You should be thanking your stars that the FG is intervening in a case where the victim was clearly resisting arrest for an established crime. Besides how come 'Pastor's' church have not said " peem"? I ask because the first report stated it was his nickname, but suddenly he is being referred to as a clergyman that ran from police arrest.
