He already led from the front when he was Zelensky’s age (as seen in his photo @ Owerri during the biafran war).
Even as a civilian President in his late 70’s, he has made several visits to Maiduguri in the heat of the BH war.
I still have my reservations regarding his handling of insecurity generally, but the comparison was dead on arrival.

VaselineCrew: Bottom line is that we need to do better, but when will that ever happen?
Our police don’t do drills. Even private companies do fire drills that they take seriously, yet our police don’t do any response drills. no drills to cut response times, No drills on how to blockade a part of town should the need arise. There are only so many roads people can use and with the right emergency blockade, you can effectively cordon off an area.
Anyways one can only keep on hoping for a better force, and a better country. Word. Cheers. |

VaselineCrew: I agree totally!
However, we all know that it is extremely rampant here in Nigeria.
Even I was almost a victim of soldier brutality in my own estate simply because I greeted soldiers “good evening”! Don’t have time to tell the whole story, but it was all because I said “good evening”.
At least those ones abroad get punished when caught.
See how the whole world was screaming George Flyods name, yet at the time, Nigerian police had murdered 22 Nigerians because of COVID curfew.
Yet NO ONE REMEMBERS THE NAMES OF YHESE NIGERIANS! Indeed I agree it’s more rampant which could likely be attributed to less effective internal discipline mechanisms, as well as ignorance/insensitivity to human rights on this end. When that is then mixed with a population that seems to give moral support to the proscribed terrorists killing such soldiers at will, then the tendency for abuses goes up a few notches. |

VaselineCrew: Before even terrorist, soldiers still intimidated civilians.
Telling someone’s father to frog jump in front of his children got a simple traffic offense. Why not hand them over to a court to pay a fine?
Soldiers that have been telling civilians to swim in gutters.
Don’t act like Nigerian soldiers haven’t been this way since even your childhood. Of course there are indisciplined deviants that abuse the vulnerable in forces across the world, including the US Army. Ever heard of waterboarding? Google the atrocities of US Soldiers in Guantanamo Bay. |

“But what I wonder is when Kanu was simply in Europe, abusing this administration and mentioning too many things, I never thought really he wanted to voluntarily come and defend himself on the accusations he has.
“So, we’re giving him an opportunity to defend himself in our system and not to be abusing us from Europe as if he was not a Nigerian. Let him come here with us and then criticise us here in Nigeria, let him be listened to. Classic PMB It amuses me to see that some people thought the terrorist Kanu would not account for all his insults and instigation of killings of Nigerian security agents and other innocent Nigerians while he was in the UK? Really? The one that takes the cake is that these same people expect that the terrorist would be unconditionally released from his cage after we picked him up from Kenya - after tolerating his provocation for so long - with so much surgical precision that ICOB "intelligence" had no idea he had been captured for 8 days. Lol keep dreaming as it would be easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle before that happens. Did they think Ojukwu was a fool for seeking pardon and campaigning for Shagari after wasting millions of his people and fleeing to Ivory Coast in a similar agitation 50+ years ago? Those that fail to learn from the experiences of their forefathers are bound to repeat the same mistakes. Lamidi Kanu will be wiser in choosing his opponents next time if he ever survives this. |

On 29th June 2007, your Vice President Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan visited regional agitators in Camp 5 with a message of peace, and the process was agreed upon. Ignore the mischievous title. |

Unfortunately all you scribbled down there doesn't explain the tactlessness and gaping lack of strategy in burning bridges and building walls where bridges should be built. Without rotation any southern candidate can win the elections (like Abiola did and PYO will do) as long as they form alliances with the North (instead of tactlessly alienating them) which is the largest and most powerful voting & political bloc in the country not only by states. mandax: Licking people’s ass is your own perception of tact and strategy.
The presidency is rotated because of the lopsided political structure of Nigeria created by northern soldiers to favor north with 19 states, but 2 old southern regions have only 17 states. Land mass is never used as yardstick to create states in a country formed by different regions.
Creating excess number of 19 states in the northern region tilted political power too much to the northern region. Rotation is the only way a southern presidential candidate can win presidential election in Nigeria, provided north is not supporting any northern presidential candidate.
A presidential candidate must win 25% of votes in 24 states before proclaimed winner. Do the Maths. |
