safarigirl: Lol, which street corners? 8 packs where? Chiseled body where? We don't have any such thing. Na bar dey every street corner, odekwu boys and people that have smoked weed so much they have dried up. I hope it is not the dry chests and hunger-induced '6-packs' that you claim Nigerian girls have excess of, as if it is something worth celebrating.
There is more money in Nigeria, than 6-packs. Let us be guided please. There is a difference between AJ's 6-pack, and Natty kind of 6-pack.
And white girls don't care for your money or your build, na knacks dem dey find, so, they are only interested in your dick game....but, that is not to say white girls don't care about money, because they do. That is why they latch onto black athletes with identity crisis.
I don't know what street you live on...you don't get 6 packs only in the gym...well maybe not as refined as the gym ones...but 6 packs dey street wells..hunger doesn't give 6packs...but steady monstrous beans and garri plus serious hard labour can.. They may be hungry looking but it doesn't mean they cant have a chiseled body from hand work...have you met Carpentars and bricklayers, boys that break concrete with just chisel and hammers...I tell you they are well chiseled....
komekn: There are two approaches to this phenomenon if you like, one is a very light hearted one that emanates from the social dynamics and in a sense reverse racism as is exemplified by CurtisAxel7 questions. I will write two different posts and this is just to give it a bit of context.
Then you get into the historical as well as contemporary socio -cultural dynamics of counter establishment movements that some call revolutionary and other the perversion and immoral break down of societal norms and values. That’s very academic and can result in multiple academic based research papers and intellectual dispositions. But without any consensus agreement and or conclusions. Essentially the more you look, the more you see and the less you understand. That’s the kind of dialogue that Rabzy opens with his question.
I will really approach it from a perspective of personal experience and my Afrocentric heritage as well as my Eurocentric appreciation by birth and interaction professional and social.
When I was in Nigeria, I had my cousins who were mixed race who we had lived in close proximity when we were in the UK. As a consequence, on return to Nigeria we were very close, we were always hanging out.
At age 14 we were all driving our parent’s cars and going to places we really had no business going to at that age. Which brought us into contact with lots of females. Uniben was one of our places of interest.
There was then an obsessive, incomprehensible, mind boggling and shameless fixation sexual and otherwise with mixed race kids (SafariGirl) may be able to explain because I cannot. I remember when we would get to if I’m right Hall 1, I immediately became a GHOST, none of the females could see me. But were falling over themselves like dogs on heat to get closer to my cousins. Meanwhile I was an invisible spectator. That was then;
As we reach England, matter change THE HUNTED became the discarded and the invisible became the much more desirable visible.
Before we proceed there are some very distinct differences between the dynamics of relationships in the Nigerian context between men and women and in general European women and men.
First thing most European women are not hungry and are seeking personal fulfillment by way of companionship and in addition blow my mind and my head off and scatter my brain bedroom athletics. And as such an illiterate brick layer with muscles in his head and an 8 pack alludes to that promise add to the fact that he is black and its bingo. So having a PHd, X6 and triplet sized pregnancy beer belle will give you no Kudos.
On the other hand i find the vast majority probably 75% of women in the Nigerian context are looking for £££$$$ and that always remains a central theme in my experience all the time, even unto marriage.
Nice one, thanks. It is definitely one of the factors. Iris a case of going after what you don't have. The Nigerian girls have a shitload of bricklayer, 8packs chiseled bodied in every street corner but hardly anyone with the dough, while the white girls have the dough but hardly any chiseled rock solid body to play with
Curtisaxel7: That explains a lot. But then what percentage of the Western population sympathized with the counterculture movement? I would think only a comparatively small percentage did. Most of them were still racist. And how do we account for the mixed babies we produced in Russia (then Soviet Union), and Eastern Europe where there was virtually no such pacifist or pro black movement and open and unapologetic racism was almost a state policy (even till today)?.
All counterculture movements are always in the minority and it was predominantly filled with young people, and they wouldn't even be the majority youth, but that number is enough to have young women that would want to go out with young blacks. Remember black Africans were still a very very small minority in those schools..so it is not a numbers issue. But like I said there are definitely other factors....
Black people have always been in Europe even eastern Europe. Abram petrovich Hannibal was a Russian military general and engineer in the army of Peter the Great of Russia...the father of Russia. There was a yoruba man that was part of the polish resistance, who was noted for his bravery and loyalty in the face of nazi atrocities during the 2nd world war....so mixed race kids in eastern Europe is not surprising
honeyB2018: Pastor Poju, is 100% wrong. I'm not surprised he can spew this nonsense. Lots of people, don't see and understand what Bishop Oyedepo and Pastor Oyakhilome Chris is seeing and talking about. Lots of you, toeing the line of thought of Pastor Oyemade, don't know, the power of the cooperate church. If you know, you will not be in his support. You don't know, what damage, spiritually the closure of the place of worship has done to lots of believers, lots of Christians will never be the same after this lockdown and closure Wait till the closure is lifted, then you will understand. I stand with Bishop Oyedepo and Pastor Chris. Oyakhilome.
What were they before and what will they become...mchew
They should include pastors and miracles for the trials...I no want hear say, they didn't invite us or fg prevented us bla bla from them after the whole thing has ended
komekn: I will reply to this comprehensively later in the day, you will not be suprised to know that many of these forgotten children have father's who are VERY HIGHLY PLACED.
Some find thier hidden escapades somewhat embarrassing.
Definitely am sure. Traveling abroad in 50s,60s was not for the general masses, many were princes and sons of prominent people. Many are expected to come back and inherit the throne or continue their fathers legacy.
Curtisaxel7: I find it rather strange the large number of mixed race babies our Nigerian men were able to produce in Europe and America in the 60's, 70's and 80's.
How were they finding it so easy to get white women to date despite the heavily racist nature of Oyibo land in those days?. And most of those men were students, and struggling young men. So, we can't say the white women loved them for their money. What exactly made them attractive to white women?. Could it be that the women just wanted to taste something different (as black men were rather rare in Europe back then and were considered to be strange objects of curiosity)?.....or are the rumors about white women's love for black men's di.cks true?. .
Komekn, Tbaba1234, Mujtahida, and all abroadians in the house I would especially love to hear your opinions on this please.
There was a great counterculture movement that developed in Europe and America during the 1960s. It is often called the hippies movement. Generally it was just a rebellion against the standards of society and protests against established norms. The vegan movement, feminism, gay sex and sexual freedom, drug experimentation and legalization, anti-war and pacifist movements, civil rights movement, make love not war music by John lennon, music of rebellion by the great rock bands including our own fela and his british wife etc all blossomed during the 60s and 70s. Students were in the trenches and forefront of such movements and what better way to eschew and spit on societal norms than to join your blood and heritage with a forbidden and spurned race.
And many of our men then were quite exceptional, remember it was the best of us that were sent abroad and such brilliance, courage and resilience would always be admired..and of course there is that curiosity of checking out if all the centuries old rumors of the prowess of the black men in bed.
So quite a number of factors came to play I guess.
bonnyhope: You are all attacking this pastor with out raising a single point to counter his opinion If you feel he is wrong, come out and prove him wrong. Who is a fool here?
What proof did the pastor bring. He was just talking, no data, no analysis, no examples...just talk. The onus lies on him to show us with all his data and evidence that it doesn't work, both the lockdown and mask. Then come up with something better, maybe like anointing oil.
abbey621: Except the man never said disinfectant like spray or bleach, he was talking about using light to disinfect the body, this treatment while unproven or untested is certainly a possibility that should be looked at for crucial cases especially since warmer regions are showing more resistance to the virus than colder ones. The way the opening post was written suggested he was talking about your household disinfectants like Dettol or something.
I don't need no post, I watched the actual presentation and someone has posted it. He rambles like a kid...never finishing one sentence before jumping to the other..and I know what I heard and every other intelligent and no biased persons understands what he said. He said if there is a way they can bring the light inside the body, that they should test that...then he move on to disinfectants, that it knocks out the virus in a minute, then if there is a way we can do something like that..in reference to bringing it inside the body like light..then he specifically said by injection inside...inside what...again..is it not the body.. I don't know how you want to twist that Whatever the case he should give his suggestions during the hours of briefings to his people and get them to work on it and not come and spout half-baked ideas to the world
Centcanada: when he speaks, all doctor's take note of it. He Is only suggesting. He is not a doctor either. Stop talking as if you know any thing more than Trump
There is no harm in suggesting, they are his appointees, they all came out from briefings, he should have made all his suggestions to them. Coming to a press conference and saying it, then he is suggesting to the whole world. What does he expect people to do with the info..if not to go and try out disinfectants. No other president in the world is making such hasty and crazy suggestions....
He is the president, he should get his men to work on his half-baked ideas, when it is cooked and done, he can come and beat his chest to us, that he solved it. Mad man.
TheGoodJoe: I think Okocha's tactical intelligence was highly unappreciated due to his insane magical technical abilities on the ball. If you watch out for Okocha's passing abilities and how on many occasions he created scoring chances for us, he will get more respect.
Watch the pass Okocha gave to Garba Lawal at 1:34 of this clip in the match between Nigeria and Spain in our opener in France 98 World Cup. He pulled of a trick to draw the attention of the Spaniards to him and in a split second saw the wide space Garba was in and then a very brilliant pass. So insane.
Thank you chief. In the friendly game against Brazil, okocha gave two brilliant passes that should have resulted in goals...mba, nah so dem throw way am. Okocha is always looking up for players to pass to, always, often times someone that should be running into positions will stay too close to him expecting to be passed to, okocha knows where the ball is and keeps rolling and moving it and avoiding tackles while watching out for who to pass to. I have been frustrated more from players not being able to trap his passes, not anticipating his pass and squandering chances than from all his showboating because he often gets pass his man and makes his pass.
That pass was beautiful and sublime, but do you know how many of such passes okocha has given to our players and strikers and they could not even trap the ball?, Okocha loves to showboat and oftentimes in doing that he drags players out of position and gives good passes that many of our guys wasted.
God will definitely punish Bill Gates for his extreme wickedness.
So Bill Gates is so broke, he needs to invent a virus, hoodwink all the governments of the world, the doctors and the scientists and kill off a large percentage of the World's population , so that he can be stupendously rich...continue.. you are doing well
somehow: Let the vulnerable stay indoors instead so that the healthy can continue running activities, if not the world will suffer more once recession hit deeper.
We have more people in the informal sector than any other sectors, who will feed them when they can't make money? You guys are comparing countries 5 times older and more organized to ours. They have paid their dues and outgrown the stage we are now, so they can afford to sustain a standstill economy for a while. Can Nigeria do such? Oil is selling for less than $30 against $56 benchmark in your budget and you even borrow to run your country. In the next 2 weeks, Nigeria will know what's up if everything is grounded.
So who defines the healthy and vulnerable, how do you know you are healthy enough to fight it, the healthy would bring the disease to the so called vulnerable..and of course young and healthy people have been dying from it, doctors and nurses are also dying due to their exposure.
Even when you survive from it, the lungs can be so damaged, that it could lead to complications and other health issues latter.
The govt should just be sensible, loans can be given to people for them to survive this period and they can pay back when things get better...a sincere govt will find some measures to ease the pain.
somehow: Let me put you to test, did you check the links I dropped? How many of the deadly diseases have you called for a lockdown for?
If you have read the suggestion I made, you would not have typed this weak comment, but then most of you dont read, especially a simple-minded person like you.
Oga lock down is a measure taken based on the contagiousness of the disease as advised by health experts. This is for the sake of containment. There was a time if you had chicken pox you would be quarantined, I remember I was quarantined. Now there are effective treatments, those measures are no longer needed.
Which of the diseases you mentioned is as contagious as covid19 and which of them has no vaccine or something that can help cure it, and which of them, and which of them would a lockdown had been effective against. When ebola was on rampage, there were lockdowns in Congo, Sierra Leone and liberia, even a village in the east was placed on lockdown when one of the nurses fled there. If we don't lockdown, the whole health system can collapse and we would be dying of every opportunistic diseases that we have already been handling.
kingthreat: As in no single respect for the dead?? Because someone passes out, you leave him to die and that's it? Geez, what is wrong with the black man? If you pass out during training in the military, worst case scenario you will not be qualified for active war service. Or you will be taken off and the choice is yours if you want to enroll in the army again. But in confraternity drilling in Nigeria, you will be beaten mercilessly by your so-called would be brothers. And if you pass-out in the process you will be shot and killed. Upon your own money? For something that would not give you a dime? Sorry to say cultism is a big illogical scam. It is pure futility and satanic. You will be involved in bad habits. drugs, irresponsible sexual behaviour, smoking, alcohol You will be involved in murder and unnecessary brutality You will be involved in crime, election rigging, fraud, armed robbery, theft, etc. You will be involved in diabolical fetish acts and make covenants with darkness You stand risk of living an irresponsible life and estranging yourself from family and friends Your risk your life being eventually cut short
I feel it is the duty of families, churches, mosques, secondary schools to orientate the youths going to tertiary institutions on the madness of cultism. Bravo to everyone positively contributing to this thread. Be rest assured, your stories are saving lives with the tendency to go astray.
This information should be taken to secondary schools and universities all around the country....there should be a massive demystification and education process for the youths about this...NUC and the education board needs to do it....let them take the awe, secrecy and respect from it
Perkins1: Baba I'm actually talking about Uwelu (Spare parts) it was a hot zone I must tell you.
Then 3rd East Circular Road and St. Savior.
Well the whole truth is, cultism is bullshit. Its devilish and stupid. No matter how strong or hard you imagine yourself to be You will be miserable and a loser. Avoid cultism by all means, denounce wholeheartedly. My friend thought I was joking when I told him enough of game for me. I'm a Process Engineer. I can't be doing this. I'm the only son of my parents amidst 3 Girls. I must tell you... My initiation was so gruesome I am still suffering fear anytime I remembers it (14 years ago) 36 of us went there as intending. Only 31 came out alive. 31 of us, only 17 was handed OT because our forms and monies were paid in full. Other received beatings FOC. At times I wished I was just beaten and allowed to go without OT.
Thank God for life tho. Please if you have anyone with cultist tendencies. Show him how it will end. No time will it not end in tears. No time. Spits!!
Sorry guy, am just curious, those that never came back..what stories are given to their friends and families..what did these people think happened to them. Because a lot of the initiations people mentioned here, young kids are just being wasted and we never get to hear about it, at least people would know a hit....but this one is just missing people or what
somehow: Because your bible told you to respect elders and not call anyone a fool. don't you have a bible? At least the man is a grandfather to some of us here and even great grand father to some people here. You can criticize but with decorum. This is my point sir.
Not everyone cares about what the Bible says, dont hold people up to your standards except it is mutually agreed as a standard. While i may not call an older person a fool, it does not mean he is not a fool and it might probably be better to tell him. For example there is the video of an idiot in the national assembly, that had a mask on, and when he wanted to sneeze he pulled down his mask sneezed and then pulled it back up....that guy with his grey hair is a certified fool.
I dont want to mention Jesus because before Abraham was, Jesus was....John the baptist called the pharisees and Sadducees, who are elders and leaders of the nation....offsprings of vipers.
yet the economy did not fall, the naira mantain a good grab against the dollar, i can go on and on,
so if they were people siphoning left, right, and center under him,
how is it that things still stands strong under him
Things still stand strong in comparison to which govt? Obj abdusalam or abacha...our economy has been on a downward trajectory, nobody has broken the downward trend
Humility017: Me too I don't pity them Only pity the poor man on the streets who wil be affected by this government maladministration to provide good health care....
I still can't think the rationale behind the health minister talk that Nigeria has the facilities and more than capable to tackle this virus even some folks here persons I taught could be more reasonable where even saying Nigeria was better organised than the UK, US and Italy in tackling this virus
Now it is fast be coming something else
Brother I live in Abuja up till now the minister of fct have done nothing strict as regard public gatherings, transport system and others in tackling the spread of this diseases.
This government is the worst ever.....I have seen
Even the looter called Jonathan would have closed the border on time at least that would have curtail its spread
Nigeria's initial response was fine, but there is no country that has the capacity to prepare for this onslaught..no country in the world was adequately prepared..some just took adequate measures, our borders could have be shut earlier and our politicians should have shot when they refused screening and testing....now they are infecting themselves up and down
I watched the Governor’s press briefing and he said it excludes markets that sell essential items like food and medicine. Some Nigerian journalists and their incomplete news.
Thanks for this clarification, because I am wondering what madman would lock markets.
kellycute: you are very correct. Jesus is black. The book of revelation described his feet... His feet were like "polished bronze". What's the color or bronze?. If you know you know. They changed the whole things including the names. Let me stop here joor.
There are many ancient civilizations that interacted with the ancient Israelites, they were never described as blacks
Angrymode: I fear for everyone in this country with our careless government. A country where majority don't go for checkup when sick and the government feels they are managing the viral spread well. How can they even even say that when not up 0.01% of the population has been tested?
Look closely and you will see the death death rate for people already sick and the elderly has spiked slightly.
With this one our borders are still open, I can categorically say the virus is in every state and FCT already. Well, in GOD we commit ourselves because our government is stupid and lie about everything.
HIV test is absolutely free or next to nothing with testing centers virtually everywhere but how many of us get tested every 6 months to know our status? Yet we are relaxed about this Covid 19 as if GOD gave us inbuilt immunity against it. I pity us all!!!
Where are you looking that no one else sees. Chief stop talking as if you have hard facts. Oyinbo flu has never thrived in our climate. Flu kills them all the time in cold climate, it has never been a major concern here
SonofDevil: When ooni said ife was the cradle of world civilization people never believed.this sculpture left in the 6 century now we re in 21st century meaning it left ife almost 2000 years ago
Oga it didn't leave ife 2000 years ago, ife bronze work are 15th to 17th works and this particularl sculpture was recently bought and the person wanted to smuggle it into Mexico but was impounded at the airport
