chillex8: Over 90% of viral carriers in the first half-14days of lockdown should have been negative. So where are the new and increasing infections coming from in the second half-14days of lockdown? Albeit new test kits and increasing coverage of testing
This comment is perplexing... The infections are coming from the symptomatic that passed it on.
Felicity0001: I'm can bet my balls that after 1 month most of those under lockdown would have died.
I've never won a set of balls before... I would totally take that bet
Where I live, we don't play and have self quarantined way before even Houston said to. NOT. A. SINGLE. CASE. However, down the street there are cases. My estate is mostly old retirees who are supposed to be the most at risk. Do with that what you will.
Gentlelife50: They should do and call this thing off ooo, me I no do again.
Pele.
Honestly I get where everyone is coming from that wants it lifted. If not for the fact that you could pass it to someone who decides to lockdown I would say to each his own. Unfortunately, like vaccines, it only works if everyone does it.
To those saying it's increasing even with lockdown, you've told us exactly why. Ogba and co are not doing it so yes, it will continue to increase. Also, it's not necessarily increasing, it's also that they tested more so they are discovering already existing cases. The more you test, the more you'll find.
Felicity0001: I'm trying to see how much of sense you're trying to make here. If people who r infected can still infect their family members at home how then will social or home distance or lockdown stop same persons from infecting their family members?
ndubuis: Hello, Kindly google the meaning of "hyperbole" . "Millions of miles" was for the sake of emphasis. No where on earth has that much distance from the other.
Again, that woman doesn't live in Houston. The argument started when she claimed that Lagos is not more humid than Houston which is a very ridiculous thing to say. Lagos humidity is always higher than Houston by a whooping 28% all year round. You don't need to live there to understand the difference in weather between Lagos and Houston. The information is out there for you to access. Her claim that Lagos is cooler than Houston points to fact that she knows nothing or was just ignorantly trying to be malicious in other to make a point.
Do your self a favour by doing your own findings than believing what she tells you. She may be living in Kumasi. Never believe what a stranger tells you online.
We know hyperbole very well. E.g. ndubuis is intelligent. Excellent example of hyperbole
Also, I don't hide. UHD stands for University of Houston Downtown. Yes, that's me on the WALL. Everyone on there with me is a C-level executive in a Fortune 500 company. Make I quote Teyana Taylor, Google Me Baby.
Your turn. "Never believe what a stranger tells you online" WHO. IS. YOU?
Simple solution. All of you that want lockdown lifted let us move all of you to one side of town. The rest of the population can now stay in lockdown. THE REST OF YOU ANTI-LOCKDOWN MUST STAY IN YOUR ZONE AND WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO VISIT THOSE IN LOCKDOWN
Bigleaf1006: Yeah!! You should be. You got constant electricity and air-conditioning at ur whim, on here it's really a struggle to even get cold water to drink for most people.
People would even roll over in their cars overnight cos of air conditioning due to the mad heat.
Naija will dance crazy if they can get sub 25°
Believe it or not, in Naija I don't turn the AC on till nighttime and that's only because of mosquitoes and security
Bigleaf1006: Things have really changed, trust me!! Global warming is crazy
However,I think the lockdown is distorting weather patterns around here as well as other parts of the world. The skies are clearer and rain which should have started leaking crazy by now is rather slow. The clearer skies is getting us direct hit from the sun which is reving up temps and making it really uncomfortable
Thank God! For a second I thought I was going to have to argue with you about whether global warming was real. Phew!!!
Let it continue. I'm happiest in 90 degree weather
Bigleaf1006: There hasn't been harmattan in Lagos for as long as i can remember but outside Lagos,it can really get a bit chilling during harmattan.
U hardly get sub 22 23 degrees in naija even during harmattan. If that were possible,it would be paradise over here.
I disagree o. During harmattan Lekki kicks my ass! Where I stay the wind is no joke,I wear thermals and all the work staff wear puffer jackets lol. But back to the coronavirus thing, Houston and Lagos mirror each other so things flip in a month or two. If it's not slowed or stopped now, in a month or two it's really going to suck for Lagos.
Bigleaf1006: I really think you are missing the point, we talking about last 3 months weather averages of both locations and by extension it's relativity to corona virus potency. I think that was the basis for the discourse
Yeah!! Texas can be really hot, that much I would agree.
Also, I think the Trump disinfectant statement was taken a bit out of context.
Found 2019 and 2005-2015! How things change. Easy to spot harmattan now!

No, that's not what I was talking about. I started the discourse because someone had said it couldn't be hotter outside of the context of coronavirus. I believe we have reached a detante
You know what's weird though? Look at the Lagos table. Harmattan didn't use to be so cold. You can't even spot harmattan just by looking at the table!
I actually found older data for Houston. Same years, same source so now it really is a one to one comparison. 1982-2012 Lagos WAS a little hotter most months. With global warming disproportionally affecting industrialised countries, Houston has gotten hotter faster than Lagos. Again, feel free to locate Lagos data for 2009-2019.
Bigleaf1006: Are you f***king kidding me, 30° Lagos? I did be glad if Lagos was this cool all year round.
U need to throw out ur thermometer,I think it's broken. 30° my hot black a**!!
How is my thermometer broken Houston is 19-33 today and Lagos is 26-33. The table clearly showed that Lagos has the advantage Nov-March so what are you so happy about?
Bigleaf1006: Nobody is saying Texas isn't hot, but we are saying, it can't be as hot and humid as Lagos.
Juxtapose The average temperatures of both states Jan to March 2020.
Okay, now what?
That is the latest average temperature per month for 10 years of both cities. If you have newer data for Lagos please share. So which one gets hotter?
Lagos doesn't even crack the 90s and Houston is at 90s for more than half of the year. If you want to talk Celsius, Lagos doesn't even crack 30 and Houston stays over 30 for more than half the year. Shoot, for almost half the months, Lagos's high is about Houston's low!
sexylassie2: it seems like the 2 immigrants from america, when they cant handle questions and comments they turn to memes as their second mode of communication
All the debates we've had you spew meaningless number after meaningless number and can't point to your sources. The few times you DO point to a source it usually shoots you in the foot like the one above and the last time you went against me and slowly disproved your initial argument
So yes, I resort to memes when I don't see any intellectual challenge
ndubuis: One would expect you to come up with a better argument with a bit of reasonable intellect. All I see in your argument is trolls and cynicism. It's not worth it.
ndubuis: You are actually sounding very funny and making me laugh right for suggesting that Lagos is cooler than Houston.
I never said all of North America have the same weather. Is USA, where Texas is located not in North America? Same way Nigeria belongs to Sub Saharan Africa. The point is that it's geographical suicide to compare two contrasting weathers from two different continents millions of miles apart. Don't do it again, please.
There are several factors that make up the climate of a specific region that you will definitely not find in another region. Those topographical similarities should form the basis of any argument. When those factors are not even remotely present or common to both sides, such comparisons should never be. It makes no sense, whatsoever. Alright?
I was right about you not knowing anything about geography. We're done here lol
