izzou: Baba,
I think the man on Awe street has advised us you, because i no too sabi. Logistics is hot currently, but with the influx currently, e go soon become like e-hailing(poor fares), and before you know it, Sanwo-eko go remember that industry
If you have done a comprehensive research, i'll advise you to go on. But make sure you have answered all unanswered questions concerning it, then soak your chaplet inside water and look up to the skies
But don't think of abroad now. Covid-19 go affect that place where you wan run go.
You can make it here bro. You can Very true. At least not USA. Economy is in shambles, unemployment rate is almost 30%, businesses folding up left, right and center. I DID NOT CALL YOU INTO THIS CONVERSATION. YOU KNOW YOURSELF. If you must leave, go to a Nordic country. |

We are franchising. There are to be 10 stores across the country. We just have very high standards finding franchisees. We can even convert existing shops (at owner's cost) and provide continuous training and support if they meet our standards and are willing to follow or protocol. We also wanted to make sure that we could support our franchisees to the fullest that's why we did not open the Ikeja location last year. GIG really set us back and we had to thoroughly vet multiple logistics companies which takes time. In Naija everyone starts well then gets comfortable and starts messing up. Because of that our shipping costs went up from $3.39/lb to $5/lb and I absorbed the loss so prices didn't go up for customers. Yes, no repairs for now because at 5,000 people tested we had 7 deaths and 305 cases in Nigeria. At 23,835 we have 117 deaths and 3,912 cases So even with limited testing, infection rate went from 6.1% to 16.4% post lockdown. Mortality rate went from 0.14% to 0.49% If we reopen the shop, the staff would have to enter public transport with no social distancing and God knows who, especially those who live very far away. Drop in revenue due to forex will not allow us to offer a transportation option. So all we can do is cut costs by having some staff work online sales from home while continuing to pay the techs partial salaries. That way they have something coming from us and might be able to do their hustle on the side to supplement if they choose. I will only reopen the shop when infection rates start to decline. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-05-12/nigeria-s-dollar-shortage-pushes-manufacturers-to-the-brink

Lush100: That's called strategizing. Forecasting for expected demand and actioning them now. Hmmm........ pockets sorry profits Yup. Trying to strike a balance between keeping our employees safe both physically and financially, taking care of customers and staying above water. The fall in the naira is making that really hard. I was trying to figure out how to help Uber drivers. Was going to give 5 year warranties on parts and maybe discounts and payment plans. But lack of riders and doing the math at the new exchange rates is not working like I wanted to. We are currently only going to reopen contactless sales and no repairs as everyone will be able to work from home. |

anyibig: Nothing much though. Just feel the need to get a car for work and all that, because I find it really difficult with transportation here in lagos, bikes are no longer operating in my area, getting keke na wahala, just 2 passengers keke don full, and no much keke for this side. But from the report I gathered, I'm told the sonata maintenance cost Alot, and it has a history of engine problems. A friend actually advised me to go for toyota corolla (uber type) since its just a knockabout car I need. Theft magnet. And the sonata is not bad. People just don't maintain them properly. |

noblealuu: @nitigriti please heed to this piece of advice.
I have not been going to work or even working from home, yet I received my April Salary on the 24th. Although the complete salary was not paid but it was a big relief. And yes, my org is a private firm.
Furthermore, my boss was still magnanimous enough to direct us to stay at home this week and observe events unfold. You sure you don't work for me? That's the same day I paid my guys.... |

Babadee1900: As I they type this I they on my bed .We continue tomorrow God willing.
You even have time to tell them you won’t be using AC. Once I get to pick up, I turn off AC and roll the glasses down when riders enters I start trip, none of them so far has asked me why I’m not using the AC. Maybe I’ve been meeting the reasonable ones
Only thing close to a protest from a rider yesterday was one of two who said he won’t be using his face mask because anytime he puts it on he feels like he’s loosing his breath and he might go unconscious. Then he needs to GTFO of your car and go check himself into isolation center mmmchewww. Better yet, let him know you will take him straight there |

nitigriti: Every staff is salaried where I work.
And insensitive or not, it is not right for anyone to expect payment for work that he or she did not do. I disagree because I'm sure if they're like my employees there were many days where they stayed late or come in on their off day without expecting additional payment. So when the tables are turned they should be paid at least partially. |

nitigriti: Something weird happened today at work. My boss calls me and says, "Deji, please prepare the payroll for April; let's pay the staff their salary."
I was dumbfounded for a few seconds. My boss notices that I'm acting confused. He asks me what's wrong.
Me: "Sir, we are not paying April salary. The business didn't open. No member of staff came to work."
My boss stared at me, not believing himself. "Are you sure, Deji?"
Me: "Very sure, sir."
Did I do wrong? Did I not do wrong? Please get him to give them partial payment. It wasn't their fault... |
