But one of these companies has just developed an innovative dividend called "share redistribution", which they will pay to shareholders for the next three years, barring any unforseen shenanigans. essentialone: HISTORICALLY, THESE 28 ACTIVE COMPANIES DO NOT PAY DIVIDENDS. BESIDE THEM, IS THE YEAR THAT THEY LAST PAID ANY DIVIDEND. WILL ANY OF THEM PAY DIVIDEND THIS YEAR 2025?
1) Abbey Mortgage Bank Plc (2011) 2) Austin Laz & Company (has never ever paid Dividend) 3) Champion Breweries (1986) 4) Chams Plc (2019) 5) Daar Communications (has never ever paid Dividend) 6) Deap Capital Management & Trust (2009) 7) E-Tranzact International (2017) 8. Eunisell Interlinked Plc (1999) 9) FTN Cocoa Processors (2010) 10) Golden Guinea Breweries (1997) 11) Guinea Insurance (2010) 12) Japaul Gold and Ventures Plc (2014) 13) John Holt Plc (2005) 14) NCR Nigeria (2011) 15) Oando Plc (2014) 16) Omatek Ventures (has never ever paid Dividend) 17) Regency Alliance Insurance (2019) 18) Royal Exchange (2014) 19) RT Briscoe (2012) 20) SCOA Nigeria (2015) 21) Secure Electronic Technology (2008) 22) Sovereign Trust Insurance (2011) 23) Tantalizers Plc (2012) 24) Thomas Wyatt Nigeria (2011) 25) Union Dicon Salt (2001) 26) Universal Insurance Company (has never ever paid Dividend) 27) Veritas Kapital Assurance Plc (2017) 28) Wapic (Coronation) Insurance (2016)
Sincerely, if you are a lover of Dividends, you should avoid these 28 Companies completely. Unless a miracle happens, none of them will still pay any Dividend in this year 2025. Trade cautiously… |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Raider76: 10:42am On Feb 08, 2025 |
In the case of dividend the exact payment date is usually specified in the announcement. In this case it is almost same as bonus. No allotment date was specified so it is guess work at this point. mikeapollo: That is what usually happens in the capital market when such cut off days are announced(e.g. dividend payments), unless something unusual happens. Even if the issuance is done one month, it would be 30 days (still few days ) The doubt here is probably because of Oando's antecedents but the registrars usually credit shareholders accounts a few days after the cut off date |

But these shares belong to current shareholders TODAY. Is it ok for a company to hold shares belonging to shareholders and be giving them back in tranches over 3 years? This is different from dividends for which the company has to earn profits annually. Anyway these are my views, at the risk of being called an Oando hater by the powers that be here. I was holding since before the AGM, and I have now sold the news. Streetinvestor2: why is it not attractive. This is like paying you dividend twice in a year for the next 3yrs. Many stock can not return equivalent in ratio in dividend like that in a yr |

Well, it has started appreciating. Let's see if it will close above the 31.50 resistance level today. zendi: Why quietly? There's glut of bank stocks for him to accumulate as he likes. And that's why you rarely have appreciations to show for the accumulations. |

I believe you don't own any Oando shares. Because I don't think any minority shareholders who know the potential capital gain in Oando shares in the next year or two will ask for cash, or any other option, at this time. BabsO2: They can always steal whatever they want to steal if they are bent on it. And they can distribute as they deem fit. So no worries. But if they have decided to distribute shares they better monetize it to improve profits while giving out something immediately to shareholders also. They can always continue chop profits in fat emoluments etc instead of creditors collecting a larger chunk. Abi OandO is part of the creditors ni. |

Petroleum marketing is actually a very low margin business. What kept these companies going are the side wuru wuru of import of substandard products ar inflated prices for NNPC, inflated subsidy payments, bridging charges, high artificial prices through the creation of scarcity, and the chain of black marketing petrol stations along interstate highways. All these sources of arbitrage have now been blocked, except the import one, which they are sustaining, by fire by force, with the collusion of their NNPC partners. So, I expect that the fundamentals of companies like MRS, Total, Conoil and Eterna will not support their current market prices going forwards unless they diversify. emmaodet: The most disheartening about this report is that Total released a Q4/24 forecast of revenue 238b, actual is 248b which is more than the forecasted. Net profit forecasted is 5.69b, actual is just 399m. A whooping 93% downside. Forecasted eps of #16.7, actual is #1.17 |

The way the AGM resolution was drafted makes the effective date to be determined by the Board. It is very conceivably that the Board may even choose to stick with the AGM approval date. They may also choose a date in the future depending on the their readiness status. So there is a risk to consider when deciding whether to buy now or not. mikeapollo: The qualifyng date has not been fixed, so you can buy tomorrow and benefit. But make sure you buy before the board meeting date of 30 January, to be very sure. |
