Market is full of JIJO and smart money people. You get 20-30%, get out. MTN has reputation of disappointing people with high expectations. All the expected revenue increase from the tariffs will disappear in their accounting books. It happened before. Sunrisepebble: It seems MTNN sellers don’t want us to make first money of the year. The Prophet is like a comet. When he appears something is about to happen that will shake the price of Oando. And he comes to reassure the faithful. ProphetUtuocha: I have received so many private messages inquiring of the prospects for Oando. To these folks, I say as follows: For now, Oando is like a huge elephant Resting, refreshing and rejuvenating It can't be shaken or intimidated When it moves, it shakes off everything And moves in strength and glory
Mark this: This is a great time to anchor. Oando will surely cruise pass 120. DYDD |

I have a situation too regarding UNIC INSURANCE. I had substantial shares when it was suspended from then NSE, and when later NIACOM withdrew their license. Even though they were said to have been taken over by a South African company, there was no talk of paying off shareholders. So I thought I lost my money. But recently I got to see my account with the Registrar, and my shares are there listed and valued. Of course, the shares are no longer listed with my broker and CSCS. The company was never liquidated, to my knowledge, but only had their license withdrawn. What could be the explanation of this? essentialone1: On a particular stock, my statement of account from the Registrar, shows that I still have some units of shares in that company.
But on my CSCS Statement of Account, no record of it. Also, on my trading portfolio, with my stockbroker, no record of it.
I have contacted CSCS to resolve it, they asked me to contact my Stockbroker.
I have contacted the Registrar about it, they also asked me to contact my Stockbroker.
But my Stockbroker has no record of the stock, as it says, I have already sold off all the units I had, since long ago.
Note since then till now, I have been receiving dividends from this company, but no sign of it, on my Trading Portfolio.
How can this be resolved? |

Please what happens if the price of the shares you gave as collateral are about to fall below the value of the collateral? Will they do a margin call? emmanuelewumi: I think Emmaodet is intelligent enough, 15% in 6 months is not bad based on what intelligent investors can achieve in the next 6 months.
Yhe beauty of margin loans is that you are not under pressure of making monthly payments, at maturity you can even pay just the interest and rollover the principal for as long as possible |

Is the deadline for filing previous year financial results for stocks with December 31 year end, June 30 or March 31? If Oando really wants to regularize their financial reporting schedule they must report 2024 audited results no later than 31st March 2025. mikeapollo: I think Oando's share redistribution would not go beyond Mar2025, roughly 3 months after the AGM, which was held as part of corporate action with respect to the accounts for financial year 2023. Oando always delays in releasing their audited accounts, usually after the deadline of June 30, which would be more than 6 months after the AGM, so there could be pressure on them to get it done before the 2024 accounts are released. |

The speed with which NNPCL responded to the OBJ interview shows how high the stakes are for them. As you said, it is not easy to predict Wale/Oando, or the market in general. But one scenario I am looking at is that the share redistribution will come as the corporate action of the 2024 Financial Report. That way it will look like, and have the effect of, dividend or bonus payment, and shareholders will be happy. Unfortunately, I have observed that Oando did not give notice of a Closed Period to start January 1st, like other companies are doing. So we may still be in the woods as far as corporate governance is concerned, and one cannot say when the results will be released. megawealth01: Anyone following Wale must do so with a lot of cool cool temper unless na your last card dey there then you might have to get to their office in person to see the secretary for clarifications...
OANDO funds should actually be what you can just put down and ignore because Wale goes by games in the past. Wale will come suddenly with corporate actions maybe when you have given up on him but no allow am tempt you to sell as long as his uncle is still NAIJA CEO. No shaking if you ask me

I think the attraction in Oando now is not price appreciation but the corporate action of share redistribution. If the ratios being speculated materialize, and with no price adjustment and no dilution as is the case with bonus, then you are looking at substantial gains. Heishere: You are thinking in the right direction. Thanks for the info. Will focus my research on Aradel then. Oando is out of the question for now for me. Bought when it was selling below N5 and sold at N70+. Don't see any value for me at current price. |

Thanks. I wonder why people are not rushing to buy then. Omooloriredade: No one knows. Initially, 17/12/24 was proposed but it has since changed following the carried amendments at the AGM. New qualification date is yet to be announced. |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Raider76: 7:15am On Jan 02, 2025 |
On the bolded, how does one know if one is qualified? Omooloriredade: My opinion only: I think I see where you going with that question. However, the US and Qatar will be filling the void created by the exit of Russia following the expiration of gas transit agreements with Ukraine. US and Qatar will be supplying LNG to Europe along with existing suppliers including our very own NLNG.
To answer your question, Oando via the NAOC JV is an existing supplier of gas feedstock to NLNG. Aradel will be joining via the acquisition of SPDC JV assets by the Rennaisance consortium.
Unrelated to your question, imo I expect Oando to deliver a minimum 200% (x3) appreciation to a current holding or position (not SP) provided you qualify for the share distribution and barring any unforeseen significant disruption to field operations.
Have I made wrong calls in the past? You bet! |
