Shameless bloggers. |
Toaskarity:3 Gbosa for you my brother. Subject matter aside, I read the beginning of that inane thread and wasn't myself for some hours after because of the poor logic demonstrated by the writer. The original writer displayed neither critical thought nor originality. I really wonder how he functions in society with that sort of thinking process (I mean no disrespect to him). After all, if Johnbull no talk, dem nor go tell am say hin mouth dey smell. |
Lies from the pit of hell. This NNPC management has perfected the art of lying. So sad. Modified: Well, he may not be lying. Shey they say the fuel queues will "normalize" by weekend... We should expect queues to become a normal thing by weekend. Shior! |
vertueptime:My brother, Two-sided corruption is far worse than one-sided corruption. It is a curse. At least TSA and due process has largely cut down on Executive brigandage. The NASS is as opaque as a blackboard. We have major laws that are outdated, the constitutional way the NASS checks the Executive is by making laws rendering the Executive accountable. Can you name one Senate or House investigation that has gone anywhere? They don't have the capacity. Just imagine, critical laws like the Companies and Allied Matters Act (1990), Investment and Securities Act (2007), Evidence Act (2011), Trademarks Act (1969), Patents and Designs Act (1970), Marriage Act (1900), Land Use Act, Public Procurement Act, Banking and Other Financial Institutions Act and so on need urgent review if we are serious as a country. Meanwhile, the Judiciary is the real check on Executive lawlessness. There are many Judicial reliefs for administrative highhandedness: Certiorari, Mandamus, Habeas Corpus, Interrogatories, Mandatory Disclosure, FOI and so on. |
Saving is a good habit. Its the foundation for financial maturity. Having said that, I hope she didn't post the location of the piggy bank on facebook cos all her neighbors will be looking out. |
There's a very simple reason why our National legislators have abandoned their primary constitutional DUTY of lawmaking in exchange for the lesser role of 'executive oversight'. These jokers use their committees to bully and extort money from MDAs. What has come of all the so-called revelations uncovered by NASS investigations? They only cry foul when they are either shortchanged or left out entirely. The current fuss over the 2018 budget is merely an opportunity for them to pad the budget. The National Assembly needs to be demystified. |
pimpchi:"Just the tip..." Now I've heard it all!! I don't just get how these lines are still around in 2017. |
The West has taken this gender-discrimination bs too far. Anyone that is too fragile to work in the real world should go to a monastery or a nunnery. How do words equate violence or discrimination? Apart from the name-calling, does the boss treat her different or pay her different for the same work? The entitlement mentality of our generation is just astonishing. She has the right to quit and to discontinue work if she feels she can't go on, but to equate name-calling to violence is just laughable. Next thing she will say she's a transgender and anyone who doesn't address her as "they" is discriminatory. Please get a life. |
raker300:Free blame for nonsense leaders and dingo followers. |
Smellymouth:Loool!!! Fatality!! |
lexy2014:My brother, that is not an ordinary stage oh, it is a 'High Place'. E chop money soootey, money come dey chop am. Nor be small pikin mata. |
Big up to COZA and Majek for a record-breaking collabo. From a religious point of view, this sounds very fishy. Isn't this putting Majek on an altar? |
How does anyone know what happened from this clip? Its really unfortunate, cos the woman was molested in public and the man embarrassed himself. No husband has a right to do that in public. This show of shame will affect him too. |
presentley:My brother, 3 gbosa and 5 green bottles for you. You hit the issue spot on. The Union is dragging the entire country into a private dispute between an employer and his employees. What's even worse is the fact that these unions are never seen to discipline their members. No quality control, no internal governance, nothing. Now they think they can hold us all to ransom. Inasmuch as I'm not happy with the FG, this issue has nothing to do with FG. Pengassan or whatever they go by should face the wrath of Nigerians. They deserve umbrage and not support. |
abduljabbar4:Are you a local government worker in Kaduna? Or maybe you have a lot of experience as a coma patient. I stated a point of fact based on my own personal inquiry. I am not a keyboard warrior, that's why I follow the facts, and I advise you to look beyond your mobile phone because some day, you may find yourself in a position of authority, like the head of local government workers. |
El-Rufai is a formidable foe. The guy has practically re-positioned Kaduna. I did some research at NBS and discovered that only El-Rufai and Ambode have been making regular monthly returns. He has laid the foundation for planning and development in the state. I'm wondering what the entourage is there to do. Because he went to sign his Witness Statement on Oath see crowd. I wonder if there's a crowd when he goes to the gubernatorial toilet, or even za ozza room. |

Your article is outdated. The law has moved beyond these conclusions in many states, and especially in the State of Lagos. For example, you cited Owodunni and made reference to Lagos State Rent Control Law. You need to update your article to reflect the changes in the law, especially with regards to the Lagos State Tenancy Law. Owodunni has also been overtaken by more recent cases beginning from Odutola v. Papersack, Iheanacho and so on. |
MRAKBEE:This bit is actually untrue. Oby and Odinkalu are outspoken antagonists (read opponents) of the NGO bill. Sun News does a great disservice with that paragraph. I hope its just a typo. |
Naija bloggers sha... The man was preaching his own sermon jeje. On a personal note, I'm surprised at some of the things I heard in that clip, but I'll look for the full sermon in order to properly understand the context. |
I think its high time Nigerians called these useless unions out, once and for all. Many people don't know it but these unions and members are so rich. They own properties and investments all across the country; there is nothing populist about their agenda- it is greed all the way. The worst part is that they now paint the FG in such a bad light. These Unions are not there to ensure that their members work when the refineries are up. All they are interested in is increasing salaries and blackmailing companies into hiring their members. In a free market system, unproductive staff are let go- they should deal with it. If they have any grievances, they should take it up in court. Why should Nigerians who are dealing with so much and earning much less show solidarity to these overpaid, underworked, jobless nonentities? Enough is enough. |
amicable09:Well said! That example is not meant to serve as a general rule. I agree with you that there are a million-and-one ways a facility can be structured, however, you will also agree with me that the banks always structure these transactions to retain the upper hand. This includes deducting fees and charges upfront from the principal before releasing it to the customer. A Moratorium is a period of delay. The reason behind the demand for collecting the interest first is because in the event of a disagreement, the interest is always the first casualty. You rarely find disputes over the principal. And as you are aware, in ALL LOAN TRANSACTIONS, the Banks always reserve the right to vary the interest rate without recourse to the customer. There is some sanity in the microfinance sector but with an upper limit of 3.5m, its a needle in a haystack. Ps: You are also correct on the issue of calculations. Banks use a zigzag form of compound interest to arrive at higher figures while most customers use simple interest for their calculations. That's why our bank loans are only suited for short-term, high-risk, high-return transactions. Anyone thinking long term should look for funding elsewhere. |
An interesting read, although it seems you may not have answered his question. There are many ways a bank can partner with such an endeavor.Unless the partnership your friend referred to meant strictly a loan (in that case, he should run far because commercial banks in Nigeria are a liability to the creative sector). In reality, banks actually make money under our current financial system. Its a little complicated but imagine that with only 1m in cash, a bank can give out 10 facilities of 1m each. The credit alert into the customer's account with the bank is merely an electronic iou. By the time charges and fees are deducted, the real figure has been discounted. Then the bank informs you that although your account has been credited, the money can only be withdrawn in tranches of 100k, and you are required to service the interest before paying back the principal... The bank has created debt-value from thin air. |
So much dishonesty in the sector. These guys need to be demystified. |
chloedogie:This is so well said. I don't understand what the rush is for. No matter how much fuel you buy, e go finish. If we all go to withdraw money from the bank, the banks will be in distress. Its the same thing with the fuel situation. We will only expose ourselves to more exploitation from these silly opportunists. God dey. |
If the dash and plastic emit benzene when heated, shouldn't the natural response be to cool it down asap? That's the exact opposite of your post. Meanwhile, the claim is entirely false. Check it out on snopes.com |
The benefit of making a world record is the recognition as the record holder. Young Najans have no regard for non-monetary benefits. |

What the heck is this? Useless info no one needs. Obviously self-written... explains the poor style and shallow content. Kudos. |
All this gyming and no sweat... makeup still intact. Odiegwu |
Pointnoire:How I wan take grade your grammar na? A whole Grammarian Emeritus like you. For example, Frz turned this thing to roforofo fight by mixing speculation with his argument. Yes, he has the right scriptural references but he doesn't build the argument on factual analysis. For example, if I were a journalist, I would go to CAC or FIRS and conduct a search on the corporate structure, annual returns and financial statements of these churches and their several business ventures. Then use that information, it's hard to argue with facts. That's just 1 example. Ps. I have done that for 2 major ministries in Nigeria. You're right, the responses have been sub-par but if he had his ducks in a row, it would have been difficult to refute with the nonsensical responses we have read, plus many more people would then see the truth. |
First and foremost, Trezzyhelm, please work on your grammar. This is really poor stuff. Some professionalism would help the reportage of the story too. For example, its impossible to authenticate or verify the facts from your account. Unless this is some cheap publicity for someone. Secondly, this is so ridiculous, its hilarious. There are so many things wrong with us in this country. Imo, this tithe debate isn't new, Freeze is just a proponent for one side of the argument, he's not a particularly articulate or mature proponent. I would encourage more Nigerian christians to do some more research into the origins of the prosperity gospel, word of faith teachings and New Apostolic Reformation movement. |
