This blogger and fake news... The video shows the women trying to separate one woman who was attacking another woman. These bloggers will go to any lengths for clicks. One day they will know what it feels like to be the target of false and derogatory news. Shior. |
damosky12:You should read my initial post for a more accurate context. This post is a reply to a comment on another post. Every time you go for a medical check up the Doctor asks a basic set of questions and does certain basic tests: body temperature, weight, blood pressure, heart rate and so on. It would be foolish to presume that having completed a physical examination once, you would not need to conduct another physical again- because the questions have been asked and answered. Religious practices develop over time and often become a body of laws outside the tenets of the bible. That's why it is important to conduct a self-analysis every now and then. This is both a collective and an individual responsibility. I was only giving an example with the questions. Moreover, these are issues that need to be examined on a periodic basis. That's why its a self-analysis. |
HardMirror:I totally agree with you that we need to ask hard questions about how we practice our Christianity. Some things are out of bounds, we shouldn't question the fundamentals. The start point should be the foundation of salvation in Jesus. We need to question why we do some things. Why do we sing certain songs? Why don't we subject all sermons to further scrutiny? Why are our pastors tin gods? Why are gospel ministers leaving the church in droves? How are we treating the poor, the widows, strangers and orphans? What is the source of the donations and huge contributions made to our churches? What is the full story behind the juicy testimonies we celebrate every Sunday? Why don't we organize healing crusades in hospital wards? I ask these questions because I want to be a better christian. |
OP While I agree with your conclusions, I strongly disagree with the means by which you arrive at that conclusion. The man picked an issue that had become very sensitive because of the economic situation. The tithe debate is not new, check this Section History for archives on heavy theological arguments for and against tithes. As it stands, we are at a place where we need to question all our assumptions so we can bury practices that have no biblical origin. The problem with the church goes beyond tithes, offering and first fruits. We need to move to discussing relationship with God. If these pastors had come out to admit the truth, Freeze would not have received more attention than he deserved. Let's face it, the leadership of our 'big' churches is flawed. This entire episode has revealed that many are childish and immature. No christian should allow a revolution to divide, rather than unify the church. That's where this sheeple thing goes off the rails. In that regard, I agree that people may be misled into division, strife and error. |
Aonkuuse:I smell an opportunist... |
Nigerians deserve better news reportage. Wth is 'central government'? Are they in China or India? We have a Federal Government. Their pr guys should know the difference. |
I'm a nationalist, but if your country is not a s***hole, why are people trooping from your countries to claim refugee status in other countries? Why is getting a US Visa a testimony in churches? Get over yourselves please. |
gidjah:Don't let these things get to you sir, you know 2 wrongs don't make a right. Freedom of speech has its upsides and downsides but we need it for society to function properly. Let everybody express his or herself. For those who are quick to throw insults, many of whom are young folk, when they see life, they will discover the foolishness in the ideas they glibly post online. Don't join issues at that level. |
I don't mean any disrespect, Op but this is a load of hogwash and bs. These tips fall into 2 categories: the obvious and the false. What's probably worse is that it was copied from a foreign website that peddles old wives tales. The False. For example, there is more static electricity in the human body than in 100 mobile phones. I may not be popular for saying this but it would also surprise many people to know that dropping a lighted matchstick into a drum of petrol would put out the matchstick. Petrol is most flammable when it is sprayed or atomized. A quick google search will confirm this. You may wish to bust more myths at www.snopes.com It is not an offence in Nigeria to leave your engine running. The Obvious For example, Kids dispensing petrol? Not in this country. In Nigeria, we don't have self-dispensing stations. Petrol is dispensed by attendants who are staff of the petrol station. In 2018, these stories should be well thought out and well researched. No more copy and paste. |
naptu2:You deserve a Nobel Prize for this reply. |
Next time, get the car's licence plate numbers. You can track him with the plate number and his account details. |
If this is your problem in 2018, then its gonna be a long year for you. |
Thick bloggers. The news is that its Brian McKnight's wedding. |
How is this even newsworthy? |
Point 4 contradicts Point 1. |
Abeg, whats the word on the scarcity? More stations are not selling. What's the situation in Abuja? |
Jman06:Written with the fire of youthful exuberance. From experience, its so funny how quickly couples resolve their issues often against 3rd parties, esp extended family. Provided that she's an adult and in good physical and mental health, family members should as much as possible stay out of domestic altercations. |
chloedogie:You hit the nail on the head |
One of the most closely guarded secrets in Nigeria is that NNPC is not a government parastatal or department. NNPC is a limited liability company with shareholders and a board of directors. The Federal Government has a large say in the management and affairs of NNPC only because it is the majority shareholder. Other OICs and entities are shareholders in NNPC. Therefore, in actual fact, NNPC is not government, its just a national carrier, like Nigerian Airways. The real regulators are the Ministry and DPR. Unfortunately, several decades of scheming, manipulation and undermining caused by over-regulation has placed NNPC and DPR at the top of the food chain. |
LaEvilIMiss:Lmao @blomblom |
Its a simple issue, its not by force to work for any company. If the terms are not agreeable, then refuse the offer. I think its a good idea that the company spelled out the conditions from the outset, rather than keeping you on the till and then ghosting after a month. It also gives you the leverage to keep your options open. Give it your all and seek to impress them, but at the same time, keep looking for opportunities and options. During the 1 month, you stand to gain experience and money so its a win-win for you (unless you think the job doesn't meet your bills or learning gaps, in which case, you should reject the offer). |
Still available? |
Everything you listed is an offence for students and non students alike. |
Lmao @home training... Nice vid. |
This is a very complex issue. In reality, violence on anyone is wrong- its not a gender thing. To every general rule, there is at least one exception, and this is no different. Let's not forget that the Female gender is no longer considered as the 'weaker' sex. Feminism and gender equality have told us that women and men are equal and should be treated equally- that has its consequences because in reality, women are more prone to resort to violence in the event of an altercation. All husbands and boyfriends have taken hits and slaps now and then, or experience some heavy dose of passive-aggressiveness. In such a situation, the truth is that its a matter of discretion and better judgment. If you choose not to hit back, you will need to protect yourself, and to teach the aggressor not to repeat the act... that's where the fine line is. Addendum: Women in societies with strong Patriarchy cultures often resort to passive-aggressive ways to express their anger. They use verbal abuse coupled with emotional denial and derogation to cut men to size. Most men don't know how to respond to non-overt aggression and then some guys respond by physical aggression and it becomes an issue. We men need emotional maturity. |
ObaKlaz:Smh. The problem with people like you is that when you don't understand something, you abandon the facts and create imaginary opponents to attack. Unfortunately, that won't help you in the long run. It is unfair and pedestrian for you to falsely characterize my comment. And for your information, Pastor-bashing is not dispassionate. For your benefit, I'll explain my comment further. Leke is a member of Winners Chapel and a long-time adherent of Bishop Oyedepo. He doesn't hide it, and he shouldn't, but his proximity to his subject will undoubtedly cloud his judgment when making a neutral argument. If he set out to make a case for the jets, it would be his opinion and he is entitled to his biases. If he sets out to present a neutral position, then he needs to do the work and display neutrality. In case you are not aware, these investigations are common in other climes. Do your research and you will find several examples of unbiased investigations and reportage on religion. |
This Leke Beecroft has shown his bias already. I doubt that he is capable of being truly dispassionate on this issue. |
Ignorance on full display. |
Some are there to buy, others are there to fight. Nigerians have misplaced emotions walahi |
This is mere eye service. That's the filling station opposite NNPC HQ. The goat just climbed downstairs... He should go round, this PR stunt smacks of insincerity. |
At first I thought someone was lying. I have since discovered that they are all lying. Bloody rogues. |
Mr. SGF, are you willing to drop your 2018 salary as a bet for this statement? |
