Recently, the gen started surging at half choke, it still surges at full choke. I did some DIY carb cleaning through the air filter manifold and the surging reduced at half choke.

The story is still developing, the acts were carried out across State lines, the guy was arrested by a Federal Task Force of the Nigerian Police. The prosecution may be Federal or State or a combination of both or even all.

In case you don't get my point, I'll break it down for you son:
The headline and story are misleading. The headline presumes that the Bill was just signed when in fact it had been signed earlier this year. The story also erroneously does not take all the angles into consideration especially considering the fact that other States have enacted the same law since 2016. This means that if Lagos wants a piece of the action under that law, they are only restricted to acts carried out after the law came into force.
That's not news, Vanguard is doing you a disservice by shoving that story in your face, you need to raise your standards a little.

You are correct that the Federal High Court is higher on the hierarchy. Unfortunately, that does not affect the criminal jurisdiction of the Magistrate Court. It is therefore possible to try the same person for different offences simultaneously at the Magistrate Court and the Federal High Court.
That seems to be exactly what happened in this case. In fact, you will remember that she was first arrested and charged to the magistrate court after which she was granted bail before she was again arrested and charged before the FHC on different charges.

Vanguard and nonsense news.. Even a secondary school student knows that a person cannot be tried under a law that did not exist when the infraction was committed. Nevertheless, if the stories we read are true then there is enough evidence to slam him with maximum sentences for homicide, kidnapping, attempted murder, aggravated assault with intent, extortion, armed robbery, conspiracy, false imprisonment and whole list of offences that will secure like 4 life sentences with hardest labor.
In essence, we should have update the penalties for kidnapping and new crimes.

She did not meet her bail conditions, that's what failing to "perfect her bail" means. So its either she jumped bail or there was an error on her part that led to the court having to revoke the bail. Its that simple. The fact that she is facing one set of charges at the Federal High Court does not automatically invalidate another set of charges against her at the Magistrate Court. It seems that she chose to ignore the Magistrate Court case after she had been released on bail.
Let's try to understand things first before jumping into the fray.

While we're on the topic of Nigerian tertiary education, our educational policies have not advanced much since the 50s and 60s. Whats even worse is the fact that our ivory towers have become the mental prisons with almost no innovation or creativity. As Pius Adesanmi said, our society is a reflection of our universities.
