Probably the person is an agent scouting for victims to fall prey. makano: What kinda advice is dis @bolded? In case u dont know, the purpose of this thread is for applicants to get relevant information on how they can do their visa application themselves and get their Visa and not to fall into the wrong hands of these people called agents.. We have seen several cases here of applicants falling victims of CIC ban just cos of the unprofessionalism of these desperate people called agents that are only after your money and nothing else.. If you know u dont have the adequate knowledge to dish out to peeps here, I will advise u keep mute, read up the thread from previous parts, gain relevant knowledge and come back here and dish out what u have gained via the information u would have gotten here..I cant still believe someone can still advise Peeps to use an agent.. Please lets do the right thing. Peace |

I sight you TheAfrikan: Goodmorning,
You are to apply for a student permit, if you're using the online route, you'll asked during the application if you would need a co-op permit, tick yes at that point.
Hope this helps. |

It will only show approved after your passport has been stamped and dispatched. Right now your application is under secondary review for authenticity of documents. If you didn't use any fake documents (bank statement in particular), then no need to panic. But if............. Leave7777: Thank you for your response. But my question is that my cic is still showing submitted, it's not showing approved yet. |

Try Conestoga college Mudicua: Hello everyone,
Please what are the chances of a masters degree in Canada, for someone who has a 3rd class in Engineering, and certified with COREN in Nigeria and is 34 years old? I have tried looking for schools but it is really hard. His GPA is 2.34. I am thinking of a PGD, but which schools will admit on that. he is really passionate about engineering though. Also trying to see how WES can evaluate his COREN. I would really appreciate your responses.
@Qudkom, @Frankrobben, @sleekysoft, @westlife08, @mcobex and others whom I did not mention please kindly help.
Thank you all. |

Interesting. CIC keeps dropping new epistles. Last week I found out of Egypt office. Today its Paris. These guys are really making a fortune from immigration and expanding the more. I hope they will be more calm in processing apps with the new office reducing the pressure on the existing offices. MsJu: I just got informed that my application is being processed in Paris. Abeg any success story from there? |

A visitors visa is equally a TRV (Temporary Resident Visa). Its a non-immigrant visa. Yes he is correct to refer to a visitors visa as a TRV. A study visa is also a TRV. mcobex: Your visiting visa is different from TRV and the TRV application will be treated differently. You having a visiting visa to Canada is not a guarantee of getting TRV so make sure you package your TRV app very well. As for the processing time, it will not change |

Can family members be used as ties? Is there anybody on this earth that doesn't have family members? I don't see family members as being a home tie if u ask me though. From the little I know about this CIC guys, there is no standard. What works for one person might not work for the other. Just do what is best and what suits your situation. My 2cents kcosam: That is because u have other credentials to use as home ties, but for someone who intend to use his siblings as social ties to Nigeria will have to show some proof, the moniker was asking if he can go ahead without the siblings birth certificate, and i responded if he/she does not intend using them as home ties, then there is no need for the birth certificate. You can use ur siblings as social ties to Nigeria if you so chose, then there will be a need for the birth certificate. |

Don't be so quick to judge. I filled all my siblings and folks and niece with out attaching any single document from them and still got approved. kcosam: Why would you fill them in the CIC form without presenting their birth certificate to substantiate your claim? What will you use to proof the relationship between you? Otherwise, I can fill Dangote or Tony Elumelu as my elder brother or uncle. |

guzenaira: Hello sir,
As sweet and shocking as this sound, am pleased to tell you that it’s not true.
The sponsor is telling a lie. Based on my personal findings and pls don’t quote me.
I maybe wrong but Embassy will never call sponsor. If it’s contacting banks, that’s possible but sponsor it’s not true.
In 2016, I applied using my uncle as sponsor, he was scared maybe I will give his bank statement to someone else to use because he’s a Lawyer. so he kept telling me that the bank called him. unfortunately it was a refusal, the following yr I used my dad as sponsor but I didn’t tell him. He came back again and said the bank called him. I just smiled.
So my brother, Embassy will not call after passport request. Even if your school revoke admission today, passport request can come the next day because decision has already been made. I totally disagree with you bro. Its is very possible for them to call sponsor after passport request. Infact I know two cases where sponsors were called and bank also contacted applicants about their banking documents. All this is happening after passport has been requested and submitted. I spoke to the VFS manager in Abuja and he said that over 60% of applicants are using fake documents, so CIC is verifying every document submitted especially banking statements. And when the sponsor doesn't bear the same surname as applicant or when there is no proper documentation showing a relationship between applicant and sponsor. E.g Mr Olalekan sponsoring Mr Chukwudi. At times bankers are paid to print bank statements of someone with millions without the persons notice, that's why they call. He also pointed out that CIC check social media accounts (LinkedIn and Facebook). I have a case of an applicant where his documentation showed he was part of directors of a company while his LinkedIn showed he was just a staff. CIC have smartened up. They are getting every single thing now. Even after passport request, they still review. At point of entry they can still cancel your visa and send you back. Please if you plan to change DLI, do that after you have gotten to Canada or notify them 30days before your intended date of travel via your mycic account. I am speaking from experiences I have had. People involved. Peace |

Ancient of days. I salute. Special mention to you sir. Thanks for the SOP reviews and criticism. My application has been approved and passport stamped and returned. Thanks once again. thesoj: An eight-page SOP is just too long and the VO probably didn't read it, or got confused reading it. In my view, the only way a VO would read such a lengthy SOP is (a) you have a concise TL DR on the first page OR (b) your writing is like Chimamanda prose.
An eight-page SOP is a sign to the VO that you have not yet figured out your reasons for wanting to study in Canada. |

abike12: the question is not whether to fill the denial out on the form or not. the question is whether to write a letter of explanation to give further details Personally I dont see the need of writing a letter explaining the denial of another country to Canada. The letter you should write should be in support of the Canadian application. Except if it was a ban, then you would need to explicitly explain why the ban was issued. |

You have said it all. You won't blame people that get their TRV and leave the thread. When you come back, you get challenged. Let people figure out stuff by themselves. Some of us never used an agent, we learnt from reading nairaland and packaged our application and got the visa. If someone doesn't want to take your advice, font force it on the person. You can take a horse to the river but you can't force it to drink water. My 2cents Bracha: You kwanu learn from it. Stop giving help here always, maybe when you distance yourself for a while - like what qud.kom, Just.mellow, Mak.ano, and Frank do - they'll appreciate it when you come back. Also, stop asking them to order GCMS note, let them figure these things out themselves by reading up on previous threads.
A prophet isn't always appreciated in his hometown.
This your passport should come back fast so you can leave and get busy with moving your life forward, instead of staying here collecting insult from people you're trying to help on nairaland. |

Lol. I can laugh and laugh. Truth is, ordering gcms helps a lot. I ordered mine 4times and each time I noticed the VO's concerns and moved fast to address it and provide the necessary documentation to back up. I waited 49weeks. Patience is a virtue we must all cultivate in dealing with CIC. And I would advice. Order your gcms, it will help you a lot to know what is holding your application. Lemme use my case as an example, 1st gcms pointed I didn't submit leave letter from employer, and I did immediately I submitted because I applied for it but it was delaying so I went ahead to submit my application without it, but when my first gcms pointed it, I sent it to them. 2nd gcms pointed information sharing with New Zealand as error, I went ahead to write them and tell them I have never applied to New Zealand. Third and fourth also pointed out issues that I addressed and eventually led to an approval. Peace OptimusPrime21: Well.. I could see when you dropped this, u weren't in a happy mood so obviously you felt my response was more like pissing you off.. to order gcms notes like (I always do) is not by force, we all are here to learn and drop solutions to questions and situations everybody is facing his/respective applications. Sorry if u feel offended and seeing u as a newB.. no vex
I was literally laughing at the bolded. bros, I waited 8months b4 I got a medical request, Mr Ralf waited 11months b4 he got a passport request(cos he did upfront medicals) so pls, som1 just got denied after waiting 10months (do u know how annoying and heartbreaking that is) u are 5weeks in this and your blood is hot. That was why I said read thread 15 to see people's experiences if u don't wanna no problem, I wasn't and I can never force you.. how do u know am a man, I might be a woman |
