Is not like she got a choice anymore. Her own life is ruined and finding someone who will accept you to marry you with an STD is very rare unless the person has it with you, which is her case right now
This will be true about this situation if the STD is an incurable one, but it is curable and she is on treatment right now. so am still surprised why she is still considering this guy.

All these “hurt people” roaming around. He didn’t want to be in pain alone, so he had to drag the girl with him. He doesn’t have a problem marrying her, cause he feels like they are both in this mess together. Very cruel
as in eh, the fact that she is even considering it and calling her good friend that is trying to make her see reasons as jealous is very surprising to me.

She's confused about his proposal??

Lmao. She should accept asap.

He gave her STD, surely he must have a lot in store to share with her. Such an unselfish man.

What does the guy give her apart from STD?
money? or what?

she should think twice before she says "I do"
I think its love that is making her to think like that, she is thinking maybe he will change.

It puzzles me to no end as to why most recent threads in romanceland are those that will definitely end in tears.

Well, I guess they're called sob stories for a reason...
Bro these are the reality of alots Nigerians, so it's only proper that it will be what is normally posted here, besides love and the desire to get married can make people to make some irrational decisions they may likely regret later in life.
Romance / My Boyfriend Gave Me An STD, Now He Is Proposing To Marry Me by Ralphjoe(m): 12:07pm On May 26, 2020
please guys, a friend of mine posted this about her friend, she needs advice urgently.....I have a friend name Lydia.
We went to the same University , we are very close. She was dating a guy who was based in lag , she never cheated on him cos we always together.
If he calls her and she did not pick immediately, it's trouble , even tho she explained to him that she is in the bathroom or washing or cooking.
He will call her a prostitute , saying she is with another man.
Fast forward to last year she call me that she is seriously ill , I asked her what happened , she told me her guy gave her STD , the same guy .

She said she started having itches on her private part , that her guy told her it was toilet infection, which she believed, it got so serious that there are wounds there , she became so ill , when she told her guy she wants to go to the hospital he will discourage her and bring some drugs for her .

Her condition got worst, the drugs he brought were not helping cos the STD has gotten worst , her elder bro got tired of the whole thing and took her to the hospital.
It was at the hospital she was told that she has STD and it has gotten worst.
She called her guy , cos he is the only one she has been sleeping with.

That was when he confessed that he has been cheating on her and he too is infected , he was the one that gave her the disease, he don't want her to know cos he don't want to loose her , that was why he was preventing her to go to the hospital.

Now the issue is that the guy has come to propose after she broke up with him.

She is confused if she should go ahead with the proposal or walk away

I then ask her "What if it's HIV your guy has given to you....think about it , would you be talking about accepting his proposal?

She thinks I am being jealous about the whole thing , while I am only trying to look out for a friend.
cc: lalasticlala fp pls so we can get more advice on this matter.

In a total shutdown, everything can be closed.

I am even surprised that they allow people to drive around freely while locking up restaurants.
well it only only means it's not a total shutdown then, they should allow all essential commodities like food, medical stuffs to open, but social distancing should be enforced thoroughly, that is how it should be.

It is all for good, but they should allow big restaurants like Jevnik to open so we can at least eat good meal.
yeah, all restaurants are supposed to be opened, just that social distancing will be rigorously enforced, and there will be no eat in, only take aways, food is too important to be shutdown.
Health / Re: How Rivers State Lockdown Trapped Me In Port Harcourt (Pictures) by Ralphjoe(m): 3:17pm On Mar 31, 2020
If actually this is true, then wike is going about this shutdown the wrong way, the style will kill people in droves if allowed to last for 3 to 4 days. I have not seen a shutdown where essential stuff like food are shutdown too. That is massive death sentence on portharcourt as a whole. cry cry cry :'

Health / Re: Trying To Get Tested For Coronavirus By NCDC In Abuja: An Experience by Ralphjoe(m): 3:52am On Mar 30, 2020
One thing you guys should know right now is that they are only testing people that mostly have contact with person that recently came back from one of the highly infected countries, and are showing serious symptoms of the covid19. If you really want to be tested, you can allude to have made a contact with a person of such, and you will be told to send your address to them, it is as simple as that.

I think we need to educate ourselves more about this virus. I learnt our body is designed in a way to produce anti-bodies to fight viruses in our body. This explains why after a while, someone who has contacted the virus would recover.

PS: I am not in the medical field and could be wrong on some terms.
you are very right bro. It's not a death sentence for healthy people that has strong immune system, only a little fraction of old people with underlining disease that actually does from it.

Help me tell him o, so many people are so ignorant of this disease. It's not a death sentence, over 90% of infected people do recover even without treatment.

Health / Corona Virus: Why does Nigeria Not Quarantine Foreigners From Infected Countries by Ralphjoe(m): 12:13pm On Feb 29, 2020
I am still at a loss on the press conference that the minister of health gave yesterday, giving the reason why the Italian man was not detected at the airport, that the virus is in its incubation period, and as such, it can't be detected by their screening machine since the symptoms has not started showing, so my question now is,why still allow people from such countries or better still, if they are allowed, why not quarantine them since it's hard to detect this virus most times, I just read a news where Mongolian president and his officials where quarantined because they visited China even without showing any symptoms of the virus, why can't Nigeria do same thing to travellers from China, Japan, Italy and some highly affected countries?
Health / Re: Coronavirus: Why Infected Italian Was Not Detected At Lagos Airport – Minister by Ralphjoe(m): 10:08pm On Feb 28, 2020
Mr minister, this is the reason a complete ban on infected countries should have suffixed, but no, you guys were putting economical consideration before health, so we should not believe the saying that health is wealth, it is someone that is alive that can make and spend money, you guys got it so wrong on so many levels, you are not even ashamed to be saying this, you know it has an incubation period whereby the virus can't be detected, why not quarantine foreigners that comes from infected countries, if you don't want to ban them totally, since it has that window of error, but no, the only way you feel you can prevent it is by screening even when you know about this incubation period. Shame on Nigerian government, they have failed us all.
