Bro he's not far from the truth. I had the same problem with ikedc. I applied for meter, cleared all the outstanding that was less than 100k. It took them 2 months plus to bring the meter & my bill had accumulated to over a 100k under the stipulated period of waiting. I'm paying the 60-40 arrangement now.

I tried using my prepaid meter No, but the app didn't recognize it. It only recognized the old account number prior to when I got my meter, & there's no info on that anymore since I no longer recharge on it

I would recommend 48v over 96v for these reasons.

1) Available technology and support systems - Most high end inverters and charge controllers are configured for 48v - the ones that can do the range from 12v to 48v are usually at their peak performance at 48v.

2) Ease of management - If you had 8 12v batteries to play with and had them setup as 96v, the failure of just one battery out of 8 would bring your system performance down very noticeably - if however you had gone with a 48v system with two 48v strings in parallel, you could afford to have one and even up to four batteries fail and still have a useable system and buy enough time to attempt battery recovery or save up for their replacement.

3) Safety - As you play with DC voltages above 60v, it is possible to sustain a fatal or at the very least painful electrical shock - so you need to know what you are doing at voltages like 96v and above.

Notwithstanding there are certainly benefits e.g savings in inverter copper/transformer windings, ability to use thinner and therefore cheaper DC cables [(given thesame power output, higher voltage means lesser current/amps)] in a 96v system vs 48v amongst other benefits but by and large I would advice you go for 48v except your circumstances clearly indicate otherwise.

I have an uncle who uses 4 12v 200Ah Trojan batteries, he recently complained the inverter goes off when the sun sets for the day, so I went to his house and found out the batteries where no longer storing charge cause the moment it's loaded, the voltage drops instantly. I checked the config of the inverter, it was set on flooded, but it has no equalization feature. Do you think the batteries can be salvaged if subject to equalization, & what external device can I use to accomplish this. Thank you!

I stopped recharging using my bank app for over a year cause of the SMS charges I get. I recharge using other platforms that offer data & airtime recharge. I just top up my wallet using either bank transfer or payment gateway & I can get airtime at a lower rate unlike the bank app that sells at the exact value.

I was told to pay 15k to change the DoB when I haven't even done the registration, thereafter I would go to their head office to follow up on the process with all the crowd. I've seen stories of people who have registered for NIN paying to correct their data, but I've not even started the process yet, so it would probably be more difficult to get someone to hear me out in their office.

Hi. I have a slightly different issue. When I did my bvn registration I made a mistake with my DoB, but I corrected it much later. When I went to do nin registration, it pulled up the old DoB I had corrected on my BVN. This is a federal project, meaning it has the backing of the federal government. Something that needs to be pointed out is that Buhari has not prioritised the building of gas fired power plants in the past 5 years that he has been president.

Gas power plants are what we have that can cheaply provide enough power at affordable costs to meet the energy needs of the country.

Can the people in this community now set up welding workshops or hair dressing saloons based on the electricity they now have? What is the essence of a project that can not spur much needed development and economic activities?

These offgrid solar minigrids are waste of resources.

The battery systems in the picture are based on lead acid batteries, in less than 3 years time those batteries will need to be replaced and by then no one will be interested in providing the funds for the replacement and the people will be back in darkness.

Also the number of solar panels in the picture is inadequate to charge a 100kw system. So the system can not provide 100kw continuously.

The lead acid batteries will be damaged if that system is run beyond 25kw continuously from what I can see in the picture. I will give that system 1 year to pack up due to insufficient float charging of the batteries. The solar panels numbers need to be increased.

The question is why is Buhari not keen on building big gas powered electricity generation plants.

Obasanjo started many power plants under the NIPP scheme, Jonathan completed many of them, the northerners were complaining that the NIPP power plants were in the south where the gas supply is and the projects should be stopped. Buhari has simply stopped further development of the NIPP projects just like the northerners were asking for, why are we cutting out noses to spite our faces?

The project will be sustainable if they're productive energy users who will use power during the day, while the battery bank takes care of load usage at night. The solar pv capacity is 100kw, so it can handle load of up to 30kw during the day conveniently. In these communities, they're encouraged to use more power during the day. There are lots of similar projects that are serving the communities for the past 3 years and counting

Moreover, power should not only be regionalized but The Monopoly of region distributors have to be broken so that customers can switch in between different distributors. If BEDC is not functioning,I can switch to IKEDC. Regional competition will enhance good and customer friendly services.

Sadly this can't happen. Electricity isn't distributed wirelessly like your telco network.

Mine is LG 32" LJ500D Model. I just plugged in my GOTV antenna directly to it and scanned only to receive 250 channels on DTV which included both GOTV and Startimes channels, two radio stations also came up and two local tv stations.

But I could only view the free ones: Discovery Family, NTAi, and the adverts.
