A 22-year-old 100Level student of Microbiology at the University of Benin, Edo State, Vera Uwaila Omozuwa, has been brutally raped and killed inside a church in the city while reading.

The tragic incident, which happened three days ago, according to friends, saw her attackers smashing her head with a fire extinguisher and leaving her unconscious around the Ikpoba Hill area of Benin City, the state capital.

Despite being rushed to the intensive care unit of a hospital, Omozuwa couldn't make it as she succumbed to the injuries sustained during the savage attack.

Friends and all those, who knew her closely during her lifetime, have been paying tribute and calling for the perpetrators of the crime to be brought to justice.

"It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing away of our loved one, friend, sister and course mate.

"She was raped on her way home from church and had her head smashed with a fire extinguisher in broad day light around Ikpoba Hill, Benin City. This happened yesterday, May 30, 2020," one friend wrote.

A Twitter user with the handle @Weezard2 wrote, "Now this is a girl that just got admission, hasn't even done matriculation, and she was murdered in church.

"She's a newly admitted student of University of Benin, Microbiology Department. #justiceForUwa."

Also commenting on the incident, another Twitter user with the handle @MohammedBlack_ said, "Saddening how our community gradually becomes unsafe for us. People getting killed on a daily frivolously.

"May Uwa's soul rest in peace and I hope her family ever finds the strength to bear this loss. This is for all of us. Hopefully, the perpetrators are caught! #justiceForUwa."

In his own tribute on Twitter, OptomDr0812 said, "I had high hopes that you will make it, I told your mum to be strong, you are just too soft to go through such excruciating pain.

"You fought with those animals, you fought to stay alive in ICU, please don't rest until those demons are caught. #justiceforuwa."

Spokesperson for the police in Edo State, Chidi Nwabuzor, when contacted by SaharaReporters on Sunday morning, did not respond to telephone calls to his mobile number while a text message sent on the matter wa yet to be replied as of the time of this report.

Police in Jigawa State have arrested eleven person for allegedly rapping a 12-year-old girl.

Spokesman of the State police command, SP Abdu Jinjiri confirmed the arrested to DAILY POST in Dutse.

He said the incident occurred at Limawa quarters in Dutse local government area of Jigawa State.

Jinjiri explained that the arrest was made after the police in the area received a complaint that one Alh Zuwai, 57 years old of Ma’ai village in Dutse local government was seen at Limawa market trying to lure a 12 year old girl of the same address to a hidden place, to have intercourse with her.

He said police arrested the suspect and on the course of interrogation, the girl mentioned eleven persons who have been raping her severally in different occasions.

Police spokesman said all the eleven suspects were also arrested and have confessed to the offence.

The case is still under investigation at the State CID in Dutse.

A youth Nigerian who is fast becoming a strong hunter of reptiles has captured a monitor lizard devouring the eggs of his birds on his small farm.

"Just a few days ago, I reported on how one hungry Monitor Lizard devoured 3 eggs and got trapped when he attempted to escape.


Well his younger family member, who is obviously a dumbhead came to check on the slain Lizard whereabouts a day before yesterday, only to be tempted by fresh chicken eggs, and it got trapped in a smaller trap. 


Now, this latest catch was more chilling (and cringing at the same time) because I witness how it was stabbed to eternity. Getting stabbed multiple times is not a good way to die - I could tell from the writhing of the animal as life escaped it.


What baffled me once again is how long these Monitor Lizards' tails are, bigger than some snakes. At the rate at which Lizards are getting caught in my backyard, I think my Papa and his friend must think the gods are mad. It's safe to call this season "Season Of The Monitor Lizard". 


I hope the government passes a law that mandates taxes to paid on animals hunted in the wild. If there was that law right now, my Papa and his friend would be a defaulter. And I would testify in support of the Lizards to have them locked for life. They would soon finish all the goddamn Monitor Lizards and all other reptiles visiting my backyard. 


I am certain the animals are now hotheaded in the creaks, meeting on how to curb this incessant hunting of their folks. I am on their side, after watching the death of one of them in a cold-blooded stabbing routine. 


Lalasticlala, you have to join and let's advocate for non-killings of reptiles. This animals will soon be endangered, and the ecosystem will lack!


I couldn't wait to see how this lizard was skinned and mashed up with spices in the pot of pepper soup - I'm sure it went down with couple 33s and Trophy drinks.

Two lovers stole 64 chickens and were cooking some already when they got arrested.

Ever since the lockdown started, we've kept hearing various surprising news. Another shocking news just went viral as two lovers stole 64 chickens and were already cooking some before they finally got arrested.

The two lovers, Abdullahi Dani (35 years old) and Sarah Paul (20 years old) have been arrested for stealing 64 chickens.


The victim reported that convicts broke into his house and stole 64 layers worth 781,000 Naira.

The police arrested Sani and Paul under the charges of breaking in and theft, mischief and criminal conspiracy.

Mr Abdullahi Sani was however sentenced to 38 months in a correctional facility while Miss Sarah Paul bagged 13 months for been an accomplice.

The prosecution counsel stated that the police were able to recover cell phones, television set, amplifier and so on that were suspected to have also been stolen by the lovers.

When the charges were read to the lovers, they both pleaded guilty and begged the court for leniency.

When Mikel Obi and Odion Ighalo announced their retirement from international football right after the AFCON, it felt like a new dawn in the Super Eagles. His presence hampered the progress of players like Samuel Kalu and Henry Onyekuru who were by far in a better form than Ahmed Musa.

With every passing Super Eagles game, it is becoming more obvious that Ahmed Musa is more of a liability than an asset to the team, basically hindering the growth of more youthful and hungry players in the team. Post AFCON, the Super Eagles are yet to lose a game, against quality opponents like Ukraine and Brazil. Not only has the result being good, but the quality of the performance has also been better without Ahmed Musa in attack in those games. Gernot Rohr has also infused talents like Joe Aribo, Olayinka and Emmanuel Dennis into the team, creating a big fight for places in the Super Eagles attack.

Ahmed Musa maybe 27, but his decision to move Saudi Arabia meant he was planning for an early retirement because hungry players don't move to such leagues and the national team should be filled with hungry and in form players.

His late sub in Super Eagles win against Benin Republic on Wednesday suggest that the national team is moving past Ahmed Musa and before familiarity breeds contempt, he should call time in the national team and enjoy what football fans call ”pension money” in Saudi Arabia.

“Jock itch gets its name because it’s common in athletes. It’s also common in people who sweat a lot or who are overweight.

“The pubic region is an area in the human body that is always dark, warm and moist due to sweating, when you repeat same boxer for days, you are making fungi to grow and multiply in the pubic area.
“This could lead to Jock itch and Groin infection caused by a fungus known as ‘Tinea Cruris’ and usually develops in the skin around the groin, inner thighs and buttocks.
“This is most common in men and adolescent boys.
“The common symptoms include itching and burning, red, scaly, circular rashes and peeling of the skin. When this happens, see a doctor for proper treatment,

Artistes who made money for the brand: Korede Bello is one of the most successful artistes that the label has ever had and so it’s in good light to still pose him as a mavin artist for the benefit of the brands.

With a total population of 1.2 million, The small country of Mauritius has now fully recovered from the coronavirus. The country had its first case of the virus on 18 March 2020 and in a course of just 2 months, the virus had left its soil.

The confirmed cases rose to 332 during the 2 months the country had the virus. It unfortunately had 10 of its people lose their lives to the virus but however, as from yesterday 11 May 2020, The country had 100% of the active cases recover and not a single person is reported to be infected anymore.



The statistics above show that a total of 322 people have recovered from the virus. No country in the world was been able to recover from the virus after passing the 100 mark of confirmed infections, this is a huge milestone for the continenent

As seen in the graph above, the country's. Active cases slowly went up in April and finally reached its peak in mid April. After that it started descending down as each person recovered until it went back to zero.
