I am from Bayelsa and live in Abuja. When avengers complain of development I begin to wonder what Jonathan did for the region during his stint in Aso Rock. They should just shut up, when Jonathan was there, what happened. In 6 yrs if Jona was serious more refineries, gas plants and infrastructure including roads should have been built. As I speak d road from Bayelsa to PH and Warri to PH have not been completed. Even the refineries in PH and Warri had no meaningful turn around maintenance.
I can't remember asking you to disclose your state before commenting on my thread huh

The Niger Delta Avengers rebuffed claims by the DSS that they recently caught some members of the group.
In a recent press release via the group's spokesperson, Gen Mudoch, it described the antics of the DSS as ludicrous as those arrested are not a part of the Avengers but "Dss Sleeper Agents", who were held and labelled as one of them; owing to their failure of providing them (DSS) information that will help in the capture of the real Avengers. The statement read thus:

"Reports from National dailies that two suspects Mr Christian Oluba alias Sensor, and Selky Kile Torughedi arrested by DSS are alleged members of Niger Delta Avengers is laughable, the fact is they are sleeper agents of the DSS sent after the Niger Delta Avengers. The boys has the right to demand for their money from DSS, why not pay them instead of arresting and labeling them as Niger Delta Avengers members. If DSS are denying this, let them allow the suspects to speak to the press.

We (Niger Dleta Avengers) don’t have any connection with these boys. We dare the DSS to allow the boys to tell the world their side of the story.DSS and Nigeria Army can’t win the Niger Delta war by feeding their President with false information about situation of things in the Region. It’s all-good because as it seems the DSS is now having internal crisis with most of their sleeper agents and it a sign that God is on our side.

There are problem in the Niger Delta region such as underdevelopment, environmental degradation, lack of infrastructure and the issue of self-determination. These are the areas Mr. President should focus on, not arresting their allies and linking them to Niger Delta Avengers. This is to DSS Director Lawal Daura, this the holy month of Ramadan and as a Muslim you hold it to Allah and the Nigeria people to say the truth. Why not come out with the truth. To the Nigeria press, there is always two sides to a story.

Why not try to get the other side of the story by interviewing the boysThe Nigeria army will never get us (Niger Delta Avengers), let them go and settle with their sleeper agents and stop deceiving the general public and their President."

The Presidency has apologized to the Senate over the comment of the Representative of the Attorney General of the Federation during a meeting with the committee on Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters. Ita Enang, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Legislative Matters (Senate) made the apology while fielding questions from journalists in Abuja on Friday.
Enang said that it was wrong for the Attorney General’s representative Mr Okoi Obono-Obla to have said that the Senate had no right to have invited the attorney General, Abubakar Malami.

“I heard the statements after and I want to apologise to the Distinguished Senate, to the Committee on Judiciary and to the distinguished senators. “That statement ought not to have been made: the Attorney General is Attorney General of the Federation, appointed by Mr President, cleared by the Senate and responsible for the federation. “We are going into this matter, we will handle this matter but I first have to tender my unreserved apology for the impression it may have created to the distinguished Senate, senators and the committee members,” he said.

The Senate had invited the Attorney General to appear before its committee on Judiciary over a forgery case instituted against its members. However, the AGF who was absent was represented by Mr Okoi Obono-Obla, Special Assistant to President Buhari on Prosecution. Although the committee refused to hear the representative, Mr Obla in an interview outside the hearing room. Obla in his interview said that “the senate had no right to invite the AGF” and that “the AGF was not answerable to the Senate”.

However, the SSA to President Buhari reiterated the apology to the Senate adding that the Attorney General was unavoidably absent. “The Attorney General spoke with me yesterday on the matter in the morning that he is on official assignment on behalf of the country. “When he is in, we will make arrangement for him to respond appropriately: we want to apologise pending when he is back to respond appropriately,” he said.

President Muhammadu Buhari has condemned the recent terror attacks on Ataturk Airport in Turkey that killed over 40 people.

In a letter to his Turkish counterpart a day after the incident, Buhari commiserated with President Recep Tayyep Erdogan and the entire people of Turkey on the horrific attack.

Buhari, in a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, said: “On behalf of the government and people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I wish to convey my heartfelt sympathy to you and the people of Turkey on the shocking terrorist attack at the Ataturk Airport.

“Please extend my most sincere condolences to the families, relatives and friends of the victims of this tragic incident.

“We condemn in the strongest terms these criminal, cowardly attacks, wherever they might occur as an attack on all decent, democratic and peaceful people. Every terrorist attack only strengthens Nigeria’s resolve to stand shoulder to shoulder with Turkey and other countries in the frontline of the war on terror.

“Our government calls on all peace-loving nations to commit themselves wholeheartedly to multi-lateral cooperation and collaborative actions aimed at eradicating the scourge of international terrorism.”

PoliticsYou’re Incompetent, Northern Leaders Blast Buhari, Call For His Resignation by rapistomenka(op): 1:40pm On Jun 29, 2016
In a shocking twist of events, Northern Leaders have called for the immediate resignation of President Muhammadu Buhari, for making a deliberate attempt to dialogue with the Niger Delta Avengers, while clamping down on Boko Haram terrorists.

Controversial Northern figure, Dr. Junaid Mohammed, who spoke on behalf of the Northerners on Sunday, June 26, likened the militant group, Niger Delta Avenger, to a terrorist group, and called on Buhari either resign or deal with the militants, as it has been dealing with the Boko Haram terrorists.

“No forward-looking nation negotiates with terrorists. And I should say that if he does not have the political will to deal with the militants, he should step aside. Governance does not have room for destroyers,” he said.

This is coming, barely 24-hours when the president offered to meet personally with the Niger Delta Avengers, through the Governors, Elders and other stakeholders in the Niger Delta Region, as part of his efforts towards seeking peace in the region, following renewed sabotage of oil and gas installations by the militants

Speaking further, Mohammed, called on Buhari, to deploy its full military might, to deal with the Niger Delta militants.

According to him, it will be an error for the Buhari led government to try to appease or appeal to the Niger Delta militants, to stop destroying oil installations, when a similar group in the North-East, are being confronted and dealt with as a terrorist group.

Mohammed, a former adviser to President Shehu Shagari, cautioned that any move by this administration to dialogue with the militants, and not out rightly crushing them to serve as a deterrent to would be terrorists, could result to another civil war in Nigeria.

“Why is Buhari tackling Boko Haram with the military might, and going behind to negotiate with Niger Delta militants?

“If Buhari is not careful with the NDA he will plunge the country into another civil war, because he does not have the mandate of the law to negotiate with terrorists”.

PoliticsRe: Court Summons EFCC For Freezing Fayose's Account by rapistomenka: 3:01pm On Jun 28, 2016
Nemesis will soon catch up with Buhari and his cohorts
PoliticsFayose's Account Freezing: Court Summons EFCC by rapistomenka(op): 2:27pm On Jun 28, 2016
Efforts made by Governor Ayodele Fayose to reverse the restriction order placed on his accounts frozen by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) in Zenith Bank Plc was temporarily halted on Tuesday as the Federal High Court sitting in Ado Ekiti, deferredruling on the mandatory order being sought to reverse the directive.
The EFCC had last week Tuesday allegedly frozen Fayose’s account numbers 1003126654 and 9013074033 in Zenith bank for alleged money laundering running into N1.2 billion being money allegedly taken from the $2.1 billion arms fund in the office of the former National Security Adviser, Col. Bello Dasuki.

Fayose through his lawyer , Mr Mike Ozekhome(SAN), had through an ex parte order deposed to on the 24th of June, 2016 by Bimpe Olatemiju sought a mandatory order unfreezing the accounts belonging and operated by him pending the determination of his interlocutory application.

Joined in the suit are the EFCC (1st defendant) and Zenith bank (2nd defendant). The order was supported by 18-paragraph affidavit , a lone Exhibit, which was a letter issued to Governor Fayose by Zenith bank confirming that the EFCC actually placed a restriction order on the accounts and a written address.

He also sought the leave of the court for the service of the originating summons on the defendants in their various addresses outside the jurisdiction of the court as contained on the order papers, supported by 17-paragraph affidavit.

Ozekhome said the order was brought pursuant to order 26 rule 8(1) of the Federal High Court Civil Procedure Rule 2009 and Section 44(1) of the 1999 constitution which gives the court the discretionary powers to adjudicate on such matter.

Citing the case of Abdulaziz Nyako Vs EFCC to buttress his position that the anti-graft agency has no power to freeze Fayose’s account without valid court order, Ozekhome added that the action was a flagrant negation of the Section 308 of the constitution, which conferred absolute immunity on the government against civil and criminal procedure.

He said it was appalling that the EFCC could play ostrich to these valid constitutional requirements and took cognizance of the African Charters on Human and People’s Rights before taking the punitive stand against Fayose, adding that these infractions had rendered the action unconstitutional, wrongful ,null and void.

But delivering his ruling, Justice Taiwo Taiwo, averred that he quite understood that the applicant(Fayose) enjoys immunity and that the court can adjudicate on this matter as canvassed by the counsel to the plaintiff, but he pointed out that the relief he basically sought was a mandatory order of the court .

“I quite agree that the applicant has immunity pursuant to provisions of the constitution, but it is glaring that the application he is requesting for is a mandatory order to undo what had already been done and the court can’t abdicate its duty under this circumstance.

“I am of the opinion that this mandatory order is better granted with the interlocutory order being sought through an application pending before the court , because the applicant has filed all papers to this effect.

“I hereby order the 1st and 2nd respondents to appear before this honourable court on July 4, 2016 and show cause why the order should be refused.

“This is not a refusal of the order, I have not refused it, but I only put it in abeyance which I said without prejudice to what will be the position of the respondents .

“But a leave is granted for the service of the defendants with the originating summons in their respective addresses as contained on the order papers”, the Judge ruled.

While giving his submission, Ozekhome said Fayose was being persecuted for being a lone voice against perceived arbitrariness of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government.

The senior lawyer added that many of Fayose’s dependants, including his 76-year old mother have been made to pass through untold hardship by freezing the accounts of their benefactor and breadwinner .

He said plurality of opinions remains the bedrock of democracy and this dissenting opinions from Governor Fayose shouldn’t have been seen as coming from an enemy of this present government.

Ozekhome told the court to take cognizance of awarding cost against EFCC if the order is eventually granted.
