I'm sick and tired of Nigerian songs and artistes; especially, those who do this dancehall stuff! They always feed us with talks about women's boobs and butts! They don't have any sensible or worthy thing to say. Many of them are just hopeless opportunists capitalizing on the ignorance and shallow minds of many Nigerians! |

I have said it countless times that Nigerian songs these days, have little to offer to the next generation; the present Nigerian music industry has drastically reduced contemporary Nigerian music to 'beer parlor music' where no inspiration can be gotten, apart from useless lines that centre on the butts of women! This shows clearly that most of these 'music folks' lack creativity since they can't draw out inspiration from their immediate environments. Abeg, Nigerian artistes, we have been seeing female butts of all sizes and shapes even before the days of Aristotle and Confucious! Stop all these every-day boring lines of butts, butts and butts!!! Very soon, we might start having students writing BIG CASSAVA AND UKWU as anwers in their WAEC answer sheets! In as much as this portrays the present situation Nigerian contemporary music has found itself, there are still some contemporary artistes who have maintained their musical sanity with inspirational lines. Some might not be popular but listening to their songs awakens your spirit. Below are the artistes: 1) 2FACE IDIBIA: The Benue-born artiste has proven to be talented. His lyrics are always filled with inspiration. 'African Queen' by Innocent Idibia remains one of the best contemporary love song Africans/Nigerians have heard. Even when he sings about love or women, he does not make it childish or vulgar. There are better ways to talk about women and their beauty or love without bothering us with silly analysis of the female anatomy. 2) GINO: I know not many will know this Edo-born rapper; his name might not ring a bell in Nigeria but his lyrics are real and inspirational. His hit-track 'No Be God' feat. C-mion, talks about our immediate environments, the people we relate with and how we can be inspired to succeed in our various paths in life. This young man strongly believes that 'there is no food for a lazy man' and this has really kept some ambitious folks going. 3) BLACK MAGIC: I almost gave up the thought that Nigerian artistes springing up like mushrooms from all angles could make a song without discussing boobs and butts till I heard 'Pass You By' where he featured Oritsefemi. The Delta State-born rapper said some real stuffs on that track which only those who appreciate good music can understand. Comparing the sense in such lyrics with those of an artiste like Lil Kesh is like compaing Manchester United with Warri Wolves!!! At least, for once, we were spared the usual 'butts and boobs stories'. 4) MODE 9: Moddie has been killing it with his inspirational lines for a long time. He might not be making waves like some commercial folks presently but his songs are what you can relate with as one who appreciates rap music. I can't forget that track, 'Elbow Room'. 5) MI: The plateau born rapper really changed the perception of rap music in Nigeria. He continued from where people like Mode 9, Overdose, Terry the Rapman, etc, paused. This is one Nigerian artiste whose music goes beyond butts and boobs...let's appreciate truth when we see one. 6) DARE ART ALADE: I don't know if Mr Alade has considered the fact that vulgar languages/words won't fit into the rhythm of his songs but I know he does music that inspires the mind; one which does not centre on vulgar things. 7) ASHA: I don't even have much to say here. Her lifestyle and musical orientation are just too high for vulgar languages! 8. TIMI DAKOLO: Inspirational lines Mr Dakolo has. Music for him goes beyond trashy lines that analyze women's anatomy. 9) 9ICE: Okay! He is one Nigerian artiste with inspirational lines that has been able to maintain his musical sanity. 10) KOREDE BELLO: I hope this young man will be able to maintain the contents of his lyrics. Sorry guys, I wanted to add Terry G to the list but I was afraid what Nairalanders would do to me!!! |

maikachiya: Dont forget that Fulani are very active in retaliating whatever you did to them in hundred years. Remember you burn up their Men, Women and Children alive. You have to put in your mind that Fulani has both Muslim and Christian among them, but they love their people morethan anything in this World. They can invite World wide Fulani to fight you. Gov El-Rufai knew that is why he want to calm them down. For more information find the History of Fulani. So you typed this crap just to explain a useless point? When will you drop this barbaric mentality? |
Romance › Re: Financially Dependent Ladies Who Talk About Marriage Lack Vision by Rapmoney(op): 5:13pm On Dec 24, 2016 |
humilitypays: Why do Nigerian ladies have this pre-determined mindset that the only rich guys are those working in oil companies
For you ladies info, lots of firms are paying more than oil companies, and funny enough, such organizations don't usually have big name neither are they popular unless u are an insider, u won't know that they earn fat....before u shout, the last company I worked with pay more than most intl oil firms, and for your info, we had lots of foreign staffs.
It's only naive people that think oil company workers earn the highest pay or income.
Do u know most guys that sell things at Ladipo market, Alaba intl market, trade fair, oshodi clothing market, balogun, ikeja computer village, etc earn more than most top oil company workers in a day
Some of these business guys make between NGN10,000 - NGN150,000 profit on a daily basis, multiply that by 30 days, you will find out that some business men in Nigeria earn far better than most company directors and managers and they can acquire landed properties worth millions with ease whereas the white collar guys u see in big company vehicles with driver live/depend on company loans, stealing of company funds, cooperative loans, welfare and borrowing.
Pls stop using oil company workers as a reference of successful Nigerian men, it has become stale and old fashioned abeg
To the top: very insightful write-up, well done @rapmoney, preach on if they would listen Thank you, my brother |
