Godmother:You see! The person am quoting know NL very well...even way back. Not little kids that rushed into this section to bastardized it. I make front page on other sections because there is hardly any reasonable impact to make in Romance. |
Prixus:People keep saying it is impossible. How? Don't we have it on yahoo chat? The suggestion is that whatever you post, even if you 95 yrs old, if it seems childish or teenage-like, it will automatically be moved to the appropriate quarters. If this cannot be done, then nobody should come to NL to boast of being a computer or software wiz! |
Unibenstudent:How old are you? You should read original posters comments before you comment. I have already trash out the issue of this birth cert. Read!!! Don't just run your eyes thru posts! |
krall:I have a fiancée, bro. I spoke for those who might need a wife through NL ![]() |
MizMyColi:Support it with your two legs in. We can demand for what we want. |
krall:Oga, even if it is not a crime, I am not looking for a wife. |
chibwike:That's because these children love to comment on romantic issues. Some can't even pass Waec and UME. |
dorlapoh20:I guess you recently joined NL. Romance section is the most bastardized. Without NL members, the site is nothing! Or do you think it is Seun and the mods that make up NL? We shouldn't allow abnormalities all the time. This is our forum! |
coolestboy:Thumbs up for you. You just said it all. |
samflexxy:I never said I was looking for a wife. That was a general statement I made in joking way. Moreover, what does romance center on? Marriage is included. Go to the homepage of NL and see for yourself. So if a person finds a wife in Romance, it shouldn't be strange. |
Harbosede02:One thing you must know is that a kid will always open threads that are of interest to his or her age group. I bet you, it is not possible for children to open mature threads. You don't expect someone of my age to open threads like ones I mentioned in my post. |
kristina1:Sorry Sister, it is very realistic and can be done. You don't even know what Romance section looked like some 7/8 years ago. I know peeps who are fed up with the crap the children do in Romance. Most of them are teenagers if you must know. There should be a separate sub-section for them. |
MrGuruMaraji:Maturity is not by age but it matters a lot. I bet you, you won't find children in other sections on NL than you would do in Romance section. |
Harbosede02:I don't think you digested my post because if you did, you would have seen where I wrote that whoever posts topics that are childish, such topics would go to the Teen sub-section. So, nobody needs a birth certificate here. |
krall:Thanks bro. The level of childish threads on Romance is alarming. One can no longer discuss on a mature note in this section again. Haba! Wetin? |
To Oga Seun, mods and whoever this may concern, I am agitating for the partition of Romance section into age brackets. Romance is a very sensitive topic and it has so much to do with age. It is so sad that this section on NL has been hijacked by some kids who trooped in from only-God-knows-where! Ever since then, Romance section has changed drastically...in other words, it has become a playground for kids to post annoying stuffs and open silly threads. When it comes to romance, what would interest someone in his early 30's, may not interest someone who is still in his or her teenage years. On this note, I suggest that there should be sub-sections under Romance for different age groups...such as Teens, 20-26, 27-35, and so on. With this, people would be able to relate well in Romance section. It shouldn't be threads like 'Why Do Guys Love Girls?' Or 'How Can One Talk To A Girl?' every time. Abeg, which level sef? Person nor dey old pass something? Do you expect a man or woman of 30 and above who is very ripe for marriage or already married to have interest in such topics? I mean, Romancelanders should be given the opportunity to relate on a level ground. Who say you nor go fit get spouse for here? If this is done, whoever opens a thread in a sub-section that doesn't match the age-bracket, the thread is automatically moved to where it belongs. If you support this campaign, pls feel free to join. |
Fabdedon:Its an uncivilized act, bro ![]() |
funmilayoB:Below is what I feel about your post
|
Movesz:Like what bro? |
DesChyko:My guy, all na washing ![]() |
Fabdedon:Lol...your nos 5 and 7. Very true and annoying. I wonder why some people won't use head phones in the bus while travelling. |
There are some things that are so annoying which travellers do in Naija. I swear, my guy, you go just dey vex anyhow when you notice these things. Below are some of the annoying things: 1. Booking Seats: Just the way Nairalanders book space, that's how some Nigerians book seats down at the park. This is very common in big transport companies like Agofure Motors, Ekenedilichukwu and Chisco. Dem go drop their big box for the seat wen near window, then waka comot go smoke cigarette or go chop for one Buka close by without informing anybody. When the bus is about to leave, everyone starts looking for them. The worst part of it is that they won't even apologize when they return. Anybody when question dem like: 'Guy, haba where you go since? You dor delay us o!' You go hear reply like 'Wetin be your own? Person nor go chop again?' Very annoying sha.2. Buying things when the bus has started moving: Women are mostly guilty of this one! They won't buy what ever they want when the bus is still loading. When the bus starts moving, that's when they will remember that they will be needing Lacasera and Gala or bread. This act is very annoying because it delays the journey, especially if the destination is very far. e.g Warri to Ilorin And don't try to criticize them. If you do, you go hear reply like 'Shuo! Person nor fit buy something again?' or 'So make I leave my change go?' ![]() 3. Making loud phone calls: I was so unlucky on one particular occasion while travelling from Warri to Enugu. I sat close to a dude who talked loudly on phone from Warri to Awka where he highlighted. I thanked God so much and did sign of the cross secretly when he informed the driver that he would be stopping at Awka. This dude was just talking of huge amounts of money and make-believe contracts. I wonder who he was trying to impress because the women in the bus looked like married ones. I looked at him from head to toe and he didn't even look like one who had up to 50k in his account. His English was very bad also. 4. The women toasters : Students in tertiary institutions are mostly guilty of this. Dem like sit down near a fine babe for the bus. If you are not aware of their motive and you try to take position close to the babe, you go hear: ' Guy, person dey there o!' By the time the babe no give dem face for the bus, dem go come dey wan form paddy paddy with you![]() 5. Eating and leaving food particles on co-travellers: During corn and Ube (pear) season, you go fear fear. Some peeps just buy whatever they see on the way and while eating, the body of the person sitting close to them might be used as waste bin. Again, women are mostly guilty of this, especially those with babies. By the time you reach your destination, you go see Ube seed for inside your pocket ![]() Prease (In Urhobo accent) add yours. |
shakazuldadon:She must have left in fear. The truth is that people try as much as possible to avoid those with fiery temper...they are scared. Pele, I hope she believes you. Look for better ways to let her see the changes. Success!!! |
Do I know my local govt. Chairman? I don't think so. He only comes to the secretariat when there is money to be shared ![]() |
Mods, please help me move this to front page. This one is very educating. Others can share in this information. Thanks. |
Ewizard:Dude, you're funny...but on a more serious note, anyone that has anger issues needs it. |
Managing anger is not an easy task. My humble self had to battle with this monster that can cause friction between you and people around you. After applying the steps below, I started observing improvements in my relationship with people around me...family members/relatives, co-workers, neighbours, friends, etc. I just feel these steps can help people who are facing similar issues, so I decided to open this thread so others who have temper issues would learn. Thanks to Awake Magazine which has been very educating. The following are the steps to tame your temper: 1. Make a goal: instead of saying, 'that's just the way I am', strive to improve within a specified period of 6 months. During that period, keep a record of your progress. Each time you lose your temper, write down (1)what happened (2) how you reacted, and (3) how you could have reacted- and why. Make it a duty to use that better reaction the next time you are provoked. 2. Wait before reacting: When someone or something angers you, do not say the first thing that comes to your mind. Instead, wait, take a deep breath if necessary. If you say the first thing that comes to your mind, you may later regret it! 3. Expand your view: Sometimes, you might become angry because you see only one aspect of the issue - the part that affects you. Try to consider the other side of the matter. 4. If necessary, walk away: it is very wise to walk away before the quarrel breaks out. It is best to walk out away from a volatile situation. Then, rather than dwelling over the matter and letting your anger build even more , get active. 5. Learn to let go: if you allow others to provoke you all the time, you give them power over you and your emotions! Why not try to be mature and overlook the matter. If you do, you will be controlling your anger rather than letting your anger control you. Please, be mature and open minded towards this thread. We can also use this medium to relate our anger issues because I believe there are others too, who have faced similar cases. Happy New Year to you all!!! |
