Please DON'T do that.
Intercrop Peanut with maize instead biko.

Second quarter September, you can intercrop Maize with Beans by then you've gotten good quality maize at home from the first harvest because the second one may not thrive as the first one.
Personal Experience Though.

Okay. Thanks

Maryam1234:

You're cultivating beans in September aren't you?
You don't plant Bean during HEAVY rainfall sir.

I didn't plan September. I want to intercop it with maize this April. I've already bought it sef

My pleasure Sir
Have a fulfilling farming year 2024 wink
Bounty Harvest I pray thee.

Someone was telling me not to plant beans this early that rain will not allow it to dry for harvesting. I also saw where you mentioned something like that.

I was thinking the pods will always turn brown and dry on the plant, regardless of the rain.

Since labor is an issue use Paraforce for your stubborn weeds.

Yes I have seen a farmer cultivate honey beans close to my farm last year,it was great.
Big big seeds.
I will be cultivating a fraction on my land this year Insha Allah.

Thanks a lot.

Maryam1234:

I don't use Herbicide on my Bush Sir
We do manual weding.

Labour is very expensive in my city. I'll ask other farmers maybe they'll know what I can use.

This is the picture of the beans I intend to intercop with. The northern honey beans.
Do you have any experience with this particular type of beans?

What reply again?
This one here. I asked about herbicide.
RavagedHeart:

Okay. Thank you.
Which herbicide do you recommend that will not harm the corn or the beans.
Agriculture / Re: My 2022 Farm Diary by RavagedHeart: 7:16am On Feb 14
Maryam1234:

I cultivate the normal bean we buy from the open market.
Actually, we regularly have bean it's a matter of replanting already available seeds.
You can inter crop Maize and Beans that's what every farmer does.
Thank You

I'm still waiting for your reply.

Happy valentine's day kiss

Maybe 20-25 Painter depending on the species of beans cultivated
How do you get the beans you plant? Is it the normal beans that we cook that is bought from the open market and eat, or you patronise seed companies.

I plan to intercrop maize and beans on one acre this April. Is this a good move?

What most people do not know about this job is that some of the individuals can be very nasty and difficult to work with particularly the seniors with the onset of dementia and all that stuff.

Most people in the field, even the whites, would never categorize this as an outright abuse though.

Human rights, human rights, is how they've emboldened and made the individuals difficult to manage, and when you allow them to keep their human rights in their filthiness and unkemptness, the authorities will still be the ones to complain about abandonment.

If we had a country or leadership, they would have been left to be cleaning up their own mess however it pleases them.

For the miscreant up there saying "People won't do this kind of job in Nigeria but will do it abroad". Your ignorance is "Harvard-trained". What government or private entities will pay people who do these jobs abroad what they make in 3-4 hours daily?

Nonsense.

Don't mind those people quoting you and twisting the point you're trying to make.
I don't see any single abuse in the whole video. Just people struggling to do their job, and the pillow thing was intended as playful.

Not a python. The tail is longer than that of a python and the body is slimmer too.
It seems like a rare venomous specie.

Not that she said you're weak. You are really weak as f*ck, judging from your narrative. Look at what you're saying. She knows you're still weak, that's why she's back to reap you like fruit garden.
For the records. She never liked you and she never will. Not now not ever. You're just a fall back for her and nothing more.

Hello guys. Greetings to you. Please don't mind muy grammar, I'm not here for English classes lol.
My first child's almost 3years, trust me that girl can be playing and roaming about 24/7. As long as she's not asleep, her mum and I are always talking, don't do this, don't do that. Sometimes I lose my cool you know. I'm planing to enroll her into a conventional school by September because she seems really smart. My question here is, how do I handle her, she can't just stay in one place and our apartment is not really safe for her to be playing outside.
Parents and expert in the house please assist a brother with an idea of what to do.
Thank you

Never try to draw her back. Your duty is to make a safe playing and living space for her. It's very appropriate for her age and it's a sign she'll make a lot of exploits as she grows. Now that's where you come in. She'll need someone that can direct her towards a befitting life purpose so she won't waste her energy doing destructive things.

You can't begin farming with hired labor on some small acres and had profit maximization motives. At the end of the day the expenditure might become more than the Income (Output)

We do some manual works by ourselves but when we had other business to attend to we as well give it out for some token.

The Joy is we don't stress for Labourers more like he's readily available daily at our beck and call.

Our first adventure into farming was entirely done by ourselves on a subsistence basis, we're expanding and hence, the need for more hand's.

We haven't gone into mechanization though but we're optimistic and hoping for more expansion.

Of course Farming can sustain you depending on your choice of crops and the variables are that you farm the whole season (Irrigation) plus exploiting other farming opportunity like Animal farm and Fruit Vegetable farming.

Even if you want to settle for farming this year, not this period because you can't effectively maximize the land anymore except you're an Intentional being. You may not really understand the last sentences as an amateur but a seasoned farmer will know the effect of farming late on a lease land.

I'm not happy again cry cry
Let me put it like this. From your experience as a famer. Planting maize, groundnut and some veggies like pepper and the likes on two acre of land with 85% hired labour. Will the net profit per session be anywhere around 500k, or at least enough to pay rent and utilities will I learn and expand?
Pls answer from your real life experience. cool

You can make a good living if you will go into large scale commercial farming.

You're packing your bags nibo shocked
No make me laugh piss for body grin

Honestly living in this my Hamlet is economical no worries at all but relying solely on manual farming is not advisable.

If you're going into mechanize farming you're welcome 🤗 after the season you can switch to Irrigation like it's common in Zamfara and Up North before you know it you go dey invite Dangote To Dinner grin

I plan on starting with baby steps like two acre with hired labour. Was thinking it can at least sustain someone while I expand to bigger and mechanized farms as profits accumulate. But from your tone it seems not achievable undecided

Are you the one doing the manual work by yourself?

Don't leave your means of livelihood because of farm land Biko grin

Some of us are doing this thing for the fun of it and nothing more.

Imagine not buying some basic food items like Maize and Beans for a whole year Because you're eating from your own personal harvest, that's just the fun of farming nothing more please don't leave your Job,we famers are still working and hustling grin

Haha grin grin
Are you saying one can't make a good living in that area by farming alone? Is the farming not that lucrative or the cost of living is just so high that makes the stress not wort it
I no dey understand again. Abeg make me understand because I'm already packing my bags grin

The aim is to cultivate beans alongside by September because the corn that will be cultivated here will be harvested late.

26-6-2023

Cultivation Of corn was carried out today.
It's going to be a late harvest though,
May God protect the would be corn from pest in human form.

As it's going to be late harvest, human scavengers' are unavoidable grin

Much love from me to you kiss

You really mean business. There's nothing I love like plant agriculture, but getting a farmland has been a challenge.
Health / Re: Please Help! My Son Has Been Coughing And Breathing Heavily Since He Was A Year. by RavagedHeart: 10:43am On Jun 11, 2023
Lamban2:
Please people I need serious help with this. My two years old son has been having this on and off cough and heavy breathing with a bit snoring sound in the nose not really like whistling, since he was a year old. This mostly become too serious at night. I have been to different hospitals, including FMC owo. I was told to run series of test which includes hiv and tuberculosis tests which came out negative. I also did a chest xtray which turned out to be bronchopneumonia pneumonia. He was given several antibiotics which includes augmenting and several others I can’t remember and injections still the symptoms still persist. It is really worrisome seeing him going through all this on and off at this tender age. We have also been to a pediatrician, all to no positive result. Please if you have experience this before, I need your opinion on how you were able to manage it and cure this. Doctors in the forum your opinions we be greatly appreciated on how to go about this
Thanks

Look up "cystic fibrosis" and check if it matches his symptoms. Once, met a woman with the same story for her little daughter. Wasted a lot of time and money in the hospital and all they did was soak the young girl in antibiotics. I had to research for the possible causes of troubled breathing in young infants. Then narrowed it down to cystic, guided by other symptoms she was having. Met the woman again about a year later, she thanked me and told me she's not had any reason to rush her to hospital ever since. She learnt to manage it at home and the girl is doing fine

Most doctors in this country don't look beyond common causes of sickness. Or should I say they're too unwilling to do their job effectively.
