Kindly identify these Fulani groups you refer to because last time I checked there are only two (Miyetti Allah for nomadic herdsmen, ACF for general Hausa Fulani). The Fulani people, and criminal Fulani herdsmen are like the Yoruba/Igbo people and their criminal ritualists/kidnappers/cannibals. They are completely distinct. EUROBOMBER: |
EUROBOMBER:Never! He should however limit his criticism to the criminals. I'm sure you wouldn't be too pleased if El-Rufai called ALL westerners vultures because of the activities of a few ritualists despite the fact that hundreds have been killed and disembowelled, or ALL easterners cannibals because of the activities of a few igbos. Peaceful coexistence is key. |
EUROBOMBER:The body of your statement does not tally with the opening. You clearly distinguished the criminal herdsmen from the Fulani race, but seemed to have a problem with being consistent and went on attributing the herdsmen's bloody attacks on the Fulani people (made up of stationary and nomadic people). This seems insincere Eurobomber though I completely agree with you that we should keep talking about the criminal activities and FFK has that right as well. |
MizMyColi:I'm not aware, provide a link to such a statement. Regardless, the FG governs and does not represent the Nigerian people, don't grasp on straws just to support FFK's inanities. |
psucc:Those herdsmen's activities are completely condemnable and several measures have been proposed to contain their bloody excesses so I don't know what you're talking about. Unless you examine the issue without your political lens, thoughts such as that above are bound to populate your thinking. Some herdsmen have been a nuisance to their hosts since the the 19th century. |
MizMyColi:It's the only umbrella organization for the herdsmen so it's not unusual, and they themselves need to be proactive about their members activities. However the criminal herdsmen will not be cannon fodder for attacks against the entire Fulani people. |
Femi Fani Kayode is reputed for his elastic tongue, unprincipled stance and immature, poorly thought out outbursts such as those made regarding Bianca Ojukwu and the other women that had the misfortune of being intimately linked with him at some point or the other. His penchant for sucking in the vomit he utters, came to a climax with his twilight support for the PDP after consistently rubbishing them severally in the past. However FFK's recent vituperations against the entire Fulani race are not his usual uncoordinated diatribes. His insistence on attacking the entire Fulani people because of the activities of a few soulless, bloody, and murderous criminals appears to be by design, and co-ordinated with other elements and groups that are strongly opposed to the emergence of Muhammadu Buhari as President such as Afenifere, Chief Falae, and some disgruntled elements East of the Niger. The activities of some murderous blood sucking Fulani herdsmen are barbaric, criminal and downright condemnable. The lives that have been needlessly lost and families traumatized is more than enough reason for Government to tackle the menace immediately and headlong and I admonish the authorities to take prompt action. However it must by emphasized that it is completely illogical to paint the entire Fulani race which have produced the likes of Aliko Dangote, Jelani Aliyu (inventor), BUA etc., who have contributed greatly to the Nigerian economy and attracted accolades to her, with the murderous activities of a few criminal nomadic herdsmen (P.S not all Fulani's are nomadic culturally and historically). This is akin to demonizing other tribes because of the activities of a few kidnappers, ritualists and baby factory operators. It is a travesty of common sense and it is clearly politically motivated. At this time of national recovery, such careless statements by FFK are retrogressive, provocative and reek of political sabotage, which will not be tolerated any further. It is hoped that the wiser ones around him will admonish him to take caution and warn him to desist from channeling his political frustrations towards the Fulani people. |
A Fulani socio-cultural association, Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore yesterday sent a final warning to former minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-kayode over insult on the Fulani race. National president of the association, Alhaji Bello Abdullahi Bodejo gave the warning after consultation with the South-West organisations’ leaders in Abuja. According to Bodejo, Fani-Kayode have earlier described all the Fulani herdsmen as ‘tse-tse fly, locust, leeches’ and also called for the ban of herdsmen from Southern Nigeria. The Fulani leader said further that if he did not apologise to the Fulani race, they would be forced to take legal action against him. “We want Femi Fani-Kayode to publicly withdraw his hate speech and wrongful criminal allegation against the entire Fulani race and us in particular, immediately to avoid legal action by us.” Bodejo called on President Muhammadu Buhari to ensure that peace and tranquility prevails in Nigeria and that public utterances by some Nigerian are strictly watch to avoid breach of public peace in any manner in the interest of the nation. “We want FG to deal with anybody no matter highly place in Nigeria if they did not guide their utterances.” https://www.vanguardngr.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/FANI-KAYODE-TINUBU.jpg http://leadership.ng/news/472203/falaes-kidnap-fulani-group-sends-final-warning-to-fani-kayode |
Still no major news outlet reporting this story. Nobody takes breakingtimes seriously. |

The more the PDP tries to run from its minority status in the house, the more obvious it will become. Of what use is a NAY which can be obliterated by a simple majority vote? Ameachi's confirmation is done and that's final. |
The suspension of the EEG payments which has been affecting our non oil exports negatively, was suspended in August 2013. |
Wrong. The reasons given for the drop was the stoppage of Export Expansion Grant payment, and the insurgency, events which took place before May 29th, 2015. While the solution is not in stamping blame, but be honorable enough to acknowledge GEJ's incompetence. P.S. OP, 2Q covers April, May and June 2015 TonyeBarcanista: Nnemuka:
|
chinchum:You've exposed the wailer, OP kindly answer ![]() Watch them blame Buhari for a fall of revenue in April/May under Jonathan. I hope we can now see that the effects of the insurgency are not limited to the IDP camps. |
If you had equally demanded action instead of screaming 'role model' when oil still sold for above $100 under Jonathan, Nigeria wouldn't be running '@ zero level' today. temitemi1: |
To deal with uncommon problems, It is believed that one should develop uncommon solutions. Although it's not quite usual, the current rock bottom oil prices means we must become efficient and the ministries have to be pruned to minimize the cost of governance. Nigerians are behind you PMB. |
The OPA deals were like honey and Diezani was the Queen Bee that directed their operation and swam in the goodies. Can you imagine that in some cases our sweet crude containing many derivatives including Diesel, Jet A1, Petrol, Kerosene etc. was swapped for the same quantity of only Petrol? PMB is thankfully walking the talk and restoring sanity to the oil sector; OPA scams are finally corruption. |
Are you suggesting that the PDP did not hand over a rotten foundation for Buhari to build on? |
This was not unexpected, considering the numerous alias's that some politicians use to open bank accounts. It's in Nigeria where the two year old grandson of a Minister will have assets to his name, all in a bid by the minister to hide his looted funds. However there is always a paper trail to any transaction, hence serious compliance monitoring must be carried out by the CBN otherwise the effect of the scheme risks being diluted. |
Bayswater:What you need is a dose of honesty, a pair of glasses and a refund from your primary school. Jonathan's men diverted the Zambian people's money. clevadani: |
dearpreye:I'm glad you appreciate our diversity for once. |
Well researched and factual. Just an addition; Impunity. Impunity means "exemption from punishment or loss or escape from fines". The PDP was synonymous with impunity as could be seen by the complete disregard for the rule of law, as demonstrated in the cases of: - the refusal to investigate the Ekitigate crisis, - refusal to penalize Oritsejafor and co for the failed arms deal, - initial refusal to release the NNPC audit report, - refusal to investigate political murders, - flagrant abuse of state instruments for electoral benefit, - failure to investigate OBJ's $16bn power scam, - failure to investigate and prosecute the Immigration jobs scam/disaster among many others. The culture of the PDP was that of corruption, impunity and lawlessness which gradually and consistently destroyed Nigeria over 16 years of its misrule and it is a travesty of logic to blame anyone else for their disastrous failure. |
Lies. The money was fraudulently paid into the Presidents son's account by Jonathan's men after the purchased oil was fraudulently sold to Zambian marketers at a profit. This impunity underlines PDP's disastrous reign. Bayswater: |
Great recommendations mostly. I however thought we'd see economic diversification i.e solid mineral development/agriculture given prime position, to generate alternative income streams in these dire times, instead of asking the FG to completely take its hands off the steel mills. As prescribed by the author, PMB is already streamlining the MDA's which is critical to the needed reforms. We need to strategically cherry-pick unsolicited recommendations from foreign interests, instead of swallowing everything hook, line and sinker. |
Some disillusioned wailers will quickly tell us Jonathan was in the APC since 1993 and joined PDP to become President . During the 16 years of PDP, Jonathan was Deputy Governor, Governor, VP and President, but today Otueke, his hometown, lacks potable water; was it former or present APC members that tied his hands (and brain)? The PDP destroyed Nigeria on all levels for the past 16 years. Fact. |
How could GEJ have implemented the TSA when he was the captain of the looting parade in the first place? Jonathanians should wake up from their dream. |
Change delivered. |
MurderX:Grammar not 'Grammer'. Should we also question your credentials? |
Edwin Clark should bury his head in shame for speaking from both sides of his mouth. He couldn't take the heat from his kinsmen, especially the ex-militants and finally folded despite his advanced years. The man spoke the truth, but he was not sincere. Jonathan lacked the political will to fight corruption and looted our treasury so Pa Clark was right, but claiming he never benefited anything from GEJ was the height of treachery, deceit and dishonesty. No wonder NDLF told the man to shut up! |
It's silly of the IMF to condemn the devaluation of the Chinese currency when China is a highly industrialized and manufacturing nation, and then turn around to prescribe the same thing for our oil based economy, whose prices and output we do not control, meaning we cannot benefit from the core motive of devaluation which is to encourage the growth of our foreign reserves through increased capital in-flow triggered by cheaper exports which would then boost the Naira. The senselessness of IMF's desire for Nigeria to devalue our currency while crying about China's devaluation underlines the fact that these shylocks are only protecting their western interests. We are still recovering from their recommended SAP policy in '86. They can go to hell. Depreciation it is. |
Channels keeps winning that award because they have successfully remained non-partisan over the years, while being consistent in operating as a core news channel. The award is credible and is awarded by the Nigerian Media Merit Award Trust, which publishes nominees each year, but Channels always clinches the best station award quite deservedly. http://newtelegraphonline.com/nigeria-media-merit-awards-announces-nominees/ Kudos to Tony Momoh. |
centvin008:Good riddance to fair weather defectors and potential internal saboteurs. Kudos to Bayelsa APC for weeding them out in timely fashion. |
