PoliticsRe: FG Orders IG To Hand Over Saraki Money Laundering Case File by Rawani:
There are many ways to bell a cat.

Saraki has clearly gotten the message, and is now falling in line. All of sudden his spokesman Dino is offering to negotiate the Senate rule on senatorial backing for proposed ministers, and all that arrogant posturing pre-CCT is now deflated.

However while an obedient Saraki is more valuable than a wounded Saraki, the man must fully account for his fraudulent asset declaration among other allegations, in our national interest; this is not about wailers or masturbators.
PoliticsRe: Okonjo-iweala Backs Buhari On Corruption War by Rawani: 6:14am On Oct 13, 2015
stanleychimezie:
Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala commented on Mr. Buhari assigning the petroleum ministry to himself.

“I think the president has the prerogative to do a lot of things, and this is not the first time in our country. President Obasanjo was also the president of Petroleum Resources in his time. I am not saying this is the best way or best practice but I am just saying for our
circumstances it is not the first time,” she said.

“If that will bring more clarity, more openness, more transparency to the way the oil sector is done no problem, it’s ok.
But if it will not, we have to ask questions.”
Just look at this.

The learned and erudite economist NOI is clearly investing her confidence in PMB'S ability to administer and transform the petroleum ministry on the basis of existing precedents and his personal attributes/political will which fuel the war against corruption, despite acknowledging that it might not be the ideal approach, and against the background of OBJ's mediocre performance when he adopted the same strategy.

If this vote of confidence in PMB from NOI does not clear the ethno-partisan crust distorting the sight of some of his detractors that fail to see the path of recovery he is leading us through, then I wonder what will.
PoliticsRe: Femi Adesina Mounts Hot Seat On Social Media Over His Latest Comments On Buhari, by Rawani: 11:55am On Oct 12, 2015
The SA is simply saying performance should be the metric for evaluating ministers, and not idle criteria.

Mogidi:
Femi is more Bubu than Bubu himself, what a load of rubbish.
PoliticsRe: Ministerial Nominee, Babatunde Fashola’s CV by Rawani:
An erudite senior advocate and politician, BRF will bring his wealth of experience with him to any portfolio he is appointed to.

His confirmation should face no opposition regardless of the propaganda peddled against him.

I only came to add
1. Builta a website with 176million naira.
2. Sunk a borehole with 250million naira.
Seun, how much did it cost you to build this your website?
This is dead on arrival, until you petition appropriately all your wailing is just hot air.
PoliticsRe: My Response To: Boko Haram And Jonathan: The Truth Unfolds - Thisday By Koboko69 by Rawani: 10:24am On Oct 12, 2015
Goodluck Jonathan clearly lacked the capacity and political will to fight BH, afterall it didn't make any financial, strategic or political sense to do so since they could keep looting the treasury in the name of fighting the insurgency up till when the elections approached, while decimating and systematically disenfranchising his opponents stronghold. It seemed like a win-win.

Unfortunately Nigerians had already had enough of his deceit, incompetence and were not fooled with the 6 week political deception; deservedly kicking him into the dustbin of our national history.
PoliticsRe: Saraki Replies Sun Newspapers Over Allegations by Rawani: 7:21am On Oct 12, 2015
Well The Sun has succeeded in extracting restatements of loyalty to President Buhari from both Bola Tinubu and Saraki, so all's well that ends well.

kikesblog:
APC
This ambiguity is in part purposeful; their villainy seeks to place the innocent on edge and to cause those who must work together if the nation is to progress to begin to doubt the bona fides of each other. With such a story, they hope to break the walls of confidence so that they may kindle mutual animus between the President and Tinubu.

By getting the two to fight and weaken each other, they may then swoop down to destroy both. If this nation is to have more than a fleeting chance of escaping the quagmire into which years of PDP misrule have taken us, we cannot allow these regressive elements to deploy their cunning tricks to divide and pit progressive against progressive.
Here, I will do those who inhabit the shadows of untruth a favor. I will state explicitly what they hoped to get the reader to infer. Their claim is that Tinubu has joined with Saraki to scuttle the President’s ministerial nominations. They have misfired.
The Jagaban of Borgu grasped this one quite well.

The alliance between Buhari and Tinubu is such a robust and intimidating one that it sends their enemies into nerve shattering panic, so these juvenile plots are quite understandable despite being utterly laughable.

PoliticsRe: Ministerial Nominees: Interrogating President Buhari’s Mindset by Rawani: 3:19am On Oct 11, 2015
Freemanan:
For instance, DOW says 15% of global construction is presently going on in Dubai. Pray, if the leadership there takes the type of time Nigeria’s President takes to merely nominate ministers, that city would not be where it is today.
The UAE's leader achieved all of those by refusing to waste the oil price boom and investing their oil proceeds in developing tourism thereby diversifying the economy with the surpluses, not by looting the treasury and wasting high oil prices and protecting career looters like Diezani only to cry later when the prices fall.

Neither were the UAE's achievements through ministerial lists; in a country that does not operate ministries. While the list could have been better, it is miles ahead of the unguided touts and riggers that previously held sway.
PoliticsRe: APC Youth In Kwara Reject Lai Mohammed's Ministerial Nomination by Rawani:
Which Illorin youth? The ones that protested in favour of Saraki's alleged fraud or the ones from NANS that betrayed their fellow Nigerian students by honouring the fugitive drug courier Kashamu recently before he was sacked?

Our youths have lost their innocence and the value of this protest is as little as the stipends likely paid to mobilize them. The excuses offered are flimsy as Lai could not have been coordinating the defeat and sacking of Africa's former largest ruling party from Illorin instead of Lagos.

The conscience of the youth movement in Nigeria is apparently now for hire.
PoliticsRe: Presidency Denies Placing Tinubu Under Security Watch by Rawani: 8:33pm On Oct 10, 2015
Of course the "surveillance" emanated from the decayed core of a dying conquered party which has decided to employ juvenile propaganda to further its wicked agenda of destabilizing the relationship between the President and national leader of the ruling party.

Nigeria is bigger than 'his people'. The sooner you accept that Ameachi did what he did for Nigeria and not the ND, the easier you will sleep at night because it will take more than a resurrected senate rule to stop the Lion of Ubima.

Your statement suggests that you wanted Ameachi to support that corrupt administration just because he and Jonathan hailed from the same region, regardless of the effect the looting and mismanagement would have on the quality your life and that of all other Nigerians.

Wonders shall never end.

Still reeling from laughter that the wailers' comments on that other thread triggered..
That darling Bubu is trying to get into Saraki's good graces,so the senators can "help" him pass his nominees like they had any choice but to do so...
one can't help but laugh...
grin cheesy grin
They do not realize Saraki will do anything at this point to get PMB to intervene in his travails, he might end up as a rubber stamp to the executive ironically at this rate; even more impetus for his ejection from that hallowed seat.
PoliticsRe: My Trial Not Discussed In Meeting With Buhari – Saraki by Rawani:
The President has long absolved himself of Saraki's travails so this comes as no surprise.

GOATandYAMtheory:
“What we are taking away is for Nigerians to be confident that government is working. We are committed to work together and it is going to be for the good of Nigerians at large.
I hope Saraki is not speaking in his personal capacity because PMB is not working together with a usurper and fraudster like him even if Hell freezes over.

If Saraki worked together with his fellow party senators from the beginning, I doubt he would be facing his present travails.

Criticism is different from condemnation. He clearly said he was generally impressed with the list.

byrron:
Akpabio promised to make efforts in ensuring the success of the Buhari administration.‎
He said:

“So far, on a personal note, I am impressed with the list that was sent by the President. I believe that he has kept his word by ensuring that we seek out people of integrity who can salvage the country. But of course, the Senate will still do its work of screening and re-screening and I pray that more than 70 or 80 per cent of the list should pass through.”

PoliticsRe: Solomon Dalung's Nomination, Lots Of Love From Core Northerners. by Rawani: 8:01pm On Oct 06, 2015
Some divisive elements who have succeeded in dividing the south through lack of tact and diplomacy in dealings, seem to be bent on creating a division in the North through the kinds of statements you stated were made.

Unfortunately, the unity of Arewa is long and deeply forged and it will take more than idle propaganda to drive a wedge between northerners. The current challenge is in tackling the menace of criminal elements perpetrating their crimes while masquerading under a toga of an ethnic militia and hopefully the leadership can take concrete steps to halt the rampaging criminals.

Congratulations to Solomon Dalong and we hope he realizes he must deliver or give way.
PoliticsRe: EFCC Holds Omokore, Diezani’s Associate by Rawani: 8:51am On Oct 06, 2015
Secession is still on the table? I appreciate you have confirmed you're unpatriotic, unfortunately that is a foundation too shaky for any robust debate on our national affairs. If you are able to wave off such insincerity (secession and sudden patriotism), I cannot expect you to be sincere in your submissions.

There was no point in pretending in order to make a point, you are not a patriot and Diezani and her cronies would not have been investigated if your candidate had won. Good luck with your plans.

Truckpusher:
Last time I checked it is morally right for any region to scream seccesion if they feel that the current system do not give equal representation and opportunities and that's another topic for another day . Talk about the issue at hand.

Why is the fight against corruption being selective ?
Why are they even thinking about giving out ministerial positions to ex Governors that looted more than the past Petroleum Minister ? Is that justice , equity and fairness ?
This is what I want us to talk about - Even as the option of secession is still on the table .
PoliticsRe: EFCC Holds Omokore, Diezani’s Associate by Rawani: 8:28am On Oct 06, 2015
No sir, a true patriot would not scream secession because their candidate lost, what happened to your clamour for Lower Niger Congress? Now that Jonathan's defeat has sunk in you suddenly want to claim to be a patriotic Nigerian despite sowing the seeds of secession in the hearts of other young disgruntled Jonathanians before abandoning them? That is insincere, unpatriotic, dishonest and self-serving.

You are therefore in no way a patriot and in no way better than me. QED.

Truckpusher:
Political affiliation is all about interest and ideology and I have always chosen the PDP over any other political party and I do not regret it , however after the elections and if your political party didn't scale through what is now left is for you to play the opposition and that doesn't mean that whoever was responsible of any act of mismanagement shouldn't be brought to book and this is the hallmark of a true patriot unlike you and your folks who see nothing wrong in baba's selective justice. This is why I'm a better man than you.
Pray that you should have my kind of mentality - and not the one way traffic you're all used to.
Nigeria is our first priority and individuals comes second.
Let's us go after criminals and not some criminals leaving the rest because they are your friends - A criminal is always a criminal.

Truckpusher:
Just imagine how much these crooks stole with no conscience.

Buhari needs to take this fight to another level including the thieves hibernating under APC to escape justice.
Their kind of stealing must have been what led the Nigerian Medical Association to recommend psychiatric tests for intending political office holders, because the amounts and frequency of their stealing suggests kleptomania mixed with some complex mental issues.

But last time I checked, you wanted the PDP/Goodluck administration to continue in office, do you reckon Diezani and her minions would have been apprehended or even investigated under that administration?
PoliticsRe: EFCC Holds Omokore, Diezani’s Associate by Rawani: 7:49am On Oct 06, 2015
Great. This arrest, coupled with the findings from the raid on Diezani's two houses means it's very likely Diezani will be apprehended as soon as she steps into this country.

I sometimes wish the Umaru Dikko treatment was still possible for these kinds of runaway looters.
PoliticsRe: Damning Revelations Of How ECONET Was Bundled Out Of Nigeria by Rawani:
Modath this eye opener highlights the underhand dealings that go on between our government and multinationals and the impunity therein.

In a seminar a few years ago, my tutor was using Nigeria as an example for corporate fraud and its effect on organizational change and was exaggerating the situation when I calmly reminded him that foreigners are the ones that keep the rot going by continuing to issue bribes and engaging in dubious deals in their greedy quest for profits.

Ibori must have successfully blackmailed similar companies in the past for him to make such audacious threats, a trend which underlines the culture of impunity that characterized the PDP's misadministration of Nigeria.

We must salute the integrity of the author.

Thank goodness for the prosecution's success today, although £27k is Pringles money to Madueke.
PoliticsRe: Diezani To Be Charged Alongside Her Mother - Sahara Reporters by Rawani:
I hope mummy warned the naughty judge to stop witch-hunting her little girl.

Like the proverbial thief that asked for his mother before being executed, she is bringing her own mum to the courts with her, since she joined in the fraud instead of cautioning her daughter to stop stealing our money.

Whether she brings her mother, grand-mother or village witch, Diezani must face justice.

May we never be sources of disgrace to our parents.
PoliticsRe: A Generation Of Confused Youths by Rawani:
Poverty and bigotry, built on ignorance, might explain the motives behind such behaviour.

Poverty: because the young man wants to make a quick buck, but lacks the foresight and insight to realize that his corruption-shielding actions worsen his current situation in the long run, after the N10k is squandered.

Bigotry: some of these groups are derived from state and ethnic associations (e.g. abc State Indigenes Association) who seek to 'protect' their kinsmen, but are again ignorant of the socio-economic effects of their myopic decision over time.

Until our socio-economic conditions per capita improve, and there is a national re-orientation through improved education as well as targeted enlightenment campaigns aimed at segments of the general populace, we will continue to see such short-sighted and self-destructive campaigns from our youths.

It's all about perspective. There's no doubt the UK poses many challenges to the average Nigerian migrant, however proper planning equips one to exploit the opportunities that also exist as many Nigerian professionals in the UK would testify.

Stricter immigration laws it seems however, will reduce the rate at which Nigerians rush to England from now on, especially as our students are now losing the work permit on their Tier 4 visa.

In all paragraphs, you completely ignored the NL users perspective. Frankly those ads are distracting and downright annoying at times which affects the user experience on NL (especially when absorbed in the topic). It's not always about the site trying to make money.

The same reason you put an ad-blocker on your computer, could be the same reason Seun is taking such measures on his site.

Save and invest in ads if you really value the NL audience.
