Lexyp: Good day house ,pls want to ask a quick question, a decision on my application was overturned and was asked to return my passport which i did going to a week now, my question is does anyone know the time frame i will be asked to come pick it up? Thanks in advance. Boss the whole appeal process is a long one, this is just going by what I have been reading on this forum. You just have to be very patient. So from when your appeal was granted until when you eventually get your visa it’s a long wait. |

Lexyp: Just so bad people don't respond to questions on here ,only when you share a congratulation message u will see reply lol Probably because people haven’t gone through that experience before, and they don’t want to give you the wrong information. You can ask that question in the other forum too, because from what I read it does take a while with appeal processes, that’s even after the appeal has been granted. Some even do a new application (Only from what I have read), if you check the general visa forum am sure they would have answers for you. |

mimilyrics: Not necessary. Deed polls are not required for name changes due to marriage and updated BRPs have to be requested within 3 months of the name change (in this case, when the passport is updated to reflect the new details) in order to avoid paying a £1,000 fine. That’s fine thanks for educating me, nice to learn a new thing everyday. |

KaceeDcontrol: Hello guys Many thanks for the work you are doing. Quick question please, if someone enters the UK with their maiden name on their Nigerian passport and BRP, but wishes to update the BRP to husband's name, what is the process? Should an update of the BRP be applied for when the passport still has the maiden name or does the passport need to be renewed with the new name before the BRP can be updated? Or can the person just start using the new name here while the BRP and Nigerian passport still have the maiden name since there is a marriage certificate? Note that the marriage took place shortly before the visa application commenced and the Nigerian passport still has up to 2 years before expiry. You can change it by deed poll, then wait until your passport is about to expire in 2 years time. Then send your deed poll certificate to have the BRP changed, then get your passport in the new name on your BRP. |

dkgetmuny: VISA ALERT! (For my wife)
First Application- March 20th, 2022 (Denied) Reason-We were very arrogant about the application thinking just showing them a bank statement with millions of naira was enough. my wife stated she was the sponsor of the trip and presented a bank statement of about 8m without any explanation (Most of the payments were from me ). She also didn't present the account her salary was paid into. So VO stated that the reason for denial was my wife making 360k doesn't correlate with over 8m found in her account.
Second Application- April 30th (Approved) Biometrics- May 5 "Ipadabo Abija" This one was very water tight with documentation and evidence. This time she presented me as the sponsor presented her salary account-2m, our joint Nigerian account-3m, her other Nigerian account-11m and My US bank account. she drew up an excel spreadsheet explaining every inflow and outflow over 100k. she attached my US Passport, My Sons US Passport, My letter of employment and my payslip. she attached letter of introduction from her employee, payslip, promotion letter, wedding pictures, marriage certificate, Hotel reservation. I wrote a cover letter stating i will be sponsoring the trip and she will be going with my son who is a US citizen and doesn't need a visa, I also stated i will join them there from the US. She wrote a cover letter apologizing for the oversight in the last application and agreed that she should have broken down how she got 8m in her account. she then went on to state the source of money (From me, side business and allowance from work).
In all I believe too much information is never a disadvantage and the more information you provide the easier your chances will be.
Let me know if you have any questions. Congrats, loved this feedback. If you explain things and try and keep your application clean as much as possible then they would not have ground to deny some people, as long as the application isn’t confusing to these ECO. |

Genlit33: I think this visa thing is luck now, was denied in Nov, was very confident because of my statement and balance, and honestly don't really have any plan to stay in the Uk but was refused, these Eco s they don't know what they are doing, the guy beside me at tls ikeja that he's going to Uk for visit visa and he's not coming funny enough he was given the visa. People with good intentions are denied while those that want to Japa are given visa. The Eco s are really incompetent. An thinking of applying again, still contemplating of applying or may be forget it. I really do believe they have a quota. I have been reading different countries visa applications and a lot of them are hit and miss. |

bluebella: Good evening to everyone here. Please I need some advice from the Elders/Great minds here.
So I saw a van on auto trader contacted the seller and told him that I will credit his account £200 to show commitments which I did. Cost of the van was £1700. The following day I went to see the van and realized that the van does not come up (start). I told him that let me think if I will continue with the deal or not and that he should give 3-4 hours to make some calls. I left his garage because I needed to do school runs and other things at home. He kept calling if am still interested or not and I told him that I will get back to him that night. A couple of hours later I called him that am no longer interested in buying the van since it doesn't start and I will like a refund. He said his boss won't do a refund and that he will get his boss to ring me in the morning.
I waited for his boss' call all morning to no avail. Eventually, the boss called later afternoon and told me that that they will not be doing any refund. That I cannot just be messing people around. I sent him a text message that he should pls refund the £200 and I don't want any problems. He has kept mute since yesterday.
The van has been taken off the auto trader site.
Please I need advice on how to handle this case. If this is at a garage then you should be getting your money back. You haven’t driven it off the forecourt, you didn’t stop them from selling it to someone else, I don’t even know how you need to go about this. Did you sign anything that you wouldn’t get a refund or you would if you change your mind? |

midep: The useless UKVS for flimsy reason refused my application. Despite earning Abt N14m per annum.
Provided all documents, employment records and bank statement.
The confirm all documents submitted and got a positive response yet the baggar said he/she is not convinced that i will return as some of the deposit in my account statements are inconsistent.
Account statement that i use for Salary alone. You probably need to have a look at monies that was been deposited in that account, address that issue before reapplying. Since you already make adequate money you just need to make sure unnecessary deposit isn’t in that account, and if there are then just clarify where the money is from etc. There are loads of tutorials in the thread to help when it comes to running your bank account for Visiting visa application. Good luck next time.. |

Irenenwaka: Please secondly, i have a very close friend who is based in the uk. His fiancée is currently in Nigeria. He intends bringing her over. Currently they have done trads and will only do a court wedding.
My question: I have heard that the home office don’t accept documents from all courts in Nigeria. Please they would like to the wedding in imo state, is this possible? And Can anyone recommend any courts they have previously used in Imo state and whose document is acceptable by the UKVI. If a court wedding registered in Nigeria? Am guessing it is, me and my spouse had our wedding (Registry) in Abeokuta. After being told the only place they accept was Ikoyi… But that was the wrong info, UKVI recognised any registry marriage. So am sure it shouldn’t be an issue. |

Yes you can, but make sure you have a L plate plastered to your car, and someone that has a full UK licence for over 3 years sits next to you when you drive. You can or have to change the Nigerian licence over to a provisional one after some time though. |

Don't waste your time and money going there to book If you can get an appointment then great do that. Multiple people couldn’t. Senpurelove: Good morning All, I need some further clarification.
We are family of 4 myself, my wife and two lovely girls. My wife applied for s student visa in one of the UK universities. CAS issued, biometric done. But my fear is that ; (1) My wife who is the main applicant has 17 years study gap and in that 17 tears gap she has 15 years working experience where 13 years in within the federal civil service while two years is in teaching experience (2) Her first degree is in French language and she is going for International business mgt in UK. Is there anything to be afraid of. Thanks I don’t see anything to worry about at all, the gap in studies is irrelevant to anyone. You have people who go back to studying in their 40-50s. So don’t worry yourselves. |

HRprof: You are very lucky you did not receive 10 years band . Agent will not help you they can only implicate you . If you reaply and the information you put there is different from agent package you will get another refusal. Mind you the company the agent claim you work the ECO will like to see salary transfer payment from the company to your salary account not deposit, i wonder how you want to achieve that. Agents are after your money they will never tell you the implications involve. I seriously don’t know why people use agents for visiting visas. Just do the application yourselves. These agents can get someone ban for years. |

wanney: Pls assist with answers to the question above We (Panel of interviewers) usually ask this question so that we can hurry up and decide if we want you or not. So I usually sit on a panel of 3, and we need to take time off to tally an applicant’s score after the interview. If an interviewer tells us that he or she has an interview somewhere else then we always try to offer them the role if they score high at the interview. This is to prevent them from taking up the other interview in most cases. |

Says; At 10,000 signatures, government will respond to this petition. Currently 6,812 of 10,000.

It’s better for her to build her work history at the new place, 3 months of employment just seems too soon. If you are a student then am guessing you not leaving the country in a couple of months. But as someone else said it’s up to you guys. In your case there is no need for urgency to be honest, she can work for at least 6 months, and apply after that. Is there an urgent reason why she is applying so quickly after starting her job in April? Better chance is to relax, get paid work in for at least 6 months where she is currently working, before applying. Unless there is an urgent reason for applying to visit. |

Bosslady25: He was oh... someone advised that I school while he works , hence, the change and confusion. Well, that’s the same question I asked my siblings too. That’s why I need the advice. I’m just confused. Ok trust me the settlement thing is a bit too complicated in this scenario. I don’t even know which angle you can use to get through settlement. Your siblings cannot file for you, nor could your mother just because you are over 18 etc. You guys would get your visas via your husband trust me, don’t be anxious and create confusion. Most people who are born in the UK don’t have any clue about what others go through when it comes to immigration. I had to learn about laws and speak to people on here to clue myself up. So pls don’t let anyone give you the wrong info. If your husband is getting his stuff sorted out then you and your kids would GET your visas as his dependent, Once you are here then you can explore your rightful options before he (You and the kids) is due for renewal. |

Bosslady25: my siblings in the UK( they were born there), suggested getting an immigration lawyer to file for settlement for me and my family from Nigeria , instead of me spending money on a student visa. Quick question because I followed your story prior to this, on what basis did your siblings want you to file for settlement visa? And I thought your hubby was already getting sorted which makes it easy for his dependent (You and his children) to be granted visas easily. I don’t think you need to complicate things. But am sure there are others here who would have more advise for you. And honestly why do you need an immigration solicitor? |
