Thanks for responding.
I have a nigerian DL though its a colored photocopy. I cant place the hardcopy.
I came in January.
To get a UK provisional license you need to have been in the UK for just over 6 months first, maybe that’s why they are asking for a guarantor.

But you can drive as a learner on your Nigerian licence for at least 12 months, in the mean time.

Please how did you go about your provisional license, i applied online , paid and was sent a form to fill which requires a guarantor.
The guarantor is the problem like this.
Does it mean people like us that does not know anybody in this country will not drive?
Did you have a Nigerian licence? If not then have you been in the UK for at least 6 and half months?
RomanceRe: My Daughter Has Been Admitted To The Hospital by Ray7878: 2:05pm On Mar 22, 2022
Ask for her blood test results. Which should show her HbA1c (For diabetes), 2 to 3 Blood pressure readings for hypertension diagnosis and any cardio results that enabled him to come to this decision.

If the Dr has all of those for you then let us know. And how old is your daughter? Do you know her weight? Height? Pulse rate? Try and see if you can get all these information.

Any doctor would need most of that information to diagnose her with Diabetes, hypertension and heart disease.

A friend has been having issue with an overzealous tenant who act like she owns the house because she's oldest tenant with about 6 years. An issue happened over the weekend which required police intervention. Please see attached screenshot.

The issue now is that my friend plan to send the agency a message that he wouldnt be going ahead with an outstanding January half rent payment he earlier agreed to if they don't reply to the email he sent. The agency has a bit of not replying to tenant emails on housing issues.
The January rent is outstanding because he refused to pay them when the house boiler went bad & his bathroom was leaking for about 2 weeks in December. I think the agency later negotiated for half rent instead of no rent payment.
This some serious issues. For one the agency needs to have a meeting and give clarity to every single person in the property. Do they want multiple bins in a communal kitchen? Do you have to leave your individual bins in your rooms etc

Your mate can withheld the rent money until they deal with the issues at hand. You pay for comfort, not to be abused physically or emotionally.

Finally I hoped you reported the assault to the police. And had the other neighbour as a witness. Was the other neighbour attacked too? Or her son just only attacked you?

Alake.....
Before you let someone confuse you on this forum, I hope you know that there is an aspect of this whole thing that it's only you that knows? So far on this forum, it's only you that knows the precise reason why you have that exemption vignette. Again, I will say it. Having an exemption vignette alone does NOT give u access to public funds.
Although I am tempted to ask, but I will not ask you which of the categories is your exemption based on.
Why are you targeting the reason why he has an exemption? That’s my question. The reason he has an exemption is irrelevant when it comes to access to public fund. Again am not having a go at you, just wondering the rational behind that.

The link you provided says nothing about having access to public fund. Just things about exemption from immigration control.

So you aren’t tackling the actual question. Did you see the screenshot that I provided? Anyone who is under “Refugee status, humanitarian, right of abode, exemption of immigration control, ILR” etc can have access to public fund. The reason why they have a refugee status or why they have a right of abode is irrelevant.

Please, kindly do not say this as if you are sure.
You do not know the basis for the exemption (in this case).
I don’t think you understand the mean of what was place in front of you. You are questioning the basis of the said exemption. That is not the question that was place to the forum.

The question is straightforward, if you are exempt from immigration control you are have rights to public fund. Irrespective of whatever the basis of their exemptions are.

It’s right there in black and white, if you have no recourse to public fund this is something that they would make clear to you 100%. They don’t dance around that.

The link that you provided were not relevant to this case. I have screenshot exactly those who are entitled to it.

They usually send a survey when they respond to a paid mail to ask if their response/service was satisfactory. Not sure if this is what you got.

I did Biometrics on Jan 11, kept my passport too...still waiting. Sent more than 4 paid mails and 2 phone calls to escalate...Same response - a decision has been made.

I haven't got a decision mail yet. I wonder if it would have been better to have given them the passport !
I swear you would have been better to leave your passport there from what I have read on here. Usually when you get a “Decision has been made” most always collect their passport after 15 working days at TLS without waiting for an email.

Yes, it doesn't but I thought if one fulfills one of the conditions (in here is fulfilled an exemption from immigration control) then one can claim public funds? I'm now more confused than ever before. embarassed
It’s actually quite straightforward. The question isn’t if you are under immigration control. You are past that point, because you are exempt from immigration control. You don’t need a right of abode to have access to public funds.

The question is can people who are exempt from immigration control have access to public fund and the answer is yes. If you have no access to public fund then it would state it in your vignettes clearly.

Can someone who is not subject to immigration control (on Exempt vignette) claim public funds?

Yes . You are “exempt” so you have access to housing etc

Good Morning Everyone

A quick question

Is it advisable for a spouse to do change of name prior to passport application.
Depends on you. If she already has a valid passport then she can always change that when she gets here.

Knew someone who got married in September at Abeokuta, his wife never had a passport, changed everything via affidavit and by October they got her passport, did her TB, English test, NIN, bank account changed and her application is at UKVI right now.

Am I over reacting?

My wife makes hair. She has been getting customers from other african countries on social media. One time, she charged a lady from Sierra Leone £40 for her daughter's hair, fortunately the lady was impressed after the job and paid £50.

Now in church, there are some people from her place, she approached them and told them about her craft that they should patronise her and possibly refer customers because they have been hear way longer.

Do you know that these people have been calling to make their children's hair with abeg. The abeg is not with small money o, it's for free. The one that was even considerate enough to pay is pricing £10 from £30 she was told. I've told wifey to leave them, they should go and continue where they were paying since they don't want to pay us. If their previous place was doing it free, they should continue there as well.
No offence to Nigerians in churches but they are some of the worse people to try and do things like that with. Once you tell them what you do and how much you charge, they would completely ignore that and expect you to do it for free. My mother with through that same thing.

And as you said it was other African people who would pay the exact amount for my mother’s business. Nigerians in her church would expect to be charged nothing or to pay 20% for your time. Just because you are church members and Nigerians.

No point in going to Nigerians churches and thinking you would be able to do business there. They are mostly freeloaders.

Yeah it’s crazy how people are separated from their spouse. But we got to remember that there are other countries also applying in the same way Nigerian are. I was checking online and saw multiple threads within India, they all were going through the same thing as Nigerians are. It’s a game of patience.

That’s over 60WD, I wonder how long those of us that applied this year would have to wait, please update us when they make a decision on your application.
I have seen some getting theirs before 60WD on this forum. So I really don’t understand anymore. Some applied for spouse visa via their partners that were studying, I think those ones are quicker from what I have noticed. The ones who married British citizens seems a lot longer.

That’s not good to be honest, it would serve you best to get a new passport before you submit your application.

sorry about your experience. maybe this problem is from Monzo. They should be able to help you quicker.
Mine was flight tickets as well. Was trying to purchase flight tickets, got taken to a 3rd party agent with good deals. Deals way lower than carrier sites. I filled in all details and put in my card details. Unknown to me, this people do something fishy immediately you put your details as this is usually the last step in online purchases. Unbeknownst to me additional 150 pounds from nowhere had been added to the ticket price. I didnt even see it intime and they make the website interface appear in such a way that the moment you are inputting your card details, it sort of covers the amount you are paying so you wont see the scam going on. I just went on to click pay now, that’s when I realized the ticket price had fraudulently been increased by £150.

Too late to stop transaction. The payment had gone through and the money debited. I was vexed in my spirit. I began to think of what to do next. 1 hour later they sent me the complete tickets. I was just upset at the way they had fraudulently taken my money. Like tell me from the onset this is the price of a thing, not to advertise a lower price to lure me in and then last minute defraud me.

Immediately I searched for their contact number online… no headway.. you just keep calling a non existent number.. they also have no email info just so nobody will be able to reach them. As soon as I realised what was going on, I logged onto my Barclays bank app and filled the form to help with transaction. I disputed the extra 150 that was topped at the last minute and which I was not aware of and how the company deliberately had no means of reaching them. Sent them proofs of what’s on their site and what it miraculously changes to at payment time. 1 hour later, barclays retrieved this disputed £150 and returned it to me. They also followed up with the merchant’s bank when they started to spill rubbish. Tickets were still valid for time of travel and I used them without any hitch.
Wow I have never heard of this before, thanks for sharing.

Nigeria here is nothing to write home about.

At least yours is work, work while in Nigeria, most people are idle that's why you see the bickerings, tribalism and upsets.

I love wrestling, listening to melodious music by Enya, Dido, Celine Dion etc singing and reading books.
Yep petrol prices has gone up to £1.60ish per litre here. Even in America they are all complaining about the price (I think it’s $7 per gallon over there).

I guess the fact that you can occupy oneself with work here makes you feel better. Currently into afrobeat music, downloading a lot of Davido, Burnaboy, Olamide etc

A 5 year old is a minor and must be accompanied. My 16 year old son cannot travel alone and has to be accompanied by either or both of his parents. I doubt if any airline will accept a 5 year old ... Ask though. It might be possible.
Which airline is that? I travelled as a 16 year old when I was younger, all they need is a form from your parent. Even British airways would allow you to at the age of 14.

You can pay some airline fees for unaccompanied minor from the age of 5 - 14 years old.

Yes you can work without it, and claim back the taxes if they put you on BR. It’s just bizarre that it’s over 4 months. Reason why I said that is because due to this Covid restrictions nowadays, most things are done online and quicker. You don’t need to go and sit in an office and start explaining yourself. But anyways it would come through, just make sure you claim your taxes back, because am sure they would be taxing you a lot of BR.

A scammer don’t give a toss if you get your monies back or not. They want less security on your money. That way they can get your money and not have to answer back to you or anyone else.

Went out there to pick it up, the boys were acting weird, they didn’t want me to open the phone etc. they wanted to see the cash first. Took out the cash, they already open the phone before I came back.

I was like nope, I wanted to open the phone, anyways IMEI number was different from the box, they then wanted to reduced it to £500. Long story short - It was a fake Chinese version of the phone. I pretend that I was on the phone with my girlfriend, I drove off whilst they were chasing me.
CrimeRe: Andrew Nice Raped Me Inside A Bus, Says Victim, Presents Evidence by Ray7878: 12:41pm On Mar 19, 2022
WibusJaga:
huh

Well, there is enough evidence to convict & execute him in a Social Media Court, especially NL.
But you'll definitely need more evidence/witnesses in a Law Court.
The 3k transaction / torn dress alone doesn't prove there was rape; doesn't even prove there was an act of sex. The 3k only proves they had a financial transaction previously, while the torn dress could have been done by anybody.
People need to understand that cases in a Law Court are proven Beyond Reasonable Doubts.

As per the Bamise murder, the Police needs to investigate his
-call records
-bank transactions
-friends & associates
-his lifestyle (if within his income)
& few other interrogations to establish his extent of culpability in the murder. Shouldn't be that difficult.
Let him/solicitor try explaining why he sent someone he never knew before 3k. Let him and his solicitor try explaining why his DNA was on her clothing. Those 2 is enough to convict him. He is a bus driver!!! They sit in a designated area. What was the link for the financial transaction? Was he paying for something on the bus? I am willing to bet that more women would be willing to come forward now. The authorities need to encourage more women to come forward, he must have been using the BRT bus to rape a lot of women, since Nigeria is mostly a lawless country and a country that favours men mostly, a lot of these women cannot come out and speak, because the mentality is “Shameful” for her getting raped. So they stay silent.
