Good evening house....

I've paid for the visa fees and i've also booked for my appointment
i downloaded a checklist document, my question now is .....

1. Am i to fill the checklist after printing it out, so i can add it to my documents will going for my biometric

2. I saw somewhere that after uploading my documents on the TLS website that i will not need to take it to the TLS center anymore, how true is this please?
Check the last page of your checklist. If the bottom is like this screenshot then you need it, because they would ask you to sign it.

If you did self service, you won't need to go to TLS center with the checklist.
The checklist would be needed, they would need to sign the bottom of the page.

Pls can a family member In Uk assist find out update about one’s application through call to ukvi or it has to be only the applicant
Your family member can do it for you, as long as they have the details of the applicant etc GWF number, IHS number etc. It can be done via emailing UKVI or phone call.

Looks like the user applied during the UK lockdown.

To my knowledge, this is no longer the case as the UK has removed most of their public health advisory related to the COVID-19 pandemic including lockdowns for a while now.

@Giselle, @Amelia, @All active users and veterans, please help with reviewing my question.
You are spot on, no more restrictions in regards to arrivals into the UK (Re: Covid). You don’t need to do anything, just book your flights and head in.

I could have pasted my cover letter here but it is quite detailed ( I got tips from the group when applying)... I mentioned in the cover letter that my program ends April 2022. I highlighted the funds in my account and the fact that it was from hubby and family members. Which is evidenced in transaction details. I also stated that my brother was fully funding the trip, because he wanted me at his wedding ( which is true). I’m the only one out of 5 siblings not attending. Everyone is in the UK.
It’s quite painful ..,
Sis don’t be downbeat, I really feel your pain. To be the only sibling not to be there must be devastating. I kinda wish they could have asked you for more evidence if needed. But as Gizelle said it seems they were looking at how you have more ties to the UK rather than Nigeria, and they were afraid you could have choose not to return etc - I really empathise with you.

No matter what you do I hope your brother puts in a complaint, just to show how disappointed he is, so in future when you re-apply (For example if he had a child and he wanted you to be there for the christening etc) it would not be an issue.

Anyway goodluck for when you decide to reapply.

but the question on the application forms says very clearly have you been denied visa to any country and not have you neen denied visa to the UK.
Meaning here is your opportunity to show integrity and answer the question before we go fact finding.
So you choose to conceal your past refusal not because you forgot but because you wanted to play smart.

If/when they cross reference your details on other immigration systems they find out because you have submitted your biometrics ie finger prints and your details somewhere in the past and not just to the UK. Once again, you did not forget.. you chose to conceal information and should be ready to bear the brunt if/when the wind blows the wrong way.
My mate said the same thing. Declare anything and everything. They all share data, and the questions they ask is to see if you would lie or not.

Just because someone gets denied a visa in the past or in a different country doesn’t mean they would deny you in your recent application. They decide everything on its own merit. I think more people need to have a clean minded thinking when putting in applications.

No point in concealing..

Good day house
I chose the 'keep my passport option'...Had my application submitted since 1st of Feb in VI
Email was sent for the submission of my passport on 6/5/2022 and I did
How long does it to receive the collection mail?
I'm seriously tired as I need my passport back urgently for a work trip and that was the reason I chose this' keep my passport' option
obviously it was a terrible mistake
If I need to withdraw the passport, how long will it take?
At this point, I really don't care about the visa anymore, I just need my passport back

My advise to all,' keep my passport' option is a terrible decision
Have you contact them to find out if they have released your passport back to TLS? And a lot of people on here don’t have a good feedback in regards to “Keep my passport” option.

I’m not very sure but I think other non-settlement visas are being processed in the country where the applicant resides, that’s why Ukraine crisis doesn’t affect them.
Thanks didn’t really know that. That would make sense to be honest.

I made a mistake while filling my application for a standard visa, instead of 7mil yearly, I said 700,000. Even though I submitted both my personal and business accounts that confirm my declaration, my application was refused with the below letter. What can I do about this pls?
Thanks for the response
There is nothing you can do really with this application, you have no right of an appeal or administrative review.

Just reapply down the line and make sure you cover all the basis.

There is no need to rush any application in future. Good luck.

Please keep me updated, the anxiety I feel from waiting is too much, I keep refreshing my email every minute, I read somewhere that all applications made this year has been packed aside for the home office to fully concentrate on the Ukraine crisis, that’s why no spouse settlement applicant from January till date has come back to drop a feedback.
We have been doing the same thing, refreshing the tracker, emails etc my wife is beside herself. I really feel for her. I would definitely update people on here.

The Ukraine excuse is quite poor, they are still issuing work, tourist, visiting visas. But they expect people who pay over the odds to be split away from their love ones.

I have already made my complaints to the home office, they usually get back within 20 working days in regards to the complaint.

I don't really understand this issues of Ukraine excuse on this matter. At least they should have stop all the Visa process and face Ukraine problem by just collecting application and hanging people's mind on a life wire. Given people BP everyday. Hmmmmm May God help us.
I swear my BP has gone through the roof over the last 5 weeks, but we have both come to accept that it’s just patience that’s needed, and to get all the things that needs doing now before she arrives, she is trying to learn hair making, get her drivers licence, do the UK theory test driving lessons online etc. So that it’s easier for her to start her new life once she is here.

This wait is going to be long and exhausting. Regarding the other visa you were referring to, I think theirs is dependent visa while ours is spouse settlement visa, It isn’t the same.
Thanks for clarifying that, because my wife had a mate that paid under £400 on the same day that she went to do her biometrics. And that Lady got her visa within 3 weeks and she is now with her husband in the UK. They were comparing notes and were confused with the spouse visa different prices. I did explain to her that their might be “Dependent visa” rather than settlement.

I would keep on updating you to let you know how far we have got to. Our biometrics was done on the 28th of January at Ikeja, so we looking at the end of July for this to come out. She had to re-rent her place today as we speak for another 6 months.

So it’s just patience really.

@Ray7878 Have you heard anything from home office, I just saw on the website that the decision waiting time has been changed from 12 weeks to 24 weeks.
Yep they sent this to my wife on Tuesday grin she is going crazy right now. So another 2 and half months to wait for us. But as seen on here everyone have different spouse application, our one is settlement/marriage visa because I was born here etc And I have seen others who have applied (I think via healthcare workers) and pay a lot less than what we had to pay (Even though I work for the NHS too).

Hi guys,

Who has recently gotten their TB test done, could you please share the exert amount you paid in Naira?

Some said 57,800 another said 64,200. I am so unsure due to the unstable USD rate in Nigeria. Kindly share exert amount if you have recently paid for this test.

Thank you.
I would say pay the lower amount. They would accept your payments slip and you would still do your test. My wife paid 4k more than what she was meant to pay. She paid 58k in Oct 2021 when she did hers. And when she got there the next day they told her it was 54k. She couldn’t get the 4k back lol.

Oga forget all this stories, This lockdown you're talking about ended on February 2021 beause i went to UK twice within February to March here is a picture of the trips i went on February 06,2021 to February 20,2021 AND on March 28,2021 to April 8,2021 as proof because i know there are lots of doubting thomas here....You need to write a cover Letter to explain why you stayed for 5 month from December to May.
I go to UK every other months or so because my son is in Chelsea Foundation Academy U9.
Definitely hope he checks the timeline and do a cover letter. I just think it would be wise to have a back up just to ease any doubt with the ECO. Because am looking at the timeline now from the 19th of December 2020 up until March 2021 with some level of restrictions but not one where someone cannot travel out of the UK.

thank you I have a letter of permission sent to my mail by my employer replying to My request to extend my leave due to Nigeria being on the red flag of the UK and no flight was coming into or out of the UK to Nigeria and vice versa...it also addressed the fact that they understand I didn't intend to bring the virus over to Nigeria or to contact it in Nigeria....do they said they gave me till the middle of the year to resume back to work which is last year June...they also stated that I have used my 2021 annual leave like that....and that's it I didn't travel last year because I have used it...I will have another
leave ending of this year....
Perfect, use all evidence that you have to back up your application. Don’t let anyone tell you that staying 5 months isn’t a red flag (Doesn’t matter if you didn’t over stay the 6 months).

As suggested to you here by many, do your cover letter and state the reasons why you stated for 5 months rather than the 2 months that you planned to stay initially, and how you were able to take care of yourself financially etc.

You should definitely be fine with whatever length you choose to apply for (6 or 24 months). But DEFINITELY back your application up with reasons for staying longer than you planned last time out. Good luck mate.

Good morning. Thanks to everyone answering questions.

And hope I don't need evidence of proficiency in English because I never saw it anywhere when I was applying.

Please for my biometric capturing at TLS, do I need to come with the originals of all the documents that I uploaded? I'm applying for a spouse visa.

The photos I uploaded, do I still need to go there with them. Thank you
You only need your passport, photocopy of the database side of your passport and the tick documents letter to go with to TLS. Since you have uploaded all your supporting documents they wouldn’t need that from you at TLS.

Just make sure having the English IETLS or whatever it’s called isn’t on the list of your requirements.

Hello everyone
I am about to apply for dependent visas for my self and my 2 kids, to join my husband in the uk. Please I need help with getting an appointment with tls. How can I ensure that we get the same slot for our appointments and would I have to pay for the courier service 3 times? Considering that I have to get the appointments with 3 different applications.

Thank you
All applicants have to pay individually, they don’t really allow joint applications. You can use the same supporting documents for all the application though.

Hello fellows,
I attended biometrics on 23rd March at Ikeja TLS. However, up till now I'm yet to get mail from UKVI. Pls anyone who applied around the same period who hasn't gotten a response? I'm becoming more worried as this is the 7th week.
I think you need to fill in information of what you applied for (Work, student, visiting, tourist) etc when you asked questions like this, so that others who have a similar application to you can be able to reply. Not sure why people on here just ask blank questions, it makes it difficult for you to get a reply.

I love the fact that they did this, rather than do anything silly like refusing someone, call to clear any doubts that they may have. Goodluck to your mum.

Hello All, I’m planning on applying in June. I will like to ask if anyone has made payment for the fees from Nigeria and how they were able to? Also, I’ve read in previous post, that the amounts are shown in dollar and not pounds when making the payment. Please, what is the dollar equivalent for the IHS and Visa fee? on the portal? And how much is the extra charges added when paying. As I intend to change naira to dollars and put in my domicillary account, then transfer to the card account, once it transferred, I cannot transfer it back to my dollar account.
I will prefer a seamless way of paying with no issues.
Personal experience here, I made the payment for my wife’s app in the UK, but am sure there are others who knows about paying for it in Nigeria without any issues.

Yes the fees are in dollars not pounds, it’s rough $4700 which was around £3700 when we made the payment.

The application fee was 2125 dollars, the IHS was around 2612.13 dollars.

I have read cases of the HO telling an applicant about their application to be not straightforward and towards the end of that week the applicant gets a decision made on their application.

What i have been asking myself is could this mean our applications are being attended to but might take a while. so as to put them on the right side of things they act proactively to inform we the applicant so it doesnt seem like they are incompetent when the agreed waiting period is exceeded?
To be honest I really don’t know grin, they have the Ukraine thing as an excuse now. But we are still checking every other day to see if they have sorted it out. You pay almost £4000 to wait for like 4-6 months lol, it’s a joke to be honest.

Good day House,

I did my biometrics on the 24th of January for the Uk spouse Visa. I was told it was currently being prepared for consideration by an ECO on the 2nd of march and about 6 days ago 14th of April i was mailed about them refocusing their resources on the Ukrainians.

I dont know how long the wait is going to be but at the end of this wait i hope the outcome is what we have been praying for.

Cheers
My wife had her biometrics on the 28th of Jan in Lagos Ikeja. They send her this on Easter Monday gone. Why? Because this week would be her coming to the 60WD time, this is just about patience.

Not sure if they have even got through the ones from December yet, as no one has come back to update their post.

No one came out of this without fingers been pointed at them. The kids that were involved would need counselling, all of them.

The school needs to reflect on their SOP as this happened under their guidance, and parents needs to be on guard with their children. Don’t let their puppy eyes fool you. I don’t want to speak on individuals but maybe restricting their access with parental control on their devices?

But some of the things that the kids were doing!!! It looked like they have been learning that for a good number of years.

What is it am making up, the op had earlier made an appliation for an administrative review in regards to a refusal, got a positive response. And was asked to wait for next decision or that she/he would be contacted if the initial decision is overturned or upheld. So the administrative review is still on,, and perhaps her/his case is under consideration, that's what he/she is on about waiting for; which sometimes could go beyond 12weeks. But in your message, you says you are sure the issue is from TLS, hence I asked does TLS handle appeals/administrative reviews?
In the post I replied it was directed at the initial question regarding those who have been waiting on TLS in general, nothing to do with his/her admin review.

So I wasn’t sure why you were replying to me and quoting me in regards to TLS, as my post had nothing to do with admin review.
