There is no right or wrong answer to this. Some will agree that you are being crazy for not grabbing the sponsorship ‘opportunity’ with both hands, while some would argue that ‘at what cost’? From your tone, it seems you do not want to sacrifice your family for the fast track ILR. While I agree that not every opportunity is an opportunity, my advice for you would be to sit down with your other half and agree what’s best for your family.

If you could get 2 job offers at the same time now, you will certainly get another one with sponsorship close to home - sooner or later. See these 2 offers as your stepping stone - each has one advantage over the other - so the question you should ask yourself is which of the 2 do you want to take as a stepping stone to what you really want? England for a few months to start the ILR clock or Scotland for a few months to get UK work experience and boost your chances of getting one with sponsorship locally? Whatever decision you make is not crazy - they are both valid and sensible - you just need to decide based on what you believe is best for you and your family, given the circumstance.

PS: if you take the one without sponsorship and perform really well on the job and decide to leave after a few months due to sponsorship, chances are they will offer you the sponsorship to keep you. And if they don’t, it’s their loss!

Finally, you will receive advice from people based on their own circumstance and what matters to them. What you make of it, is entirely up to you.
This is one of the best post that I have read on here, it is a difficult decision, I really wouldn’t want to be in her shoes right now. But great response to her post.

Congrats, which TLS branch did you have your done? My wife had her biometrics done on the 28th of January for a settlement Visa, standard appt at Ikeja.

Told it would take 60 working days, but we email them today, had a no decision yet, and might take longer due to the Ukrainian applying for UK visa lol. My wife is inpatient.

But I have told her settlement visas takes longer than others.

They have made a decision. TLS haven't sent an email. Its way way past the expected date. I went to a UK post office (where they would normally have sent the BRP). The BRP has been sent. It means the visa has been granted. BUT the passport has not been returned. no email from tls.
Ok, brilliant so. I am guessing the application was meant for your spouse? From experience she/he would need to go to the TLS branch where she/he had her/his biometrics done.

As long as you have left 15 working days in between when they told you a decision was made.

So if a decision was made on the 15th of February then you need to wait for 15 working days to go to the TLS branch and ask them to look through their stuffs for the passport.

You would be lucky if you get an email from TLS or any changes on their tracking system. So I would say get your spouse to go to the TLS Branch. Am sure the passport is waiting there for them.

Naturalism is different from artificial lifestyle. There are norms in uk that are forbidden in corporate offices. Most of the physical outfit that shows non challance could rightly be well interpreted. Moreso, it depends on the kind of job she went for, perhaps morals and culture was important.
Naturalism would be us all walking around naked as God made us. So again that doesn’t really come into judging someone by their looks.

Artificial lifestyle is living doing something that isn’t natural to us as humans. And that can be interpreted in many ways.

Physical outfit is different from wearing accessories, my parents wear native clothing, they get laughed at on the streets back in the 80s, is that a natural thing to do? Nope it’s ignorance and lack of respect to others.

My an accessories as a leg bracelet triggers some then I feel sorry for us, there are more pressing issues than that.

But I agree with you though in regards to a dress code and the sort of job she would going for. Anyways great debate, whether we agree or disagree.

I work for an airline company outside Nigeria and the air hostesses do wear anklets,I have seen a few, fortunately wearing pantyhose under the uniform is mandatory so I guess most passengers would hardly notice but we work in the same buisness unit so I should know better cos u can still see shape of the anklet under the pantyhose, personally if I had my own company it wouldn’t mean a thing if u wore it to the interview as long as u got something between your ears,it’s not like u already got the job anyway however it would be clearly stated in the employment contract if it’s allowed or not, they could have politely told her that it’s not allowed in the corporate setting if she gets lucky to be employed, flouting the corporate dressing code after employment would be a different ball game,I would personally ask one of the hostesses if the anklet is actually allowed at work or they just been brave hearts but I’m sure they wouldn’t dare try it if it wasn’t because any flouting of corporate dress code at work is automatic dismissaI cos I use God beg you oga no dey their mata.

I have lost count of how many white/non African lady passengers I have seen with anklet(some with African like beads)I feel proud of Africa whenever I see them so it actually doesn’t define a lady but that’s my own personal opinion anyway.
Thank you, good to see different people with different experiences.

Ok, here's one for you to answer.

What is the work of a neck chain on the neck?
Or,
What is the work of a wrist chain on the wrist?

If wearing chains on the neck and wrist is normal, what makes it abnormal if worn on the leg?

Oh, one more...
What is the work of a waist chain on the waist?
Great question. People are just tribal lol that’s all. People follow whatever without thinking with their own minds. It’s what’s on paper that count, is she qualified enough for the role? Doesn’t she have the necessary qualifications? Does she have good references?

Not “Oh she’s wearing a nose, ear, neck ring” some people are just scared of what they don’t know.

Prince001:
Simple answer. Nigeria is 3rd world country that's why cos leg chain got nuttin to do with how someone will carry out his or her duties so far d chain does not in anyway dangerous to the profession!!!!!!!
I think this is more of the really reality. If my manager failed to employ someone based on them wearing a nose ring or earring and they employ someone else who didn’t perform then they themselves would lose their job.

I am all for turning up for an interview properly dressed, accessories like that doesn’t determine how qualified someone is or how suitable they would be for a role. I think we still live in the dark ages lol.

For real, heinous crimes are committed by gentle faced persons but honestly experiences has taught me that some looks reports that you have been bad or still bad.
I like the way you debate without childish name calling, so kudos, I don’t see that enough on here.

Maybe it’s because I was born and bred in the UK maybe that’s why my views are different but as far as my experience I can tell you that the worst people I have come across are the ones who use religion as their front. I have never judge anyone based on their appearance.

Someone’s mind and approach is the real things that I look at for. It’s like growing up in the UK as a black African man and being judge because of the colour of your skin. That’s what a lot of west Africans don’t realise. They judge you by your looks, not by your heart, which is really sad and ignorant to be honest.

Personally I don’t care how you look, you can dress however you like, as long as your heart is of gold. I am 43 years old now and have come across people from different walk of life, it just saddens me when I see my own people judging themselves based on appearance, it just reminds me of growing up in the UK with my African parents and being called racists names whilst walking down the street just because they have black skin.

But each to their own, if people think appearance is how God judges us then i don’t know what to say to those people.

Honestly you are wrong, a bad person has fruits, they may not be mad at you because you have not touched their sensitive part.

Although some adopt such appearance due to environmental influence and moreso due to some past unfavorable experiences.

Your heart influences you looks.

Our appearances are the boldest expression of our thoughts, heart and lifestyle.
Nope am absolutely right, appearance doesn’t determine your thought lol, that’s a whole lot of rubbish.

Our heart determines our thought, the way you dress is irrelevant. I don’t judge people by their looks. They can wear whatever they feel like, the way they behave towards their fellow humans is what I am more after.

The expression don’t just a book by its cover comes to mind, I would take a person who has tattoos, earrings and does charity to help the homeless, help battered women or kids over someone who claimed to be deeply religious but scamming and killing people in secret.

The most dangerous people are the one who hides.

LOL

Leg chain is something I wear occasionally and the last time I checked I dont think I can be considered the worst of human beings currently on earth.

The problem with Nigeria is that we are too religious yet very wicked at heart and to our fellow human beings .

Munzy dear dont worry I wont wear leg chain to your house I will only wear jigida. grin cheesy
Yep we judge people based on appearance but we are worse at heart. I couldn’t care less if someone has a nose ring, 4 earrings on. I am more concerned about their heart, attitude more than their appearance.

Hello everyone, can student dependant travel in and out of UK anytime without restrictions.
Of course you can. As long as you have a valid visa to whichever country you are going to, and your UK visa as a student is valid then why not? Just be aware that you should not be travelling whilst you are meant to be in class studying, because you can be questioned by UK immigration if they stop you, the validity of you being a genuine student would be questioned.

Pray they will answer me this week.
When you get referred to the consultant at the hospital then you would probably be placed on a waiting list. The average time is usually depending on the area that you live in, if it’s in London where the population is quite high then you are looking at 3 - 6 months average waiting for the X-ray.

You would probably be buying painkillers like Co-codamol or get your GP to prescribed Naproxen, Tradamol, gabapentin/pregabalin etc in the main time to manage the pain, these pain relief also depends on you not taking any blood pressure medications.
