INTRODUCTION

There's an old saying about there being no such thing as a bad camera, only a bad photographer. With that being said, photography is now easier than it was fifty years ago. The rise of digital cameras in smartphones as well subsequent advancements have levelled the playing field for all and sundry. Do you need a good photo? The days of heading to the studio are over. With a fairly good sensor on your smartphone, you can now take amazing photos of anything and anyone.
This is by no means an exhaustive guide, the author only aims to give the reader a foundation on which to build on.

BASIC TERMS (FAMILIARIZATION COURSE)

EXPOSURE
When we talk about “exposure,” we simply mean the brightness or darkness of a photo. It seems simple enough to take a photo that is correctly exposed (has the proper brightness or darkness), but in reality, it can be quite tricky. Exposure uses Aperture, Shutter speed, and ISO in conjunction to create a properly exposed image.

WHAT IS APERTURE?
Simply put, Aperture is the hole within your lens, through which light travels into the camera body.

WHAT IS ISO?
In very basic terms, ISO is the level of sensitivity of your camera to available light. The lower the ISO number, the less sensitive it is to the light, while a higher ISO number increases the sensitivity of your camera.

WHAT IS SHUTTER SPEED?
Shutter speed, also known as “exposure time”, stands for the length of time a camera shutter is open to expose light into the camera sensor. If the shutter speed is fast, it can help to freeze action completely. If the shutter speed is slow, it can create an effect called “motion blur”, where moving objects appear blurred along the direction of the motion which you can also see in the below photo.

WHAT IS WHITE BALANCE?
As the name suggests, white balance balances the color temperature in your image. How does it do this? It adds the opposite color to the image in an attempt to bring the color temperature back to neutral. Instead of whites appearing red or yellow, they should appear white after correctly white balancing an image.

PHOTOGRAPHY COMPOSITION
So, “composition” describes placement of relative objects and elements in an image. Consequently, the composition is a key aspect of great photography. There is hardly a way to overemphasize the importance of composition. Any aspiring artist ought to give the composition of his work a lot of attention.

HIGH DYNAMIC RANGE (HDR)
Digital cameras often have dynamic range problems. If the scene has a lot of bright light and dark shadows (a common problem on sunny days), either one part of the image will be too bright or another part will be too dark. A high dynamic range (HDR) mode helps fix this problem by sampling the light in multiple exposures and creating a composite photo. You can turn this feature on or off; the app gives you no other options.

SATURATION
This is the amount of colour you have in your photos or how colourful your photos look. One should aspire to be as artistic or purposeful with his/her saturation. Oversaturating your photos with colour makes them look cartoonish or like a caricature and is never a good idea.

SUBJECT
This is the main object in your photo. It should be the focus of the shot. Unless you are shooting a landscape photo, ensure that you have a subject that you are trying to picture. The subject is also called the ‘Foreground’.

Background
Besides the subject of your photo, everything else should be in the background. The background is the back drop of your photo.
pls how do you achieve a black background using snapseed?

Where is shell in akwa ibom?
While ExxonMobil is the major oil company operating in Aks,we have other oil companies drilling in Aks.

Odudu Field located in Aks waters is operated by Total.

Ebok ,okwok fields located offshore around Ibaka in Mbo local government area is operated by Oriental energy owned by the Indimis.

Antan field located 70km south off Calabar town is located in Aks and is operated by Addax a subsidiary of sinopec.

There are other smaller companies running marginal fields in Akwa Ibom such as Frontier,Universal and Network Energies, these companies drill but sells their crude through ExxonMobil.

PoliticsFAAC Shares ₦780.926bn For March 2020 by Rayd502(op): 3:34am On Apr 23, 2020
In the next few working days, civil servants will be paid their April 2020 salaries.

This is because the Federation Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC) has shared a total of ₦780.926 billion as March 2020 Federation Account Revenue.

The Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) disclosed in Abuja that the Federal, States, Local Governments and relevant Agencies in the country shared ₦780.926 billion as at the end of the FAAC meeting.

According to the statement: “The N780.926 billion comprised Statutory Revenue, Value Added Tax (VAT), and Exchange Gain.”

It was also disclosed the balance in the Excess Crude Account (ECA) grew a little to $72.221 million.

The gross statutory revenue for the month of March 2020 was put at ₦597.676 billion.

This was higher than the ₦466.058 billion received in February 2020 by ₦131.618 billion.

Value Added Tax (VAT) yielded gross revenue of ₦120.268 billion in March 2020 as against ₦99.552 billion in February 2020, resulting in an increase of ₦20.716 billion.

A total of ₦62.928 billion was available from Exchange Gain in the month under review.

The OAGF noted: “The Statement of Accounts indicated that from the total revenue of ₦780.926 billion, the Federal Government received ₦264.330 billion.”

Continuing, the Office said: “The State Governments received ₦181.487 billion, and the Local Government Councils received ₦135.950 billion.

“The Oil Producing States received ₦38.751 billion as 13% derivation revenue while the cost of revenue collection by Revenue Agencies and allocation to North-East Development Commission (NEDC) was ₦160.408 billion.”

According to the Statement of Accounts, the Federal Government received ₦217.773 billion from the gross statutory revenue of ₦597.676 billion.

The State Governments received ₦110.457 billion and the Local Government Councils received ₦85.158 billion.

The sum of ₦32.299 billion was given to the relevant States as 13% derivation revenue and ₦151.989 billion was cost of revenue collection by Revenue Agencies and allocation to NEDC.

The Federal Government received ₦16.777 billion from the Value Added Tax (VAT) revenue of ₦120.268 billion available in the month of March 2020. The State Governments received ₦55.925 billion, the Local Government Councils received ₦39.147 billion, while the cost of collection by Revenue Agencies and allocation to NEDC was ₦8.419 billion.

The Statement confirmed that the Federal Government received ₦29.780 billion, the State Governments received ₦15.105 billion, the Local Government Councils received ₦11.645 billion and the Oil Producing States received ₦6.452 billion from the total revenue of ₦62.982 billion available from Exchange Gain.

It was also revealed that in the month of March 2020, Petroleum Profit Tax (PPT), Companies Income Tax (CIT), Import and Excise Duties, Oil and Gas Royalties and Value Added Tax (VAT) all recorded substantial increases which resulted in the large volume of money shared.

The monthly Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) meeting for the month of April 2020, where the sharing of the March 2020 revenues was discussed, was held through virtual conferencing.

Members of the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) could not meet in Abuja due to the lockdown in the country occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic.
