Oshodi to CMS via BRT is now N800 one way. Return is N1600. Considering that the commuter may still have to take a "Last Mile transport to and fro, that puts the daily cost of transportation above the N2000 mark. If the person in question commutes to work 5 days a week, that's over N10,000.00. In 4 weeks of the month, they'll be spending over 40,000.00. This doesn't include feeding and clothing or medicare. So how much is minimum wage again?

When you hear Ebi kpa mi ooo, e get why.

I realize that Nigerians enjoy the stress of spending money and making bus drivers richer because they like to be greeted morning and evening when returning from work. They will rather do a 100k work 3km far away than an 80k half kilometer.

You sound like a closeted demon.

A father is trying to guarantee a BETTER future for his kid and the only thing that crosses your mind is that he'd manipulate the kid against you?

Is that what you've been doing since the divorce?

You disgust me.

ALSO, the kid is still a MINOR. If you don't sign a consent form that states the kid is going to the European country to reunite with his father, what other explanation would you give for a 10-year old traveling across the ocean?

Realize this:

This is the best advise you could get here, wh

If you stop that kid from getting the citizenship of a country that works because of your own fear and insecurity, the kid will HATE you with an hatred that burns like a thousand suns when he becomes an adult.

This is the best advise you could get here, whoever told you that you shouldn't release the child is not helping you, you need to think out of the box, your child wasn't the cause of your failed marriage, so you shouldn't block any offer that comes His way

Career / Re: Coping After A Major Setback by Raydave: 3:47pm On Nov 30, 2023
[quote author=idtiwo post=127244606]Hmmm, let me give you my story to encourage you. I finished school in 2003, got a good job in one of the telecom firms, worked hard, did my masters, got married and saved lots of money sufficient to start a business. Then in 2008, I felt i wasnt fulfiled with paid employment again.Dangote was always my role model, so I resigned and decided to go into business. I went into a good business, did well for few months and along the way, a staff connived with my supplier in a state in nigeria ,my capital vanished overnight and the rest is history.

By 2009, i was back to ground zero and every attempt I made to revive myself in business failed and full time HARDSHIP set into my life (probably like what you are facing now). To make matter worse, my wife who was a youth corper when i married her just had my first baby around this time . So the baby arrival, wife not working and myself not working againg made matter worse. We were practically living from hands to mouth. It was a hell but that was the beginning of my hell. By mid 2010, my wife had to go take a teaching job in a nusery school near our house in lagos then with a baby of less than one year at hand. The salary was 10K and that was the only money coming into the family.

When depression was knocking at my door, one day, i left the house and worked kilometers away from home with no destination in mind. I was just going, weeping inward and praying in ward for God to show me mercy for the sake of my new baby. Then, all of a sudden, having worked kilometers, i saw a shop where they were selling phone accessories and i walked in. I told the young guy there (younger than me by years), i told him i would want help him to be marketing his accessories daily around the neighbouhood and he would be paying me commission on every sales I make per day.

The young man looked at me and asked if he could trust me and i assured him that i wont dissapear him. I was speaking good english and I think the guy just feel in love with me. So, he asked me to start that day.He didnt know me, no guarantor, no application, nothing whatsoever. He just trusted me .He gave me 3 pieces of charger, phone batteries, MP3 charger, power bank etc and i left his shop. I started moving from streets to streets and anybody i saw on the road, i would be marketing to them to buy charger, power bank etc. I would add a little mark to the price the guy gave me.
By 6pm, I would return to his shop and hand over my sales to him and return the unsold goods and he would pay me commission on what i sold and i would go home with about N700 or N800 commission and that would be our diner money for that day. It was a tough season that i never prayed for my enemy to go though. This was what i did from 2010 to 2013.

While i was doing this mobile sales job, I was applying for jobs daily with my 2.1 first degree certificate and my masters degree (I thank God i was smart enoughto do my masters when I was working in the telecom firm). I applied for uncountable number of vacancies but never got a job.

Fast forward to 2014,I was owing 2 years house rent and my landlord gave a quit notice to pack out. At that stage, God Almighty had mercy on me and one of the aptitude test i did came back with an invitation for interview. The challenge was that the interview was going to be in Abuja. I borrowed 5k from a friend to enter night bus to get to Abuja to attend the interview and behold God gave me the job. The starting salary was 560k (an international NGO) . From there, my story changed. That was how i relocated to Abuja and God saved me from landlord eviction embarrasment. Today, i work with a global organisation with multipe 6 digits fat salary, got houses of my own and other great achievements of life BUT with all that, I can never forget the years 2009 - 2014. Those were the darkest years of my life. I SUFFERED.

Op, i have been there before and i can relate with you that its a terrible place to be for a man. If you are not married, its still better for you. All you need to do is to start anything that you hands find to do,even it its labourer, please do it. Dont ever stay at home thinking because your problems will just be compounded. While doing anything you can lay your hands to do, please keep applying for jobs daily in hundreds and one day, I mean one day, the Good Lord will open that door for you and your life will never be the same again. Its a season and it will soon pass over. Wishing all the best.

Please, when you eventually get that God's favour and your story changes, kindly share the testimony here to motivate other. Aurevoir

Omoo this your story really met me at the right time....Ain't gonna relent with my Hustling Spirit ๐Ÿ’ฏ

Sports / Re: At Your Age'' Do You Understand How Cricket And Rugby Works... by Raydave: 2:07pm On Oct 31, 2023
Evestar200:
They are running to cross their opponent's goal line to drop the ball and score points.

During that process you see the defending team trying to get the ball from the team with the ball and it becomes physical because once your opponent crosses your goalline they already get 5 points and once that the same player drops the ball to the ground in the opponent goal line he is awarded a try which is 2 points.

So a team can score 7 points each time they cross an opponent's goal line. The team with the highest points wins the game.

While a normal Rugby game is 40 minutes each half, Rugby sevens which consist of 7 players is 7 minutes each.

Don't worry, Rugby Sevens Olympic qualifiers tournament is this month and Nigeria will partake in it. Once you watch it you will understand it. Rugby is easy to understand, the one am still trying to understand is cricket.
Playing bet on it, is it advisable?? All eyes on football and basketball alone for punters
