Workch: I'm telling you the truth. Southsouth is the most scammed in this country and you know it.
There's nothing that is a lie here. Most of the revenue this country generates comes from your region. Most of these money ends up in the North for infrastructure. Your people are ravaging in penury, go to the creeks. The poverty level is high and too high for oil producing regions. You get scammed every now and then, even my own state get a piece of your resources in allocation.
By the time the oil reserves are finished and then the north has realized that you are now useless to them, you or your children will understand what I am talking about.
So you better focus on rescuing the children in southsouth, because by the time oil is exhausted there, you will be worthless to the north and will be discarded like a piece of shit. There will be nothing to hold on to anymore.
I'm seeing the future and it's inevitable unless you do something about it
Most of the revenue from oil sales actually goes to the South South. The South South region is just incredibly corrupt, and plagued with inept leadership.
Kingsbuchi: Chief Edu the Twitter mad man, I will soon post your full name, address, phone number and picture so people will see the cursed fellow... You are dark in complexion with little dreadlocks..just know that I know you well to your family
Just report his videos; this guys has been trolling this thread for the past 10 years. He'll just make a new username if he gets banned.
Abufo: Ndi oka mma na ama! That Pastor Amanchukwu is typical of Igbo man in yankee.......they will not lift a finger to help those agitating to restore a modicum of dignity to Ndigbo in Nigeria but they will not hesitate to talk down on African Americans........who used boycotts ,imprisonment, sit at homes to get the precious rights they enjoy in America today................tommorrow when IPOB agitation results in say State police and fiscal autonomy.....our near useless politicians will be the first to take credit for it! I may not support a two week sit at home but I definitely believe in the monday sit at home! Our people must embrace selfless sacrifice!
IPOB are Igbo men; your statement is self-contradictory. Unless you're putting this pastor in the same mould as politicians.
One sad thing about the nature of Nigerians is the ingrained belief that they know everything! Nothing in this world is outside the knowledge of an average Nigerian! Even if he lived his entire life in the village, he would tell you what South Africans eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! Their total disdain for research on a topic in order to speak facts is regrettable!
I believe it all starts from the nature of things in Nigeria where people ignorantly speak with audacity, and make false claims without being held accountable for the harm they caused. For instance, you hear quack chemists claim to be pharmacists and medical specialists, thus prescribing that taking rat poison would kill the cancer cells in the human body! You hear native doctors become very rich out of the claim that they have the power to make people disappear and become immune to bullets. Yet, they cannot disappear from kidnappers and are scared of being shot by them that they remain in captivity until the kidnapper's ransom is paid!
It is the same spirit of just opening one's mouth to thoughtlessly speak and make claims to the knowledge they do not possess that has driven this Pastor into making the types of claims about knowing what black americans need or do not need. It is a common shameful practice especially among Nigerians to ALWAYS claim KNOWLEDGE on what they won't even have the decency to research about. What Fela would call "babanla nonsense!
Why are you talking about yourself in the third person, are you not Nigerian? Anyway, the man is entitled to his opinion, as a constitutional right as an American. He has his views, Godfrey (who is also Igbo-American, with his own YouTube channel) has his views, which are contrary to this guy.
Besides, I'm pretty sure the pastor has a Black American wife, and 3 half-Black American children. So I think that qualifies him to speak on issues that affect his community; as he is a part of the Black American community in America.
Miravik900: Why do you support tinubu when you can see he’s another buhari, do you know the exchange of a naira to dollar currently or you no day 9ja? Fuel price nko? I’m a Naija deltan I no like obi same as tinubu they are just packaged thief’s
I regret being born in this cursed continent called Africa
Peter Obi isn't a thief. This isn't some cryptic mystery. It's very easy to elect good leaders. It's simply a matter of, a country getting a leaders it deserves. There's too much hate in Nigeria, that's why a man like Tinubu can literally steal an election, and people will support him.
If a politician attempted that in the UK, he'd be arrested and possibly tried for treason. In Nigeria, people interject "tribe" into absolutely everything. Why did you refer to Obi as a thief, even though his track record says otherwise?
swaggerjack: Nigeria has the most evil, wicked and occultic leaders known to mankind. They tell Nigerians to consider using bicycles while they move around in the most expensive luxury convoys in the world.
Didn't millions of Nigerians go out and vote those leaders into power? Those same supporters, spend day and night, on this very website defending the very same leader(s) you speak of.
Cooly100: When you tell them the military will cut all these wastes, majority of the people who wants to gain from these failed democracy will tell you that the worse democracy is better than the best military rule.
How?
The best lingering infrastructures in Nigeria was built by the military...
The third main land bridge, the federal high ways, National Theatre, FCT Abuja, etc...
The civilians are not even able to repair the roads built by the military..
Lagos - Ibadan roads and Enugu - Onithsa road have been in repairs since 1999.
The money consumed by these large government agencies are extra ordinary.
Democracy is too expensive for African countries...
A better form of government should be introduced to cut expense..and same goes to the 36 states...
When the military stepped down in 1998, Nigeria had a GDP less than half the size of Lagos today, it also had a poverty rate in the 90 percentile. The entire middle class was non-existent. There were only the rich (a tiny minority) and the poor.
Yes, your politicians are corrupt, but guess what? All politicians, the world over are corrupt. Let the courts do their job, and they will slowly whittle it out, or at least lower it; and it starts with the recently held elections. Nigeria's legal system has the opportunity to set a precedence, to do something no other African nation has ever done.
Development is a slow painstaking process. Instead of focussing on the micro issues, focus your attention on the biggest picture...YOUR PRESIDENT.
Quintessence44: They are traitors, and their behaviour makes an Igbo presidency virtually impossible.
Honestly, if I had the chance I would have prevented Obi from being president, even if he had won, cos I don't trust him to not break up the country.
This is a fool who refuses to criticize IPOB secessionists!
Why should he be trusted with power?
Do people think the powers of a Nigerian president are a joke?
The idiot could get into power and deliberately instigate actions and policies that would lead to a break-up of the country.
You don't want Nigeria to break up or you don't want Igbo people to leave Nigeria?
You're position is oxymoronic.
How can you proclaim that an Igbo man cannot or should not be president, while at the same time, speak vehemently against succession, when it's that very attitude (that you possess), that's fuelling the secessionist movement.
If you don't want IPOB to cease to exist, then TREAT EVERYONE EQUALLY. Is it that difficult to understand?
muykem: Peter Obi and other Igbo political leaders are opportunist. They are afraid of criticizing IPOB.
Peter Obi is not a criminal, anyone who criticise IPOB is a fascist, that doesn't believe in the rule of law, but kidnappings and illegal renditions of its citizens.
saintrow1: well play, as a Yoruba person I have no problem with this, other states can do whatever they like. the entire Yorubaland should adopt Yoruba as the official language. in Nigeria, we are not one and we will never be 1, Nigeria is just a name of a union.
Then just end the union. What good will come from people who hate each other, living together?
Skyfornia: Totally in support of this..it should even be made the first official language in the state. Other tribes and states should emulate it so that those prodigal sons and daughters who don't speak indigenous language won't have any business in government.
If that's how you feel, why do you even want Nigeria to exist?
Razgas: A referendum for Igbo to secede will pass. It's just like during the NCNC days with southern Cameroon. It became obvious that nothing the eastern region did was going to change their mind. However, while we hope that an independent igboland will be good, the reality involves work and reasoning that I haven't seen so far in us as a people. Building 21st century cities and growing an economy is different from agitation. Most southern Cameroonians I have met (and I have met many) regret leaving Nigeria.
Every ethnic nation within Nigeria would do better as its own independent nation. How exactly has Igbo people benefited from being in Nigeria? A country where they experience heavy discrimination? You're reasoning sounds illogical.
LOVEALAIGBO: The man is pure evil, but even i will thank him if even its just 'your 5 landlocked south-east states' that leave! A lot of arrogant 'one Nigerianists' are too smug in their arrogance and assume too much! They will be shocked....all we want is for them to, out of hate, set the ball rolling and the rest will follow!
Exactly, Igbo people are the glue that binds Nigeria together. Without Igbo folks, most ethnic nations within Nigeria would rather go it alone - I think they'd have far more success that way. A Nigeria devoid of Igbo people would just be another Benin or Niger Republic with 100+ million poor people.
Moreover, this evilness tends to be a general Nigerian issue. Too much wickedness and too much wicked people in Nigeria.
Buddha3: I'm not disputing the lack of balance, equality and fairness that has been made manifest between the three major tribes since 1999. I am one of the very proponents for an Igbo Presidency, though I'm from the South South. And a lot my people share the same sentiments.
I'm simply telling you the bare facts as regards the reality on ground. The South East is the only region that is landlocked all round, without any boundaries leading out of the country. There's no way you'll seperate the Igbo states for them to have their sovereignty without having to attach at least one South South state to them. And the possibility of any Niger Delta state joining the Igbos in Biafra is bluntly non-existent as of now.
The South East is not landlocked, as it has access to the sea via several rivers that flow through Abia, Imo & Anambra state. A landlocked nation, is one that is completely surrounded by land, and thus, has no way of accessing the sea - which isn't the case with the South East.
But that's beside the point, an Igbo nation would technically exist within Nigeria, which shouldn't be a problem, as it isn't a problem in South Africa, with Eswatini (formally Swaziland).
And there in lies the issue. Igbo people exist within Nigeria, but Nigeria doesn't want to give Igbo folks equality, and when the issue of separation is brought up, the same problems persist. It's, you have a nation, but we'll prevent you from accessing the sea or it's, you exist in Nigeria, and we'll prevent you from gaining people - totally irrational.
Buddha3: Asari Dokubo is an illiterate and often speaks like one.
Any intelligent person who studies the map of Nigeria will realise that you cannot consider the separation of Igbos without balkanizing the country's geographical setting in the Southern region. Only way the Igbos can easily secede is if they're joined by States in the South South. And we all know that's literally impossible.
So make una rest!
Nigeria would be balkanised regardless, and with the way things are going, there's simply no way to keep Nigeria intact. Either you have equality, where all peoples are treated equally and carried along as such, or you have what you currently have in Nigeria. Which is, everyone against Igbo people, while at the same time, trying to force them to stay in the country.
Is it by force to stay in a failed country. We don't want. 95% of igbos does not want to be Nigerian. Let them go...the SE and other SS Igbos, North Central igbos that wants to join them...let them go. If their Cross River/Akwaibom Brothers and sisters wants to join them, let them go.
I am not a fan of Asari but their is sense in this his stupidity.
He's only interested in doing harm to Igbo people. His call for succession, is so Nigeria can suffocate Igbo people economically, not so everyone can live together peacefully.
beejaay: as much as i dont like tinubu. i love his appointment so far as par service chiefs...whatever buhari did to destroy the country unity, Tinubu will do it unite the south eventually..the powerful north is getting over slowly and surely, all thanks to buhari
The only way Tinubu can unite Nigeria is by stepping down, voluntarily. Outside of that, the longer he remains in office, the more fractured the nation becomes. I mean, Nigerians as a whole, doesn't even have valid grounds to expect loyalty and patriotism from all its population.
adekolaelect: why are you crying over Tinubus appointment when You Igbos voted in Nepotism? Oga wait till you regain your presumed mandate before you start yours . You are complaining of Tinubus appointment but failed to complain over Dominant of igbos tribe in LP leaderships.
Labour Party is the only real party in Nigeria. All these other parties are tribal, nepotistic or corrupt. But you don't care about that, all you care about is the fact that a Yoruba man is in the no. 1 seat, whether it benefits your life or not.
I don't know if you live in Nigeria, but in time (assuming Tinubu remains in that seat), you'll pack your bags and flee to a proper country. A country where people have a progressive mindset. Where they prioritise the prosperity of their nation above all. In Nigeria, the only thing you care about are token gestures.
FreeStuffsNG: E lo fokan bale. Awa loan and Nigeria will get the best. This govt will not sacrifice competence for tribalism.
The Head of Customs did not return $8m because he is Yoruba, he did so because he has the best of Nigeria at heart. Same thing every Nigerian should do.
It's just a coincidence that the best the President has to choose in some sectors are Yoruba and the huge population of the Yoruba is a factor as well. I am sure they will work with other Nigerians to serve us all as Nigerians
Why are you people so tribalistic, is it a cultural thing or something? I don't see how you can support something when it benefits you, even if it ultimately ends up destroying the country.
Coolsat: I'm a northerner but what were you expecting? Should his appointment be filled with easterners who boldly showed their dislike for him? Enough, nepotism has been part of the system. Even Obi has no northerner in his campaign team.
Datti is from the North. Obi has the most diverse team of any political candidate.
SmartPolician: We accept a lot of NONSENSE in this country. People do things and get away with it because wrongdoings have no consequences!
If things continue like this for the next twenty years, we may not have a country to hand over to the next generation.
It's the mentality of the Nigerian people, I mean, just look at peoples response to the elections. They're saying, they should just leave it, and wait to the next elections. Nigerians need to get serious about their future, because with the way things are going, it's going to get rather bleak.
Angelfrost: Good luck Jonathan was not unseated sir!
He lost an election fair and square!
I'm talking about a sitting President being sacked by the Courts! Never in Nigeria!
If it's found that he didn't win the elections, then he's NOT the president. So it wouldn't be a sacking of a sitting president. A sacking would be an impeachment.
richie240: He may as well release all d criminals in all d prisons in nigeria then. Remember they too have ppl that look up to them.
At least what is good for the goose is good for the gander.
1. What message will such action send to d other terrorists -simon ekpa, ipob, boko haram etc: "continue in ur wickedness, once u are caught ur ppl will make noise, and bcus Tinubu will not want to 'stress himself' he will release u."
2. It will be travesty of justice to release a terrorist responsible for the deaths of Nigerians whilst a yam thief is incarcerated
Let's let sleeping dogs lie. DSS arrested him, not Tinubu. Let them (DSS) prosecute him/release him. I blv Tinubu is wise enuff not to interfere in matters dt doesn't concern him.
Isn't the same government giving amnesty to Boko Haram terrorists that surrender? The same terrorists responsible for the deaths of thousands and the displacement of millions. So Nnamdi Kanu talking on a radio is worse than someone kidnapping your mother and killing your father?
dominique: My friend from Warri told me told me this much. Up to five different factions will be on the companies' neck demanding for their share of the levies. By the time the companies are heaving a sigh of relief that they have seen the last of them, another set will emerge and make more demands. As the fathers are demanding for money, the sons are stealing equipments belonging to these companies, destroying their sites and demanding for their own. Now all the companies have left their land for them and unemployment is now the order of the day. This is what greed and lack of foresight does to people.
It's backwardness. Africans adopt a European economic system, but they lack the "culture" to complement it.
Reflect7: SO LONG AS YOU HAVE THAT ATTITUDE, YOUR PEOPLE WILL NEVER LEAD NIGERIA.
AND YOU ARE FREE TO SECEDE WITH YOUR 5 IGBO STATES ALONE.
IF YOU TRY TO ANNEX NON-IGBO TERRITORY LIKE IN 1967, YOU WILL BE SLAUGHTERED AND ANNIHILATED.
AND YOU WILL NOT BE MISSED.
SPIT.
Igboland extends into those other states around it. So rightly, it should simply be Igboland. Which would include Delta Igbos, Cross River Igbos, Rivers Igbos, Edo Igbos, etc... As long as it's Igboland; then it's fine. No one wants to create another multi-ethnic nation out of an already dysfunctional one.
As far as slaughtering and annihilating people is concerned. I don't think that'll be happening. Not ever. It already happened once. No apologies or reparations were paid, instead we get people boasting about committing genocide and threatening to do it again.
It's that kind of evil thought process, why Nigerian's can't come together and form a real nation. How anyone could even conceive of wanting to slaughter 40 million people, let alone their own countrymen is insanity to me.
You IPOBs are only greedy to steal Nigerian oil and gas resources.
THAT IS ALL YOU CARE ABOUT, AND IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN IN A MILLION YEARS.
SO KEEP HATING NIGERIA.
WORTHLESS.
The bulk of Nigeria's gas resources is within those 5 Igbo states. The other SS states have oil, but the market price for oil will inevitably crash in 2030, as most Western nations will have banned the sale and importation of petrol-powered vehicles. So in reality, it's much the other way round. Gas and Lithium are set to become the two most important sources of energy. Igboland has Gas and the North has Lithium.
omohayek: You're utterly delusional. I've been to Japan and many other Asian countries, and while the Igbos there are more visible than Yoruba visitors like myself, that's because those Igbos are usually engaged in disreputable activities like operating stalls selling dodgy SIM cards, buying second-hand clothes to ship home in "containers", running nightclubs which are fronts for drug operations, etc., while the smaller number of Yorubas in Asia are much more likely to be students or legitimate tourists, who don't draw attention to themselves by constantly being paraded in front of TV cameras by policemen.
Let's get real: it is economic desperation which drives your people to go to places like India, Thailand, Malaysia and so on, where your kinsmen so often get into trouble with the law. Why should we sink to your depths when we have other avenues available to us, such as Australia, the UK, the USA and Canada, all of which have more Yoruba immigrants than Igbos? Every single time I've been to an Asian country, I've gone on a business-class ticket and stayed in 5-star hotels, not once encountering anyone Igbo in similar circumstances. On the other hand, when I pass your kinfolk in places like Roppongi in Tokyo, standing outside dodgy bars trying to pull the natives in by force, all I feel is second-hand embarrassment for them, as the Japanese can (and do) draw a clear difference between visitors like myself making our way to Roppongi Hills, and bottom-dwelling Igbo illegals operating at the lowest rungs of their adult-industry. Having larger numbers of visible immigrants in such circumstances is something to be ashamed of, not a source of pride.
Better to stay at home and earn a meager living than to "japa" only to bring shame on one's family by engaging in criminality. Even better still is to only "japa" to first-world countries where one can both make a good living and live an honest life as an upstanding citizen.
No, there are simply more Igbo people in those places, that's all.
It's NOT economic desperation; the reason Igbo people go to those places, is because we're INDUSTRIOUS, whereas Yoruba people are not. Yoruba's go seeking a JOB or career. Igbo people go seeking business opportunities. Many of those individuals, use factories in Asia to manufacture goods which they sell in Nigeria. You wouldn't know anything about that, as business is not in your blood.
Of course, if all you're looking for is a 9-5, then by all means, Australia, Canada, etc are the better option. But if you want to establish your own business empire, then it gets more complex. Many Igbo businessmen have ties in Asia.
LeoDeKing: Which one is per capita again? They are talking of poor people per area you are talking about per capita just to continue deceiving yourself.
Why not apply same per capita to calculate for the whole of Nigeria?
You can go hide behind per capita to continue deceiving yourself.
The SE is the most densely populated region in Nigeria, so naturally, it'd have more poor people per square mile. That's just common sense.
If you have 10 million people living in London, with a poverty rate of 10% and 10 million people living in the Netherlands with a poverty rate of 10%. Guess what...London would have a higher poverty rate per square mile, even though both places have the same amount of poor.
That statistic is totally pointless. It doesn't prove anything, outside of showing that SE is the most urbanised part of the country.
Please provide verifiable data to support your assertions if you have them.
He said "well-travelled", referring to all countries of this world, not just USA and UK. In Japan for example, the majority of Nigerians there are Igbo, likewise in other countries across the globe. Just because 10s of thousands of Yoruba are fleeing Yorubaland for greener pastures in the UK and USA, it doesn't mean Yoruba people are well travelled.
