@ Tosin, i concur bro. they kept my PULSE. lol heard d gal freestyle rap nd rhymes once. sure she is gonna take batten frm Weird MC. |
Star Quest 2009, started like every other usual TV/musical talent hunt with no enthusiasm for me. I have never been an ardent fan of reality shows after the first two episodes of Gulder ultimate search. My disdain nd unbelief about the efficacy of such talent hunt shows was made stronger after listening to the album/cd of D'Accord band (guess 2003 winners) and i was not impressed despite the hype. Thursday 9th April I was invited by a friend to the Star Quest house where I watched d bands play three songs each. I was moved. I immediately grew a passion for four of d bands. The Pulse, Nu sound, Expression nd 100 degrees(didnt make it to the final 3). One of the three songs perfomed on d aforementioned date is chosen for each band as their hit. The move by STAR to further shoot a video each for the three final bands is a great one. Watching those videos few moments ago made me believe that the road to stardom starts from d mind. All three bands are good. Their stage performances too today was balistic. But worthy of mention is d winning band's performance of their alternative song "Redemption song". It kept d crowd wild, active and on their feet. It was obvious they wld dance away with d crown at the end of d day. Their hit track: I GO DEY CRY SOTE, has strong lyrical content well blended in rhymes evaluating d present dearth in our beloved country and also emphasising faith in the possibilities of a better future. Purely fantastic. I deeply wish THE PULSE a successful year. I pray their career will blossom and the wisdom to deliver without relent as they have done at the fameland will not cease. Also I wish the other bands a lift in their endeavours. They were all great. Enough respect to the lead vocalist of the Expression band, his delivery of their hit track was very good. All members of THE PULSE kindly accept my congratulations. Big ups to the male nd female lead and all instrumentalists. THE PULSE - 99,000 votes EXPRESSION - 15,000 votes NU SOUND - 10,000 votes The above figures are approximates and not the exact. ![]() , I go dey pray sote, sote sote sote, sote sote sote, ![]() STAR please put all the songs on CD pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee |

Daddy, Words cannot quantify your immeasurable love for me. You picked me up from the very low and set me up amongst princes. Thank You for all. Only your name needs to be praised. Realborn |
@ Honeychic, I concur |
Mr. Princedapo, Your suspicion was absolutely right. I was expecting something usual, local and kind of D banj type of music (If such is your conclusion) I think that local brand as adjudged by you makes more sense and significance than your supposed international gobbled, twaddled, baloney, claptrap garbaged (con)fusion. By His grace you shall live to see the growth of d so called local brands. 9ice sings in his mother's tongue and it shot him up (another example). I definitely would not contest that Tuface is unstoppable. That is solely his problem not mine. If he makes money or not/ produces hits or not, would not add money to my purse. Criticsms are meant to strenghten an individual to improve. You are entitled to your opinion bro. As for me the album is wack. BORINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG |
An addendum, neva heard Rkelly sound so flat before. d chaka & pliers track is beta. D Banj still mai first choice. As unexcited as i was wen i listened to Faze's nu album, guess I prefer it to this noise. Bought the album, Listened to it. Now don't kno where I dumped it. I care less. ![]() |
Borinnnnnnng Album. Monotonous. Same rhythm. Like someone said the cover jack has more appeal than the tracks. |
In my candid opinion, I do not think Keyamo should have replied the way he did. D response was devoid of maturity. Silence would have been the best answer instead of digging into the guy's secrets, medical and personal life. Also the listing/publishing of his assets through same medium is vague. Ribadu, Waziri, Keyamo, Sowore and the others (Lawyers) are all thieves. May God help Nigeria |
@ EI, Just an addendum to what others have said. Wow Wow Wow that is all I can say. Your family is lucky. Thank God for Journey mercies. Much more thanks for humbly sharing your experience with us. ![]() |

@ Poster, The definition of an ugly gal is one who lacks positive innate qualities and intrinsic values. Such a person would definately not get Love. From observation i have seen many unattractive gals with lovable and exceptionally handsome men as husbands. My boss is an example, shhhhhhhhhhh, dont tell him o |
My dream school had always been Unilag. I sat for Jamb putting in my best to ensure i procure admission by satisfying all statutory, requisite requirement to study Architecture. Fortunately my prayers were answered. But my name was not on the Unilag merit list. I was disturbed. I chose Ife as second choice but deep within me i hated the school with a passion. My cousin who at that time was a part 3 student, advised i check out Ife and with his help I should be offered admission. I refused and in its stead, i bought another Jamb form, started lessons again and sat for the exam. Few weeks after the Jamb exam, i returned from church on that fateful sunday to meet an offer for provisional admission into OAU, Ife. I was overjoyed. At that time, i needed to be in any school. I had tasted a state university and i did not like the environment. Moreover, i was consoled by the fact that the Jamb i wrote few weeks back can still land me in Unilag if i pass. I left for Great Ife the next day being a monday with N6,000 then. The admission letter was late by a week. Registration had commenced. The money was intended to be my return money back to the state school i struggled to enter. First contact, driving through the legendary school gate and the well landscaped grass and vegetation on Road 1 made my heart melt. It was different from the other schools I had visited. I alighted at the SUB building. I strolled through motion ground and tears welled up in my eyes. I felt the consequence of the near miss of being a student and a member of this paradise on hills(quoting an earlier poster). The buildings, all well planned with grandeur. Beautiful architecture and scenery. I wish i can fully express the joy and experience i had that first day. Living in Awo, 'my first and second years' was fun extraordinaire; likewise running after Moz gals.LOL ![]() As students, our biggest complaints being the rigorous and strenous academic routine we were made to go through has paid off as employe today. The strike and delays made me thick. I make impacts wherever i step into. The likes of Deolu Akinyemi have proved the efficacy of the learning culture and the indirect deposit of talents, positive traits and attributes intrinsic inherent in graduates of OAU. More are to come. That does not mean that there are no bad eggs. I thank God that i did not repeal my decision to attend OAU. I was tested by the devil to leave for Unilag after the result of the second Jamb i wrote was released and I was offered an admission on merit. I will forever remain a Great. No regrets. Greatest Ife. |

@ Poster, You damn rite dat NL is due for an event/awards party. Sometime early last year, i started a thread on this same topic. I was schocked that many believed it won't work. Most sighted reasons such as funds, venue, diversity in location of NL members, existing feuds amongst some NL members and the pedigree of our host (Mr. Seun, not sociable) have been identified as barriers to the possibility of organising a party. Irrespective of the obvious, I am thinking of taking it up on myself to organise a party for as many members that are interested at a highbrow venue in Ikoyi or VI. I will pre book the floor with my money prior to a determined date (which would be agreed upon and conveyed to all through the forum) based on the level of participation and interest i receive. Then an access charge of N2000 per person will be charged before entry into the venue. If expected level of participation is high, comedians and few other artistes can be invited in as much as I am sure that i will recoup whatever i have spent. I have been partially active in time past in events packaging and handling, thus i see no paucity in carrying this out effectively. Awards can be postponed for another more organised party. It is going to be more of an introductory party, the truth is everyone cannot come thus during the party, pictures and gists would be flickered through the site medium. The party is going to go beyond the literary meaning. It would start a new network of new professionals. It is not poised towards sharing condoms and sex intentions has some have indicated and believed. Need your opinions. |
