Celebrities / Re: New Photo Of Sean Connery (former James Bond) Now Aged 87 by realborn(m): 8:10am On Nov 19, 2017
The cycle of life....

To be born
To be helped to grow
To worship
To learn
To hustle/work
To have fun
To procreate if interested
To be successful
To grow older
To share knowledge and experiences
To retire
To grow too old
To be helped while waiting to die
To die

(My abridged version of Ecclesiastes 3)

Nothing is brought, nothing is ever taken away!

You & I will go through this cycle. Tread with care...... lipsrsealed

Mr Sean Connery was such a brilliant, deft and adept actor in his prime. Enjoi retirement Sir.

Why create a vacuum? Why were replacements not provided? This response is more risible than the previous odious and villainous reason of "prevention against ADC's influence".

Quick wins are expected from an intervention government, what we keep seeing are quick loses!

The 10,000-hour rule cites that 10,000 hours of deliberate practice lead to compleat adroitness in any field.

When wrapped in diligence, focus and hard work, it leads to absolute dexterity, and there is absolutely no limit to the professional value to be earned.

The typist moved from the dusty Unilag paper room to the prestigious hague primarily on the premise of good attitude and imbibed culture of excellence.

Everyone should choose a path early. Diligence is always rewarded.

Foreign Affairs / Re: Zimbabwean Military Might Take Over – General Chiwenga by realborn(m): 6:15am On Nov 14, 2017
Sometimes, I wonder what soaks into the head of demagogue leaders like Mugabe. Spent 37 years at the helm of affairs (30 as President), and still got the guts to consider his wife (Grace), as a replacement over 16 million people.

Well, both seems to be on the way to lose the "grace". A Military take over is not apt for any country. I wush the Zimbabweans well!

The dead needs no fallalery, knick-knack, ornaments, gilding nor gewgaw.

This simply means that the dead needs no paparazzi like what we're seeing here. Wearing suits, blings and headphones

The death of one is to remind the living of a compulsory price to be paid.

This means, whenever the living hears or knows of a person's death, he should be reminded that his turn is coming too cos every man lives to die.

The mortician should let the glue of dust cum body rest. The posthumous fashion travesty is a risible futile action. undecided

This means, the person in charge of dressing up the corpse should stop wasting his time and just let the dead rest in peace . And that the fashion as in clothes, shoes, blings and all worn on the corpse is just a meaningless action.

Aptly and very well rewritten or explained!

This is different. A young man was laid to rest while dressed in a suit, silver chain and a headset. From information gathered online, the deceased was an entertainer - hence the need to dress him in an 'entertaining way' for his burial. A Facebook user who shared the photo of the deceased on the social media platform - didn't disclose where this happened.

NTA and gaffes represent a cross section of the decay inherent in our statutory institutions.

I doubt any action was taken to learn from this, enhance quality assurance processes and forestall a reoccurrence.

Though this gaffe may be overlooked by many, but truly, there is something fundamentally wrong with us. embarassed

Whats fake here

Lagosians can testify to this *Apapa – Orile – Mile 2 – Cele, Oshodi road rehabilitated

*The Federal Government under writes a ₦40B loan for infrastructural and educational development in Lagos (2014)

Lol. I doubt any Lagosian will testify. Mile 2 to Apapa road is a disaster. Also unsure the Lagos - Kano rail AC coaches you mentioned are meeting expectations.

I think the biggest problem with Jonathan's administration was imbibing a qualitative approach to development. Money was being spent at full value, but the output was extremely poor. The rehabilitated Airports testify to this. Till date, PH is still using the disgraceful canopy as arrival lounge, lol. The Lagos International Airport refurbishment gave way within the defects liability period. Same issues with most of the roads and projects quoted above. Mainly cosmetic, less strategic, top dollar, no consequence management. The revenue from the oil boom barely had an effect!

Today, the Buhari government has not fared any better. I can't point to any strategic achievement (maybe 1, fight against BH, God bless our gallant soldiers) except blaming others and courting controversies in 29 months.

There is something wrong with Nigeria!

I totally condemn the extreme show of force by the Military against the members of IPOB. However the bigotry/spread of hate needs to stop. The Military has been known (whether apt or not) since the advent of the 4th Republic to be deployed to any zone where security threat is envisaged.

My question is, why has there been no bigotry and measurable outcry against the yearly decimation and annihilation of the (Northern) Shia Muslims? No one seems to be fighting for the fate of their incarcerated leader or concerned about the families that supposedly lost members to the last alleged massacre in 2015.

Hmmm.... smiley wink

It was Tuesday morning, 7am.

He limps in, wearing his long unpressed Buba & Shokoto. Walks straight to the board, and writes BLD 201. No notes, no books. What he lacked in height, he had in his brain. It was September 2001. The lecture theatre behind EDM, (choi I don forget the name). OAU, Ife. His name, Mr Olusola, our Building (BLD 201) lecturer.

He was astute, strict, popular and extremely intelligent. He was unique.

We mocked his mean demeanor with his obvious lack of strong financial wherewithal. He had a very old datsun that he would drive to work, perhaps once a week. He knew us all by name. You dare not come in a minute past 7am, you will get penalized. He was sanctimonious and preached morals. Unsure about his relationship with female students (you can never absolutely trust lecturers).

You can imagine my shock when I heard he had become a Deputy Governor. Today, he is on his way to become the Governor. I read he was opportune to reach the exalted position without being a politician. He apparently called his Dad at about the same time the Dad was meeting with the Governor, and that was it.

I am really happy for him because I know part of his humble beginning. Today he is Prof. Olusola, Deputy Governor and Governorship aspirant.

We should never give up. Stay diligent. God got plans for us all.

Congrats in advance Sir. Will be proud to have you lead our dear Ekiti State.

My delight will be to see other persons arrested ab initio with Mr Kanu released. They should not be forgotten just like that. Are their sins more grave (or there is none requiring medical intervention) than Mr Kanu who is enjoying the royal treatment and perquisites of a demagogue King while they gnash their teeth in jail?

Until then I strongly advise other ardent IPOB members to conduct themselves with absolute civility. I am not sure anyone will agitate for them if found breaking any laws.
