These signs is not for everyone to understand but only those that it has been given to. So I am not bothered that lots of folks will make jest of it but we are told to be watchful (alert) so that the day will not take us by surprise. For sure it will take lots of people by surprise and then will they realise that all the signs was real. Peace.... |

There are so many opportunities in Amazon at the moment. From team lead to shift managers , Internet technology, Engineering and so on. It depends on the level you entered. I recommended picking and packing cause she needs something to do that will be bringing income immediately rather than staying at home without nothing as she is still new in the country..again, when you have a blue badge in Amazon, after one year, They will pay for 95% of your tuition fee for a selected course ranging from health care to it, businesses management and human resources. deept: Amazon, no lifting ke!. What role in Amazon are you referring to?!! If it is in their warehouse expect to be on your feet throughout the shift picking and sorting parcels, different sizes info different bags on shelves and into cages. |

It's better than care. Though it will be a little bit challenging in the Beginning but it's better than not doing anything. No lifting what so ever. LagosismyHome: I wonder if this would involve heavy lifting and then becomes too strenuous since its Amazon or if it's quite ok and doable |

That bolded word there is the thing. If the man is perfect, what then will you build? One can only build something new or falling apart. I will give u an example; my wife was 5 months pregnant b4 I came into uk and she was doing the cooking, washing plate and driving me around cause I have not gotten a drivers Licence then and she was doing it willingly. Never complained till she gave birth. I do help her do house chores too but was not compelled to. I did it willingly too. So it's all about accommodating one another. Aphrodite007: Imagine me building a house for a man that cannot understand when his pregnant wife complains about his perfume. Or someone that’s complaining about shopping and sweeping, when he has a pregnant wife. I bless God I didn’t marry a Nigerian man, it’s clearly hit or miss! |

Typical African woman believes that when things are going her way or favouring her then it's all nice and lovely. Let me ask u? If it is the other way round, would u have done what your husband did?. Marriage is also for women ot for girls. The same Bible you quoted says that a wise woman builds her home. notice, a wise woman, not a wise man.

|

The True Meaning of Marriage
When we think of marriage, the first thing that comes to mind is having a lasting relationship. Marriage is a commitment of two people to one another and to each other?s family, bonded by holy matrimony. When a couple decides to marry, they are dedicating their life to each other. Thats the circle of life--our natural instinct to live and produce children and have those children demonstrate good morals.un why then two people get married and vow to be together for richer and poorer, better or worse, decide to just forget about that commitment? There are women out there who single handedly cater for their families without any contributions from the so called husbands and yet they do it with joy. Love is the most important force in this world, not selfishness. author=Aphrodite007 post=84110924]
And that is exactly my point. A man that can’t sacrifice and spray perfume outside to not irritate his pregnant wife who has no control of her hormones is definitely not a man that cares. She is probably fed up as well and wants a way out as well. They both clearly don’t love each other anymore. They should split up and he should find someone that will cook clean and carry a baby. While she should find a good man that would treat her so well that she will even contribute 70% of the bills happily.
|

Help me ask @Aphrodite.... the way she is one sided in this issue makes me feel that na dem...she is all about man should do this, man should do that. What about love? Marriage is for two not for one person. No matter what the other partner is doing, there has to be a sacrifice and considerations. Its has to be from both, not from one person. justwise: If Sgtponzihater1 was your brother living the UK while you are in Nigeria schooling and he fails to send money for your fees because he spent all his money on his family here while the wife look after her family in Nigeria will you be happy? |

My Brother, no one except you can really understand what you are going through no matter how we try. Like always tell people, if u are not in a situation, u can never understand that very situation. Dont be bothered about the judgement of some folks but focus on how to solve the problem u are facing. My question is, was she like this before or after she became pregnant? That will determine my advice for you. It is well with you. sgtponzihater1: Stop judging me. I do these all the time for the past 12weeks. I don't mind doing it. But when it's now my job. She had to even remind me that she's going to work, I should pls throw out the trash later. I can do alot if only I am appreciated. The same lady told me if not her condition, she can never imagine herself eating food that I cooked. Won't thanks for all you have been doing be better.
Anyway I am wicked of paying my rent, and paying council tax, and preparing my food pack to work for the past 12 weeks, and sweeping my house daily and throwing the garbage and washing plate.
We had a 2week cooling period EON has brought bill for that, she agreed to pay power and internet, but EON sent a message to state that we have refused to pay and they'll take measures. On Monday I will call and ask them to put the bill on me so as to save myself. Yet I am a wicked man.
3months in UK all I have sent to all my siblings and parents combined is 200 pounds. I know how much I have seen her send, but i am a wicked man.
Cheers for your support for your follow woman.
Afterthought: Noticed when she was registering for energy, she stylishly added both our names so if she doesn't pay I get a message. Same I got for internet. But I am a very bad man, say another lady. |

When wisdom speaks, understanding applauds. I believe you are a woman but you reason wisely unlike the selfish and selfcenterd that thinks the world only revolves around them. I hardly comment here but I always follow on in silent. Thank you for bringing some folks to their senses. LagosismyHome: well it obvious both parties dont care for each other ......... however maybe something happened in the early part of the marriage that made her stop caring and switch off mentally |

I think you are going too far. Pls dont condemn but provide a good and sound advice. Thank you Aphrodite007: Hmm I feel like I should take my words back. Hold on one sec.perfume can actually be irritating to pregnant women. A good man should understand this and be happy to spray it outside.
Cooking for yourself? I don’t understand- is she a good machine? Did they burn your hand? That woman is carrying a child and you still expect her to do all the chores, what is she, your slave?
Taking the bins out? Ogbeni haba! She works o- And you expect her to do all this? Your entitlement reeks! My husband washes the plates at home. I’ve never touched bins in my life. Indian food, he stopped eating it cos I don’t like the smell.
Look at me think she was the problem. You clearly are. You’re a wicked man! |

Answers to your questions. You can get a drivers licence with your Brp cause you are on settlement visa. How determined you are. I took the driving test once and boom!!! I passed. It cost me £370. So give it a try, it will relieve lots of stress. Just get the form and fill it then , send your original brp with it and they will get back to u. Again, have you registered to vote? I have and just voted this May. There was this election in Manchester and I voted the Liberals or whatever their name is...lol. It will help to build your credit rating and that will help you to get credits, loans and Finances on cars and other stuffs. Hope the land is treating you well. Cheers |

matt234: Hi Guys, Your opinions will go a long way; and if there's someone who has been in this situation and scaled through, please share their story.
2005 - I applied for a UK student visa but was refused due to insufficient funds and low WAEC grades. 2006 - Changed my name and DOB; got a new passport and applied for another student visa in 2007 and by this time, the UK had started taking biometrics as part of the application process. I was caught and presumably banned for 10 years. The passport used was not returned back to me as they believed that was not my true identity. All these I did as I was ignorant and just despirate to have a bright future, which I am already having without stepping out of Nigeria. All my siblings eventually left Nigeria in the struggle and live in US, Canada and France; I am the only one left here for now
Fast forward to 2018, I have since graduated from Uni and now working as an analyst for an Oil Company.
Now, I have a fiancee who is settled in the UK and who will eventually be a British citizen in 2019. We plan to get married next year and I am planning to apply for a spose visa. I will declare my previous applications, including the change of name and biometrics, which I believe would now have been deleted as it is over 10 years; however, I am sure there is a likelihood of a refusal under section 320 but I will appreciate if there's someone who has such experience and who can share what they did. I work full time and I earn a considerably huge amount of salary. I also have a business and few properties and can show a genuine bank account with good cash flow and a balance of over N40m; my fiancee also earns over £30k yearly, so finance is not an issue. I am confident that I would normally meet the requirements if not for the refusals and ban which happened over 12 years ago.
Going by your experience guys, what do you suggest? I suggest you stay back there in Nigeria and continue with your successful job and business. You can always visit Uk and go back home. Allow your wife to get the passport and she can relocate to another country where both of u can get married easily. With such amount of pay in naija, UK will not smell my leg... |

Hello beautiful people of Nairaland. Happy new year to u all.. Info to the new comers,
Once u arrive in uk, make sure u have proof of address as u can not almost do nothing without it. Provisional licence is a proof of address as it carries the address on the card but one needs to have a reference from a British citizen that has a drivers license (that does not relate to u) and ur original document to get one; BRP or international passport and it costs 45 to 50£ to apply for one.
Once proof of address is sorted, every other thing is easier. |

live4tk: Hi everyone, I believe everyone is doing great and enjoying the cold weather. I arrived UK on 4th December.Below are what have achieved so far: 1) Brp card collected 2) Called for N I number 3) Went to the GP for registration. They were asking for proof of address. My wonderful people below are my questions: 1) Husband and I are staying in a shared apartment. All bills are sorted out by the landlord. What can I do in this case. 2) How long those it take them to send the NI form to me? 3)Can I start my job hunting now without NI number? Please anyone with useful links on vacancies? I will really appreciate it. Thanks in advance. @joygirl2017 and @Realgeo please I really need to hear from you guys. Welcome to uk and enjoy the chilling weather. Back to Question; 1, The landlord has to include your name in the bills as that's the only proof that you live there. He wouldn't want to cause that will increase the bills even though he collects it with ur house rent 2, NI number takes 1 to 2 weeks to be approved as u do not need interview cause all the info they need is already in ur visa. Your hubby need just to call and request for the form. 3, u can hunt and find a job without NI number but ur employer has to see the proof that you are processing one before they will allow u to work. Again, u will be charged excess tax without NI number. 4, there are lots of job vacancies in uk. Just search indeed website, career.Co. Uk and many more. Welcome |

Says it's necessary for obtaining employment on arrival in the UK, else I might have to wait for 6 months before working inorder to get a UK police report. Please, how acurate is this? Don't waste your money getting the Nigeria police report as u can get a job without it. If u will be doing care job then, u require CRB certificate which cost £50 and are valid for 3 years or so and that is will be done in uk. Just pack your bag and come over. Cheers |
