The rule is not for the other interviews you have been to. Let me say It was strictly for interview panel and those of us they interviewed. Probably you will understand it better this way

I believe your assertions, most candidates where not asked the tell me about yourself question or may we meet you etc, myself inclusive. I only tried to sell myself inbetween the interview when questions arise.

Don't forget test questions were simple but not really simple. During application CV was left out for GTs but now they are not making it clear whether or not GTs should come along with CV. Think about it and give a yes or no answer instead of attack me.
