ImperialCovfefe: The rate on the SIBTC dollar fund is calculated a bit differently (in comparison with a money market fund). You don't have an annualised yield that accrues daily. Instead, you get appreciation in the fund's net asset value (NAV) and a yearly dividend payout, just like equities.
That said, the annualised total return (NAV + distribution paid out in April) as at today is ~ 6.64%. In general, you should expect c. 6-7% annually.
You need to complete a separate application to sign up for the dollar fund. Additionally, there is a minimum 6-month holding period and online redemptions are not allowed.
Hope this helps. wow! thank you very much Sir. |

SteveOfu: So, say am investing 100k
Commission: 0.125%=12,500
Custody Fee: 0.10% per transaction (per investment)=10,000
Transaction Fee: N100.00 per transaction (per investment)=100
VAT= 630
Total=N23,230
What do I stand to gain then? you are almost correct.
Just that the calculations above are not done On the capital
But on the interest you earn.
100000 @ 12% = 12000 interest..
Then you calculate those charges on that 12k. |

freeman67: All these things sometimes do not need as much stress as this.
1. You can move your money to other bank quietly and do the TB there transfer charge is N52.5. Just make sure you visit the bank to know if they have your desired rate/tenure before the transfer.
2. However, if you do not have another account or you insist on doing it with them then just before you go out to the bank or while in the bank that morning you can call their customers service to verify what is available on ( 01 422 0003). That call will go to their Head Office Customer Service though like normal CS it be giving you options till you select to speak with an agent so you may spend a little on call. I'd an agent pick tell them what you want then if you are satisfied with any option tell you had to call them because nobody wants to treat your request in the branch you are... You will see what will happen.
3. Also, if you insist on investing with Stanbic or you do not have another account, you can go on their main twitter handle post your complaint there if you use twitter. Just explain how hectic investing in TB is in the branch you went and how many time you went there. They will ask you to send a Direct Message to them and explain the details.
Good luck. Kai.. No 2 & 3 na query O! Even sack! Stanbic go vex ghan! |

Curvinus: I tried to bid for Treasury Bills at Access Bank for their 324 days tenor with a 12 percent discount rate, but their N18,000 custodian fee put me off instantly. The upfront payment was about 620k and the principal is N6m. Is this a good deal? The charge is 2.9%... (Fbn charged me 2.1% total last week) Are you sure you saw that 18k is for only custodian fee? Or it's total charges? Try it again and if it's same.. Better port to another bank O |

DigitalMallam: I'll advice you to do your due diligent with your bank before investing, it's not cheap to maintain $ account. You deposit money, you are charged commission, you withdraw same charge applies, you withdraw penalty applies, even when you receive or send money online you incur charges. At the end of the day, IF Naira is not badly depreciated, you might end up losing sizable part of your money. Below is the current rate now is it yield or yield at issue that I will get? .. After doing the math... @7.63 for 2025 And considering charges of like 3-5% It's not worth the stress... Except dollar reaches N450-500 I will stick to Tbills and start a business now... Stock goods... If dollar rises.. The goods may double in price. That will make me more money too.. Eh.. Lol |
