esdajo: To God be the glory as from Him flows all wisdom. Nobody should ascribe victory to him/herself but to God Almighty. I appreciate everyone who contributed in one way or the other to encourage me to fight the battle and at last, God won it for me.
Now time to get a new passport and defer my admission until summer. Thanks to you all once more. I remain very appreciative of all your contributions which was by no means meagre. I am so happy at the turn out of your case. Remember to store all back and forth emails between you and the Embassy just in case they wanna act funny next time....God no go gree sha. |

HARTZIV: underdeveloped is relativ.. maybe saying economical not as powerful as the rest would be better... the same with racism: its not a real problem in any part of germany but in the east is statistically more racism than in the rest (if u compare the election result of the right wing party und the crime statistics) not saying the east is generally bad especially the infrastruktur in the east might be better because of the "Solidaritätszuschlag" Ah, gut gesagt! |

segadebayo: have you lived in the east? Trust me with the rest of the world they ain't underdeveloped but the south is definitely richer and besides you stand to learn the language faster in a city with fewer internationals, every african I have met says that, I'm presently in the east, fine in the villages you could find Nazis but really even the young germans don't go to the villages. Most people that have lived in the east never have anything bad to say but people who never lived there seem to feel they're racist without proof. If you interested in germany just try and get there but the only barrier I see in settling is the Language but not location I see your point, coming from a nigerian point of view. But Hartziv says he's been here almost (or all ) his life. I'm pretty sure he knows very well what he's saying too. |

Thanks I think you should write them. Have you enrolled? If not, write the school as well about the delay and try ask for an extension. |

Politics › Re: Nigeria Accent Is The 10th Sexiest English Accent In The World by Realk1(m): 11:11am On Sep 19, 2014 |
laudate: This must be a joke! We have so many different types of accents in Nigeria. Which one exactly, are they referring to?
Is it the Oyo accent, or the Igbo accent, the Edo accent, the Fulani accent, the Efik accent or what? I don't get it oh! This is because, there is no such thing as a "Nigerian" accent! We have as many different accents, as there are tribes...
Have you heard Nigerians from different ethnic groups speak English? Can you compare the accent of the Bassa trader, with that of the Ibibio fisherman?
Or can you compare Ogbeni Aregbesola's accent in Osun, with that of Liyel Imoke of Cross River? Aren't they different? You're very right tho. I think however, that non-Nigerians would find it more difficult to tell an ibo accent from a Yoruba one as many years of integration has made us talk more alike than we'd realise. Two examples - 1. (This one's just an illustration) Siblings in a household don't realise how much resemblance they have, whereas some other people might actually mistake them for twins! 2. Most of us can quickly tell a Ghanaian accent (when we hear stuff like fork being called 'firk' ), not realising that they, despite being only about 24 million or so, have about six distinct ethnic groups and over 70 languages -which I believe, influences their English accent and would be readily discerned by knowing Ghanaian ears. What I have against that list though (yep I've seen it and nope, we weren't rated number 10...I think it's 5 sef I can't remember sha)...Ehen, what I have against that list is that the notable speakers listed were both Yoruba- KSA & Omotola. This could mean that the Yoruba accent might actually be what they were unknowingly referring to, thereby making all I stated earlier just a bunch of crap. TGIF |

osurvey: bro but please does the mail mean they will eventually issue u visa?. I was sent the same email immediately after my interview. Thanks I can't say. I think they're just obliged to inform you that you won't be issued the visa without the adequate funds. But all the same, it's a good sign. If you aced the interview and all your documents are complete and original, you're basically good. Just have a prayer-backed patience. |

I have not gotten any reminder.Anyway, the acct is funded now,but the Bank is yet to notify me.when am I likely to get d visa now cos my enrollment deadline is fast approaching. I think it depends on the foreign office in the state where your institution is located. Some are quicker than others in handling visa processing. . Abi guys? |

jaydeemourg: Did u also get a mail immediately after ur interview asking u to fund ur account?.I got the mail below:Dear Sir,
with regard to your student visa application at the German Consulate General, please be informed that we are still in need of a confirmation by Deutsche Bank that your blocked account has been opened and the necessary amount has been credited to it. Kindly forward the confirmation by e-mail attachment (pdf) as soon as at hand.
Thank you for your anticipated cooperation. In ur own opinion, does it mean that I would get my visa not long after the account is funded? Thanks I got that same email immediately after the interview. Nope, it doesn't mean you'll get it immediately afterwards. But in the event you get a reminder about the same issue, then you'd probably get it after funding. |
