Same here! I personally think the colours are way too deep tho. You could notice most images now have a little orange-reddish shade and background which is undesirable for me. If they tried to manipulate it to look like Amoled colours, then it was peharps a fairly weak attempt. Oreo colours were better in my opinion... They may not be that vibrant but they had a good balance between colour shades and tint. They should go back to that in their next update.
That said, the new stable pie update has some jiucy features tho..
* Perfect Dark mode
* Improved reading mode.
* Better battery (major improvement here!)
* Improved camera (the stock camera is now almost as good as the legendary gcam)
* New charging animation.
* Added Face lock. (you can use it to unlock apps)
* New GPS status bar icon.
* A few app icon changes like MiVideo etc
As per the Hotspot-wifi issue (inability to use them simultaneously), I read somewhere that it was because the new Google pie codes clashed with Xiaomi's Miui integrations. So it's practically impossible to have that feature on most Miui roms. You can switch to AOSP-based roms tho, works flawlessly.
Eu fans there's a new update. Popped up earlier today. Will be updating tonight. Hopefully the display colour saturation and WiFi-Hotspot issues are solved.
Anyone updated already?

You can only do it five times per night. I recharged N500 out of curiosity to try this your theory. Ended up with N375 before getting this message.
Wow. And I was planning to accumulate 2gb this night. Going by what you said, it means the the limit is N125 for 1250mb.

Imagine MX people, this is a feature that was on Mobo player more than 6 years ago. Well I've seen reason to upgrade then
Not just Mobo, even vlc and pre-installed video players of most phones. But it doesn't make them any better than MX player. Picture-in-picture is just a single feature. There's more to android video playing. MX remains the undisputed champion in that regard.

I don't know why some users of redmi note 5 are having issues updating their devices to Android 9, am a bit sad because they are missing out on this wonderful transformation of the note 5, the update even improves the screen clarity n it seems like buying a new phone altogether
"Improved screen clarity"? Are you for real? The new pie display colour is horrible. Have already seen similar complaints on Miui forums...Still don't get what you guys find enjoyable about those colors. Oreo colours were better...I mean, get another RN5 still on Oreo and make a side-by-side comparison with the one on pie, and then judge for yourself.
Found an app on XDA to make some tweaks on the pie colours tho. Requires root. Much improvement.

Back to EU MIUI ROM after rocking Omni Rom for two months . Must one format Data each time one ports to EU MIUI ROM from another ROM?
EU MIUI ROM is cleaned, no adverts
Reddington
Nope. It's exclusive to pie firmwares only from what I've observed.. Pie EU is encrypted, so you either upgrade your recovery (to pie-supported recovery) to avoid decryption issues or you backup all your data and format.
By the way, the new pie display colours is annoying me...Looks like I'm the only one who doesn't like it... I prefer Oreo colours... I'm currently on EU pie stable version...Might port back to Eu Oreo soonest...

You can change the colors back from "Contrast and colors". I found it set to "increased". Setting it back to Automatic seemed to work. I personally prefer this new setting though.
That was the first thing I did the moment I noticed the contrast after the update, but it didn't help much. It's just a fundamental change in pie by default. "Contrast and colours" settings aside, the update has a higher contrast by default... It's integrated into the rom... You can't do much about it. I had to set mine to "standard" it's manageable. #BringBackOreoColours!

I updated my RN5 today and I observed that I could not use wifi and hotspot together anymore. Very painful. My friend has refused to update his because of that. I also observed that the screen looks more sharp. The colours look more vibrant.

Display colors changed after the xiaomi.eu pie update. Contrast is a little higher than normal...almost like Amoled...very deep colours. Who else noticed? I personally think Oreo colours were better..

I think it's normal. When I bought my first Xiaomi device, I used Ali Standard shipping. It was on "despatched to overseas" for 23 days before it finally arrived Lagos. I wasn't worried tho coz I knew I could always get a full refund if I didn't get the package. The only downside? The time wasted.

Did you get a message / call from the post office notifying you to come for your product? I've been expecting a small packet package for over a month now. And I'm starting to think it might even be at the post office already
Yeah, they called me... Like always. Just go to your PO and check yourself. Sometimes the problem is from PO attendants... Some of them are just lazy & incompetent.

Well mine since February 24th or 25th didn't come I just applied for dispute yesterday. Another one, since the 6th of last month has not arrived. They even extended the purchase protection by 20 more days. Your luck with CPOSPP is legendary. I still wouldn't recommend it for first time users or people who haven't gotten used to AliExpress.

Congratulations again.
Too bad. Additional 20 days to wait out? ...Terrible. I see similar complaints on AE reviews once in a while. But I've never had such experience... I just hope I don't run out of luck... Even though deep down I believe it has absolutely nothing to do with luck.

Guys stop this argument. It will take hauwei billions of dollars, tons of developers and years to come up with their is and mind you they won't compete with Google. If hauwei needs to build their is they may as well need to invent their own programming language, because all programming language are being regulated and maintained by us. Who will give em oracle and java license to develop such os. Mind you Google now have their own programming language there's no competition Chinese don't make chipset, camera, processor either os. They buy those stuffs and couple the phone. Hauwei is a net provider they did spy on USA and moreover they can't make a phone..... They depend on usa for everything,if they decide to make their own phone, chipset believe me it won't sell global.and Taiwan won't even sell their mediatek chip to hauwei. Who would buy mediatek phone over Snapdragon and likes of Samsung. If they make their own os most of these Chinese brands will go on extinction mind you USA regulates the international market and can ban China from selling their os phone globally.
If they make they os Google with stop licensing em and will discontinue them from Google services. Who would buy phone without Google play, YouTube , better camera , better os.85% of world's application and games are made in USA , China can't win this war.
Believe me USA will block all their services on China is it can only mean no Facebook, Google, YouTube,WhatsApp, Instagram, Twitter, Chinese brands won't make better phones with their own invented chipset and os. They will go bankrupt to make their own os will not cost less than 50b talk more of chipset, camera, believe their phone won't be affordable and there will be more and more attack on their phones.
I'd like to meet this guy in person. The ignorance is authentic. A few tech classes will do.

What's with this "Don't use China Small Packet... Whatever that's not trackable"! You guys are making it look like a big deal. Last year alone, I ordered nine (9) items using China Post Ordinary Small Packet shipping, and I got each and every one of them in 3 weeks at most! I've made 3 this year already. It's all about choice. To me, it doesn't make sense if the cost of shipping an item is 200 - 2000 times higher than the cost of the item itself. Go for a different and and trackable method if you want to, but don't make it look like China Post Ordinary Small packet shipping (or anything untrackable) is a scam. They deliver... Besides you can always get your refund if for any reason, you didn't get your item.
2nd item (un-trackable) collected today. China Post Ordinary Small Packet delivers... Always.

What do you suggest I do, guys? I'm fed up. sad sad sad
I know that feeling, trust me. But I think you should have given the guy every detail (positive and negetive) about online shopping, particularly on Aliexpress. And then allow him to decide whether to go on with the process still or not. You were too quick with your assurances knowing fully well how erratic and unpredictable shipping can be most times. You can't fault the guy for being agitated... I mean, he's a refined JJC and you plainly told him item would arrive in 2 weeks. The only option left for you is to get back to the guy and calmly explain EVERYTHING to him.. including the refund system, and then pray he understands. You can even introduce him to this thread if he isn't on it yet. I believe when he sees similar complaints, his nerves will calm down a little..

I keep the two, mx for network videos as you rightly said, (I use acestreams and live nettv a lot), VLC when i need to cast to another screen (which I do a lot also) and for fullscreen videos, (MX players wont use the notch area). I think both are pretty close and having the 2 is like best of both worlds grin grin

I'll take vlc over mx player now o, mx player hasnt been adding new features lately. With vlc you get picture in picture, fullscreen videos for devices with notch, u can even extend videos to your tv using wireless display while you use another app. There are still other features too grin
I personally think VLC is the ultimate champion of PC/desktop video players. That's actually where they started. Their PC popularity is way ahead of their Android's. On android, MX player joined the game way before VLC. Their app is very optimized with lots of features. Could play virtually all video formats and has Multiple Decoding modes, plus their subtitle support is awesome compared to that of vlc! Their playback system is the best you'll ever find in Android. I don't even want to go into UI design/interface and networking.
MX doesn't have any competition in the world of android video playing. A quick search on Google will tell you that. Vlc isn't a bad app but I uninstalled it after few weeks of usage, its a little heavy and hugs the RAM a lot, plus the design looks a little outdated and maybe ugly. I hate that orange theme.. Lol

Just like MX player on android video players, PowerAmp is the undisputed king of android music players... Closely followed by Neutron music app... And then BlackPlayer. For the love of god, no one should ever mention that Boomplay again.

Hi guyz
I recently bought a RN7 4/64 Global version, and sold my RN5AI Chinese Version.
Both phones are great, Even though the RN7 is much more beautiful and with a more powerful processor...

but when it comes to the Default Camera result
i will give it to my RN5AI ...
Then again in the N5 best the N7 in battery life too side by side..

Though the RN7 is more polished, i will really say, there's no reason to upgrade to a RN7,
Perhaps it would be better to upgrade to RN8, when its produced for sale..

This is just my opinion guyz..Tell if you agree or disagree..Its all ok...
Couldn't have said it any better. RN7 is all about aesthetics, mostly. The difference when compared to RN5ai is very thin. RN5ai is a solid, reliable piece of hardware that is very robust all round. My elder bro wanted to join the RN7 craze, but I told him there was essentially no reason to upgrade. Thankfully, he agreed after I laid out the disparities to him. It's all marketing gimmicks, guys. Give it 3-4 months and RN8 will surface with "amazing" specs, and a new wave of craze will start all over. If your phone is still robust and performs optimally, why hopping to another one? I mean, I know of a guy here who still uses RN4 and......Let me leave it at that grin
So I totally agree with you, bro.
