ItsModella: Is this an attempt at justifying the operation of armed robbers during the day? For goodness sake, I'm not here to compare Nigeria to America or vice versa, I'm stating things as I know/see them, Nigeria is largely unsafe.

adconline: What's ur understanding of isolated incidence? Maybe ur dictionary is written by Boko Haram? This a daily occurrence in Naija and you are talking as if you live in Aso Rock. BTW, GEJ had to stay indoor during one of ur our Independence anniversaries due to insecurity.
daily occurrence? undecided have u been harrassed by the police today? Tell us where and when
PoliticsRe: Is Nigeria Really Unsafe? by RedLight1:
So by that single, isolated incidence, Nigeria is unsafe. Bravo! Hope you have your red pali because Nigeria doesnt really need you.
i tire for these people... If i should narate my ordeal with cosmopolitan police and their racist intentions... Nobody will want to live in england...does that mean all english policemen are like that. These people will just judge entire nation just becoz of single event that happened to them in the past..... My friend went to france and his luggages were taken away from him at gun point by some white french kids... he almost got shot because he didnt release it to them on time... close to french embassy oo.... The police acted as if nothing happened and the media completely ignored it .... Buh if it happens in nigeria... They will blow it out of proportion and make every nigerians look like a luggage thief

publisher: All I can say is that most young patriotic Nigerians end up being the most successful in Nigeria. You'd never hear the likes of Psquare's,Dbanj's,Basket mouths, Wizkids,Jim Ike or Banky W lament that Nigeria is a failed state. Genevieve Nnaji is unbelievably patriotic,I've spoken to her once and she's addicted to Nigeria. A CNN reporter once tried to make Genevieve 'diss' Nigeria but she out-smarted him and declared her patriotism. What some of them like Banky W do is to engage in constructive criticisms and contribute their own quota through NGOs or stuff,in making Nigeria better.

A lot of Nigerian-born UK aspiring artistes have been rushing back to Nigeria to restart their careers, many are breaking even. Outside the USA and a few western/Asian nation, Nigeria boasts of one of the most financially buoyant showbiz industry in the world.

Most of the serial failures I've met in Nigeria are people who like much of Nairaland are disillusioned and extremely lazy, waiting for GEJ to knock on their doors and offer them a good job and good life.

In Mexico, they've had brutal drug wars for years, dismembered corpses sometimes litter some Mexican streets every morning. In fact it got so bad that sometime in 2011,and entire police unit in one of Mexico's drug war regions resigned. Yet many Hollywood A-listers visit Mexico daily for vacations and weekend breaks. But look at Nigeria,in spite of Boko Haram's onslaught in Maiduguri or Yobe, have you ever heard of an entire Nigerian Police unit resigning their posts out of fear?

Nigeria is a great nation with a lot of foolish domestic critics.

I also blame our opposition groups; they don't know the difference between destroying Nigeria's image and destroying PDP's image.
lovely

PoliticsRe: Is Nigeria Really Unsafe? by RedLight1:
Allohrandy: My brother, I agree with you but the writer of the article is trying to say is that Nigerians should be constructive when criticizing the country. CNN and ABC will never show the thousands of homeless people living the streets of South Central Los Angles or the Tenderloin Area in San Francisco because they always wanna protect the image of USA in the eyes of the world. There is no country in this world that does not have its own peculiar problems. First world countries has first world problems while third world countries has third world problems. Nigeria has lots of problems like any other country but that doesn't mean I will talk shit about my country. Nigeria is my country and I love my country. Naija4life
bros am on ur side o... Naija4life.... The major problems with nigerians are self hate and inferiority complex.. They always think everywhere is paradise apart from nigeria..... That's why they are ready to sell their family's property for a visa to south africa... Imagine one idiot says somalia is safer than his own country.... They dnt want u to compare nigeria to america becoz to them america is a perfect definition of paradise where everything works like they are in heaven... Have learnt to ignore those people long ago... if u notice most of the people shouting nigeria is a poo hole have never been to nigeria b4 or left country some years back...(atleast that's what they claimed) shy-mx dude as an example.... He has never been to nigeria b4.... Everything he knows about nigeria, he got them thru google,.... Buh check his posts... He was talking as if he is living in maiduguri and he knows everything that is going on there.... Same with people like omo-tier1 and the texas cow abi wetin he/she called herself/himself....... Nigeria is definitely not safe buh it's not as bad as these ediots painted it... Including the medias
PoliticsRe: Is Nigeria Really Unsafe? by RedLight1: 7:53am On Apr 26, 2013
bomly: Anyway whether or not is unsafe is dependent on where you have stayed and lived and where you are comparing it to. If you compare Nigeria to Sudan and Somali and Haiti then you can possible say Nigeria is safe but if you compare it to France, Dubai or America then you will tremble and say Nigeria is unsafe. So what is safety with the bomb blast and killings of people everyday, Yes this does not only happen in Nigeria but it still doesn't change the fact that it's happening. Infact how many wealthy people do you see build houses without huge fences? That explains how safe it is, also how many people move without escort also tells you about security.

Lets tell yourselves the truth as that is where change begins, we need solution but how can we have one when each time people say Nigeria is safe and Nigeria is Poor and all is okay, Please from my view; We need more security, thanks for the present security but we need more security. No, foreigners are not hyping this, they are only evaluating from the resources they believe we have as to where we should be, in real sense it depends on a lot of factors to reach out a conclusion, but meanwhile everything is based on where you're looking at it from.
nobody says nigeria is safe.... Buh it's not as bad people painted it

Allohrandy: Is it a crime to live and hustle in US, Nigeria is my home and I love my country till death. I will always try my best to make Nigeria better in my own little way. I just dont like it when people say shit and poo about my country.. I have never heard an American or a Mexican Immigrant talk shit about their country.. we should learn to love our country instead of always criticizing it. Naija4life
cool... Criticism is important though.. Buh it should be done constructively

oge4real: No where on earth is safe. Here in Sydney, the evening news is filled with murder, rape and all sorts of violence. Yet we are still here, just for one reason- the system is working!
If we had a working system in Nigeria, then I can assure Nigerians will rush home and help build our fatherland.

Allohrandy: Olodo English Professor, The correct spelling is 'OWN' not 'WON' grin grin grin grin and Also Its actually written English not spoken English.. you don't know how I speak because you have never heard me speak so its written English. You claimed to live in USA so you should know that there are many Americans who speak perfect English but cant compose a Letter or write an Essay in good and correct English. First take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye. Anyway, This is not an English class or a discussion about English Language

Billyonaire: The greatest Enemies of Nigerians are the pessimist Diasporans that are detached from patriotic common-sense, yet not detached from visiting Nigerian Nairaland. The sickening thing is they can not mix-up with the whites, and yet can not accept the unionism of their home country. They are a lost group of people. I pray for them daily to regain their senses. The optimistic ones are the successful ones who visit home often and have their structures on the sands of time.

ItsModella: The OP/author of that article must be smoking some good weed. Because you really have to be on some cloud 9 to just blatantly deny the fact that Nigeria is grossly unsafe. The same Nigeria where armed robbers operate in broad daylight.
so do robberies happen in the night at other places? How many bank robbers in usa rob in the night?
