AgricultureRe: Tomatoes Nursery Issue by Redman44(m): 3:43am On Mar 20, 2025
Babyface33:
Dear fellow farmers,

Please help me analyze my tomato nursery. It is currently 6 weeks and 5 days old and has already started flowering. My farm supervisor suggests that we abandon it, claiming it won’t produce well and that investing further in transplanting would be a waste of money.

The delay in transplanting was caused by a delay in borehole drilling by the company. Now, I am confused about whether to proceed with transplanting or not.

I would appreciate your suggestions and advice. Thank you!
Please transplant them and don't be scared of going on with this venture. Is the borehole ready now? If yes, go on and transplant. Some of the tomato will survive and give you some yield while some will give low yield or die off. Don't give up yet. Cheers.
BusinessRe: Should I Use My 3million Naira Start A Business,or Start My Building Project by Redman44(m): 5:23pm On Mar 18, 2025
Redman44:
Guy, get about 3-4 acres of land cheaply somewhere in the Southwest. Don't worry if the land is in a rural area. Start a commercial orchard there. Plant fruits like oranges ( different species ), Grapes ( Different Species ), Agbalumo, Bananas, Plantain , pawpaw, Mangoes ( big fruiting ones ), Guava etc. Plant at least 20 trees of each fruit. You can plant wambugu apple too. It is an investment that will bring you lots of money at different times of the year. Make sure you do perimeter fencing of the land with strong wire gauze to ward off Intruders and herdsmen cool. Think about this.
Look towards buying the land in a village in Oyo State, Ondo or inner Ogun State. It is cheaper there. People will laugh at you and mock you, but be focused and intentional. Your investment will start yielding gains in the 3rd to 4th year. Keep your job and keep buying fruit seedlings and transplanting them on the land every month. Cheers, Bro.

Very bad. Please buy sand from these street and road sweepers if you have small projects to do in your house e.g building chicken houses, dog house, small stores or doing latrines and small cement plastering. The sweepers keep the sand in Dangote sacks by the road side. The sand cost 300-400 naira per bag. Patronize them and put money in their pockets. God bless you. Amen. 2025 will favour us all. Amen.

EducationRe: Is Private School Worth The Cost? Let’s Discuss! by Redman44(m): 5:27pm On Mar 03, 2025
MasterTeeUSA:
Even smaller class does in private schools will not give your child the one on one attention that the child needs. Best to put the child in a good public school and pay for a private tutor. If the public school is terrible or you are concerned about bad friends, get more involved and know all the teachers...they should know your number too. Public school teachers are licensed and on average, more educated than private school teachers because pay is tied to educational qualification, so most public school teachers pursue advanced degrees.
Some teachers in private schools did not study Education courses at the University, and they are very good . They read widely and learn on the job at the speed of light.
EducationRe: Is Private School Worth The Cost? Let’s Discuss! by Redman44(m): 2:13pm On Mar 03, 2025
In every private school in Nigeria, there is always one crazy and evil teacher who believes he or she is the best teacher on Earth. This person sees nothing good in new teachers and always frustrates them. Sadly, these crazy teachers are always unexposed and have wasted their lives achieving nothing as teachers. Hmn.
EducationRe: Is Private School Worth The Cost? Let’s Discuss! by Redman44(m): 1:39pm On Mar 03, 2025
Some private schools are bad. Parents should pay unscheduled visits to the private schools their children attend. Check the facilities of the private school of your child. Pretend as if you want to speak to the headmaster or principal and observe facilities and ongoing teaching activities. Cheers.

Here is my dream roster for Afrobasket 2025.

Caleb Agada
Josh Okogie
Metu
Ike Nwamu ( Captain )
Miye Oni
Talib Zanna
Gabe Vincent
Akubundo
Zain Hearst/Uche Iroegbu
Abu Malik
Christian Mekuwolu
Jahlil Okafor

Coach: Abdulrahman Mohammed

What do you think of my Squad? Thanks
SportsRe: Nigeria Basketball Thread! by Redman44(m): 7:50am On Feb 28, 2025
Now that Dtigers have qualified for Angola 2025 Afrobasket, I believe the team/roster should be a bit fortified. We don't need a full NBA Dtigers squad to win the championship. However, I would love to see the inclusion of Miye Oni, Josh Okogie, Metu and Gabe Vincent into the roster. These are gifted players that are still playing at the highest level of basketball. We need an all star squad to overcome Senegal, Ivory Coast, Tunisia and South Sudan. Senegal and Ivory Coast are very strong at the moment.
SportsRe: Nigeria Basketball Thread! by Redman44(m): 7:46pm On Feb 22, 2025
Coach Mohammed Abdulrahman has good experience coaching in Nigeria ( Coaching local clubs in our league ). He has also served as an Assistant Coach for Dtigers at a couple of Afrobasket tourneys. He has also captained the Dtigers for several years in recent history. Recently, Coach Abdulrahman has been an Assistant Coach during the Summer League with an NBA club. A sort of internship in the USA. Abdulrahman needs more exposure in North America and Europe. Exposure matters, folks.

I am happy about the result tonight. Uganda started beating Nigeria around 2021. This should never have happened. I don't think we need NBA players for the Afrobasket tournaments. Our Europe and USA collegiate players are okay. We play Cape Verde tomorrow. May God be with Dtigers. Amen.
SportsRe: Nigeria Basketball Thread! by Redman44(m): 7:36pm On Feb 22, 2025
Now you KNOW, fellas cool cool. Caleb Agada has a strong faith in God. Then you have a captain, Ike Nwamu, who can be classified as a veteran. Nwamu played alongside the likes of Aminu brothers , Ike Diogu, Ike Iroegbu , Stan Okoye etc and was also on Dtigers squad at the 2021 Olympics. This squad has experience !!. Nwamu will serve as the captain in this era. He has the tenacity. And we are lucky to have Deji Akindele as an Assistant Coach. Deji played for Nigeria up till 2021. He did not make the cut for the 2021 Olympics Squad, but I am he has become a Coach now. We also have an Assistant Coach of Dallas Mavericks on our team. The dude happens to be Nigerian too. Cheers.
SportsRe: Nigeria Basketball Thread! by Redman44(m): 3:56pm On Feb 22, 2025
Talib Zanna is also in the current Dtigers team that defeated Libya yesterday. Zanna played in qualifying games for the 2019 FIBA world Cup for Nigeria. We should start familiarizing ourselves with these current crop of players. Do you know that one of Coach Abdulrahman's assistants is Akin Akindele? Akindele played for Dtigers up till 2021. Dtigers are coming BACK cool cool cool. This team cannot be pushed aside. I remember that about 6 players in this current Dtigers squad won a tournament in 2023 or 2024 in Asia, under Coach Abdulrahman. Please do your research.

I strongly believe Dtigers will qualify for Afrobasket 2025. Let us get behind this team and the NBBF. I believe we need a Coach that has a blueprint for Dtigers resurgence and the Coach can be Nigerian who has had enough experience coaching in Africa, Europe and the USA. Cheers.

Danielnino00:
The current corp of players are not that good.. I don't even know where they picked them from...

Anyway, they face Uganda later today and Cape Verde tomorrow... need to win both to stand any chance of qualification
This squad of Dtigers is not bad. I have googled these guys and some of them actually have enough experience to beat Uganda and Cape Verde. Our problem was not having a good or focused Coach in recent years- Since 2021. Coach Abdulrahman is a good Coach. Are you saying captain Ike Nwamu and Caleb Agada are not good players? Agada and Nwamu were in the squad that beat the USA Men's National team in 2021. Ike Nwamu played at Afrobasket 2017 for Nigeria where Dtigers won the Silver Medal. I think the current Coach was an Assistant Coach in that tourney. Christian Mekuwolu has also played for Nigeria before. Malik Abu and the other guys on the squad are no pushovers. What is going on is a rebuilding of Dtigers. Cheers.

AgricultureRe: Suggest crops Cows don't destroy for an aspiring farmer by Redman44(m): 4:15am On Feb 09, 2025
SouthernPlateau:
U see 1 thing I see almost every Nigerian doing is having a personal thought after recommendation, countering a suggestion. No matter what, any option listed above has an impact on reducing herder damages. For me plant pawpaw at 6feet spacing as a living fence, step in 2 weeks after the first sprouts are up by 2ft and make a second row but this time ur seeds will be sowed at the midpoint of d the first row, and the Third. The Cows head, or Belly will hook or cows have a habit of avoiding tight spaces. I'm inventing the Carica -Tertis War from the Plateau. When ur farm neighbours adopt and every other farmer adopts this 7month strategy, herders will be forced to follow a trade window. Now ur fence is money, ur farm has a higher degree of protection and finally a conversion of herders damage to herders farm door trade. Every farmer should land lock with papaya. If u don't want the fruits, get a machine saw and trim cut to 8ft and cross the fell stems to standing stems as barricade. I've started, I've told my fellow farmers I should be free of this cow wahala by this December and begin to focus well on productive agriculture. Just do it don't do that Nigerian antagonist thing abeg.
Very intelligent move . You have spoken well. Thanks.
