This ICC arrest warrant brouhaha is exposing hypocrisy amongst large swathes of the international community.

One minute a country's leadership is accusing the other of breaching international law and shielding fugitives. The next minute it hosts events and cannot guarantee the arrest of such persons intending to attend.

Kalulu44:
To many people still wondering why Osimhen hasn't been signed by big European clubs or even going for him.
No club is going to pay that release clause for a player who has 1yr remaining in his contract.
And if most of us should be truthful, Osimhen has an attitude problem which most of this top clubs coaches are trying to avoid.
Osimhen without doubt is among the top 5 strikers in the world but they're things these clubs are looking out for in him.
I maybe right or wrong but I those two reasons I listed up there maybe why.
This is the closest post to being right. Perhaps in hindsight he could have done everything to remain at Napoli and exhaust his contract at that club.

No matter how badly one is treated by management and disliked by the coach every squad player will have a shot at play sometime in the season due to a variety of reasons and for one Lukaku did not perform perform well consistently anyway.

Osimen will have started at least a third of the games without a doubt in my opinion and worked his way back to first team by this season.

But once you go out on loan, no matter how well you perform your transfer appeal disintegrates into the kind of complications we see. Hope it ends well for him.

Put the doubters, the naysayers and the vicious critics to bed by good governance and sound, actionable policies that better the lives of the people. That is the way.

But if nothing appears to have changed from the past government's you yourself criticized to the one you commandeer now, you simply cannot expect the people to be silent, lenient and passive.

The key is simply good governance. Tons of advice on new and positive courses of action have been offered by all and sundry in society since the government started but they appear to head to a singular direction and if it leads nowhere the knives will come out.

That is what I was saying previously. Everyone writes his own history in his favour for this purpose because we are not an inquisitive nation, a cerebral nation or a meticulous one for that matter.

Perhaps out media should write to the BBC to make one tof those Panorama programmes where facts are properly researched and thus history is pretty vivid.

Whatever the case my only concern is simple. To have a country in a state much worse than it was at the instance of the fight for democracy just makes a mockery of such efforts and questions the inner motives and motivation of the actors back then.

All I will say is that in this part of the world we are lucky....and equally unlucky perhaps in similar measures that history, truths, facts are left unresearched and barely documented.

So the brave, the strong and the boisterous have stepped in to write and rewrite them in whatever manner suits their pecuniary agendas.

One thing for sure is that the present state of Nigeria is the direct product of the collective effort of all the actors involved at one point and one time or the other and it is easy to summarize that they were all culpable.
Politics › Re: The Killers Of Kaduna Citizens Must Be Brought To Justice - Gov Uba Sani by Reference(m):
When there is no law the lacuna will be filled with law breakers. Hundreds of years ago in America it was the same thing.

Hinterland mob action against outlaws reigned until it descended to the infamy of raw vengeance with attendant innocent folks becoming victims.

This gave rise to the institution of law enforcement at the grass roots, the office of the Sheriff.

What the government in Washington could not do the people of California, Arizona, Texas were doing for themselves, establishing law and order on their streets and in their homesteads.

I repeat for the umpteenth time. People will continue to die needlessly and in large numbers until security through grassroots policing is institutionalized.

A police that is sworn to uphold the law and equiped to put an end to banditry, vigilantism and crass mob action where it occurs. That is State and Local government POLICE. Proper police.

Just as Washington was too far to California to guarantee effective security so is Plateau, Benue, Taraba, Zamfara, Lake Chad, Sambisa.....too far to Abuja as far as any criminal out here is concerned.

Once again, security is called 'net' action for a reason. There is the net that catches huge fishes in the ocean, Big, strong but with wide openings. Try that as your mosquito net and die with malaria. That is what Nigeria is doing with only one type of security structure for all it's challenges.

But your government could declare a public holiday so that folks could come out to 'welcome' Mr. President. The President that had done exactly same thing when out office in the past.

But I guess push back is also a constitutional right. As well as selective political amnesia.

Foreign Affairs › Re: In Just Six Days, Israel Has Changed The Middle East Forever. by Reference(m): 4:30pm On Jun 19, 2025
Warfare no matter how necessary is intrinsically devastating. There are no winners ultimately. And the middle east conflicts are far worse because they only fuel the cycle of violence, bloodshed and genocide.

Personally I sore wish there was a solution but those who know their Holy book know this carnage will probably continue until the end of time.

Not true? So what is the cost of a device that can fly 2,300 km? Mr. Too-know.

Let me add: even if we go gaga and max out their kamikaze drone to be $200k, the imbalance is out of this world against Israel $4m per unit interceptors.
That is just speculative information and you chose the lower of the unsure range of figures. The cost of devices are specific and the only specific figure of the Shahed 136 we have is that sold to Russia at 195,000 USD a piece. Granted profits, etc the difference is too unbelievable.

It has a fueled engine to fly it 2000 kilometres or 5 hours endurance to Israel, a guidance system, and a warhead. All this for just 20,000....when the cheapest ordinary 155mm artillery with a paltry range of only 30 kilometres will set you back at least 3,000 dollars.

Please it costs a lot more than 20,000 dollars except if it travelling by air cargo.

No single missile should be able to hit Israel if truly they had all the control of Iranian skies. The problem is u believe in western media too much. You do not want to listen to your enemy media, you can never have a unbiased opinion. Why then is USA trying so hard to involve themselves when Israel alone can finish Iran off within days?
Control of skies relates to air assets and air defence assets not missiles. It means an adversary can fly yhe length and breadth of the country unhindered.

Ask yourself why they went from 200 missiles a night to 20 or 30 missiles.

When Isreal continues to bomb the missiles launchers, you will tell us how thise stockpile of missiles will be launched.

Maybe na from your mouth
War is chess. You protect your precious pawns for as long as possible. If you go out too much too quickly.... 400 missiles a day is not sustainable even for the richest and most advanced economies on earth.

Iran will not be able to sustain the attacks into Israel at deadly levels for long.

Yes, they are.

An Iranian kamikaze drone cost only $20k, and Israel will need a $4m interceptor missile to take one out.
That is not true.
There is no 20k device that can fly 2,300 kilometres. Be a bit reasonable here abeg. This is simple reasoning.

Feudal nation where the word of the king is law and dissent is met with the gallows.

Is it not the same democracy we practice where some members of the US Republican party oppose action against Iran and some propose it despite the President Trump's position. Are they hounded and called names.

Same way some opposed his budget and even his trusted lieutenant Musk was not visited by the Secret service or invited to some gulag to 'explain' after all the rantings in the media.

Something in British democracy, German democracy, French democracy and all the nations we admire and aspire to. There is always opposing views on critical matters from every side including internally and their governments embrace them for broad based consultations for there lies wisdom.

Not here where leaders rather govern with the smallest number of inputs, where they try to cook five star meals with just one or two ingridients and so err and repeatedly fumble on important matters of state.

I will continue to say this. The job of a member of the House is amongst others to directly relate the state and condition of the people to government. They are the thermometer in the radiator of government policies and programs as it affects the working of the overall engine of state.

A sound engine system will flash warnings and sound alarms when there is temperature overload. In a sophisticated system it will then turn off the engine automatically to prevent damage. In the crude workings of Nigeria the system is bypassed or the thermometer removed with obvious consequences.

If they like let them not allow the alarms of societal stress to sound. The consequences will be clear.

Foreign Affairs › Re: Irans Supreme Leader: "We Are Not Killing Him Now" - Trump by Reference(m): 2:53am On Jun 18, 2025
Head of States do not target one another for assassination. It is an unwritten law in international relations. It sets a very dangerous, destabilizing precedent as no one on earth, no leader is beyond physical harm.

I would have thought the events that led to the outbreak of the second world war, the Rwanda genocide and other particularly brutal conflicts will have drawn a red line beyond which no nation and no individual will cross.

Let them not open a Pandoras Box. Leave that man alone and let his people do what they deem fit with him and his government.
Politics › Re: Benue Killings: CDS Seeks Training Of Youths As Vigilantes To Combat Insecurity by Reference(m): 9:09pm On Jun 17, 2025
Vigilantes instead of state and local government police.

Vigilantes so that the Federal government will still dictate to states on security matters.

Vigilantes instead of police so that their recruitment wil be of unlearned men that don't know their rights and responsibilities under the law.

Vigilantes instead of police so that they cannot and will not be properly equiped to counter heavily armed threats.

Vigilantes instead of police so that they cannot investigate and prosecute, they must pass through the Federal government.

And I can go on and on.
Security everywhere in the world is primarily handled by the police not some pseudo organisation that has no powers to investigate, apprehend and prosecute. Not some silly outfit that the law does not recognize. We are talking about life and death matters.

When folks come out to say that there is perhaps an agenda in the corridors of government that fuels these brazen, continuous acts of genocide one may wave it aside as crazy talk but how do you explain the fact that no one, absolutely no one in the corridors of Executive, Legislative or Judicial powers is not pressing, ranting, screaming and tearing their hair out for the establishment of state and local government police in Nigeria with tens of thousands dead in the past two decades

How can such a three hundred pound gorilla of a solution to this calamity be so missed, so unrecognizable as a real and immediate solution.

This country is just a mess. I cannot imagine that such a people who can be this hopeless in situation and hapless in solutions can exist on earth. I am absolutely disgusted at Nigeria.

Yes it does especially if you don't have AWF planes.... That can be in the sky in Israel and detect air defense batteries in Iran.... The types Ukraine destroyed couple of weeks ago in Russia.... Yankee started all air operations from Gulf war to recent ones at night.... Once the major assets have been taken out, it becomes easier to run day time operations... Yes ballistic missiles can run anytime but at what cost?
How. Night or day doesn't affect radar the mainstay of air defenses. It doesn't affect satellite transmissions, the mainstay of data linkages between command and control and the assets in play.

It doesn't matter in modern warfare anymore. The F-35 the main strike component of the IDF's interdiction mission over Iran is is virtually unlockable to radar so far so it doesn't matter when they fly.
Foreign Affairs › Re: Why Does Iran Launch Missiles At Night? by Reference(m): 10:49am On Jun 17, 2025

Israel is mostly with Jets.... So jets works best with night cover so radar of the air defense system doesn't pick the movement.... Also since Iran is limited, that is they don't want to use their jets cuz of a possible showdown with America... They will depend heavily for now on their missiles...
Night or day doesn't matter in modern day combat.
