Originalsly:No radio, no backup. No rapid response. There is a reason security is called 'network'. This should not be happening. I have said it countless, countless, countless times. In terms of operations, a pair of airborne special forces squads in each of the frontline states for a maximum of thirty minutes to any hot spot comprising of one helicopter gunship and one armoured helicopter troop carrier. This mess has got to end. |
What did I just read. '..,.A future where a person can see in infrared, ultraviolet and even radar like vision....' This man is crazy....what da f......this man is dangerous....what next....humans can have x-ray vision installed like software options ...now that is the stuff of dreams.. ... don't tell me what I want x-ray vision for, just start looking for lead lined knickers to buy.....crazy Elon, we love it. |
Never used any Apple product. Am I missing anything. |
When you become a safari guide, believe you me the fear of lions and wilderbeasts becomes dulled. You see them differently....because you see them every day Ordinarily I will be so shocked to my bones at this split personality one could almost think he was playing some sort of Nollywood role. But if you have been on this Safari called Nairaland as long as I have then the sight and smell of hippos....sorry hypos is as routine as sunrise and set. The most famous animal of them all...fuel subsidy protests back in 2012 featured on this Safari for weeks, then the elegant Sai Baba giraffe that admirers have since 'poached' to extinction.... The poachers are plenty here. No need to name names. They know themselves including and especially one who deals in exotic braai.... ![]() |
Bitters, herbs, fake medications, proliferation of energy drinks....and on and on. |
I am not interested, excited or impressed by any of these claims of escalating income to government just as I will shake my head at a fisherman who claims to have bought a bigger net but with more holes in it. I rather just pity both. If you heard the report of the watchdog (can't remember the organisation right now) on an Abuja Radio station yesterday detailing the disgusting, repulsive and outrageous case of budget padding and financial recklessness, you will just pray that the income of government reduces to zero. That is absolutely zero. A billion allocated to buying musical instruments for churches in the Bende area of Abia state...and the Legislator admitted it to be true but said the amount was closer to 700 million or so.... amongst so many, so many outrages. Look eh, if you are a taxpayer and this reprobate government comes your way that you are not paying enough tax and it is you stifling the progress of this country, if I were you, I will give that fellow a sound smack to the face. I have said it ENDLESSLY. Gowon admitted it half a millennia ago. Nigeria DOES NOT HAVE AN EARNINGS PROBLEM. IT HAS A SPENDING, SPENDING, SPENDING problem. I have just come off a thread about rail line to Nigeria with dodgy economic value while the country suffers from high costs of transport internally due to scant investment. All due to subsidy removal. Just misplaced spending all over the place. It is heart wrenching. Abeg they should carry their increased revenue tales away from our faces and go present them to toddlers. |
Dogalmighty17:The economics are just dreadful. There will likely be more economic impact in the section between Kano and Kaduna that the rest to the Niger Republic. However I like what I see on those tracks, freight cars. This is one huge economic force multiplier that will save money and lives in the long run. Boy, I have enjoyed this country. Can you imagine I have travelled by train from Kano to Zaria, Zaria to Minna, Zaria to Jos (switch), Zaria to Makurdi, multiple times. I have also done the Lagos to Ibadan much earlier one or twice if memory serves me right. Never done the core Eastern line though....enjoyed them all. |
lionshare:So what do you want Donald to do after leaving office. Were they his personal properties. He identified tourism as a lynchpin of the future economy particularly when the state's primary natural resource was lost to Akwa Ibom and the. Cameroun respectively. He invested in the physical infrastructure of tourism in hotels, the Ranch, events centres, conference centres, airstrips.... He invested in the human capacity side of tourism through the annual glamour and cultural parades and pageantry which brought in international recognition, investments and hard currency in incomes to the point that some business concerns made up 100 percent of their yearly revenue during that two week window. And even after his departure he continued to be an ambassador.... All his successors needed to do was to maintain them, evolve them, enhance them. All the people needed to do was to guarantee them by advocacy to ensure continuity and growth and today the state might have become an island of prosperity because the state is naturally endowed with quietness and peace. Please, Donald Duke was a cut above most of his contemporaries and all of his successors. A real visionaire....that had the misfortune of leading a pack of sheep. |
Raxxye:Nigeria cannot do that. Nigeria does not deserve such people. Poor quality citizens cannot generate good quality leadership. We did not get here by mistake. |
nairalanda1:You have come again. I am telling you I pay more for electricity than the average Indian or Chinese. Countries that have little to no fossil fuels but import everything they need at market rate. Countries that have electricity demand 1,000, 2,000 times ours which means prices there should be high yet. So how are they able to keep their electricity costs under control and ours is like a dog chasing it's tail. They say they withdraw subsidies every six months yet the withdrawal is never ending. And I consider very seriously what the poster stating corruption has been trying by to say which you have consistently ignored though you unnoticeably acknowledged. How do we know that all these debts are clean and real and not as bogus, phoney and stinky as the fuel subsidy debts where empty tankers posing as legitimate fuel cargoes were invoiced. How are we sure there is no massive over invoicing of gas supplies to the GENCOS who might be in cahoots to milk the Federal government and price gouge the public. So like the fuel subsidy heist they put a gun to the head of the public to force us to demand for so called subsidies and the government then pays for what never happened. |
Hmmmm.....N50 for 10 pieces.....the name is, 'can't be good'. Even candy isn't that cheap. |
Whoever you don't fancy. Meat, particularly beef is not healthy in quantites larger than a maggi cube. |
We have oil, we have gas for thermal. We have vast arid lands in the far north for solar. All the water running through rivers in much of West Africa and the Cameroun highlands to the east meet and flows through the centre of Nigeria to avail us unlimited hydro potential not found anywhere else outside Aswan and the Congo. We have coal, we have uranium. What else does this silly, frustrating country want to have cheap, reliable power. Yet I pay more for power than the Chinese and the Indian which have far more people and industries to feed. |
Never left. The place he left was a tragicomedy. |
Reverse to where. You think they have not anticipated that move and flanked the exit. That is where the guns are probably lined up. Chsnces are they are not mobile so run through and lose your tyres. But you should manage your speed to avoid losing your rims. Chances are that you will find cover before they catch up. |
favor914:Wow,...just wow. You mean he really doesn't know what to do. So what do you folks discuss in your meetings.....I mean all these party men, party faithful. So you mean you never discuss the country, the country's challenges and the solutions to these challenges. If the government doesn't listen to.you folks his family, friends and faithful followers, who will he listen to, his adversaries, his political enemies...? You folks often say that Nigeria has no functional opposition. Yes it doesn't. But equally worse, Nigeria has no functional political followership, just yesmen and henchmen. In other climes ideas germinate within political parties. That is the crucible of movements that select leadership. The party is always bigger than the person. The best person to execute the party's agenda is selected or elected to lead. Here you folks support who you cannot control. Who you cannot advise, who you cannot offer your own ideas....as partymen you end up depending on the opposition to advise and direct government to do well...so funny. |
It is the acid test of a dictatorial regime and the personality of an autocrat. When the foundation of your government is not the people you are characteristically defensive at their sight. That is why governments should engage with the people frequently. Communication is the license and registration. Solidarity is fuel. Empathy is key. Then you can take the people for a ride. When you want to take the so called 'hard decisions' the rate of your engagement goes way higher than in normal times. It is common sense. In hard times a family man talks more with his wife, is more than friendly with the kids, and not only does he advertise every single effort of his to get things better, but he promotes HIS OWN sacrifices so that those after him can see a working example of how to make things better. That is just common sense. He doesn't lock himself away from his loved ones, alienate his family only to hang out with the 'lads' who care less and then is offended by anyone who comes to tell him at his favorite joint or pub that the kids are hungry. Please Nigerians in the future, elect responsible and RESPONSIVE leaders into power. Those who put YOU at the front, first and centre of their agendas. A leader of THE PEOPLE should be the minimum qualification standards of this democracy. |
waice6571:Can't say one of the safest overall. Just say within the transportation industry. |
brain54:Not significant at all. That is not what I meant. They chase after areas, regions, locations, facilities that emit high radiation. The reason why pilots encounter them more often is simple, they fly as well. |
Cardinal sin. FIFA will tell you, 'Donot bring politics into the game'. 'Donot mix politics with sports'.....then they go ahead and do exactly that.,..to unbelievably sacrilegious degrees.... Who will Infantino confess to now... |
noskcid:Stopped going there since December last year, 8 months ago due to the state of the road(s). But that is a while ago so I cannot comment. But I sure won't be deceived until factually proven. There is no money for auto maintenance due to online misinformation or not. |
Fair enough. Looks like sound organisation. |
Not worth commenting on. Failed state. |
Even if they were partisan which they are not, this should not come from a regime that has taken religious divisions to the extreme. It has anchored its existence on its public claim THAT IT HAS.TO FIELD a similar faith candidacy. That it will not win by trying to be religiously equitable. So it's acts of survival hinges on playing the religious card to it's full advantage. What moral right does such a government have of accusing anyone else of peddling religion for power. Fairness dictates the other parties and their candidates okay the same 'dirty' game by whatever means they have. It is hypocrisy to expect otherwise. It is unfair to fear the feelings of the people of one faith but make light work of the feelings of the other, in this case the Catholic faith in particular. |
Heffalump:UFO's to be more precise. Those things love following after radiation sources. |
I am not worried about these ones. They have institutions to handle extremists ever guarded by a vigilant citizenry. And as a liberal society feudalism appears in far too low concentrations to be a threat to society. Over there you can bribe judges but you cannot buy them. Have you considered your country for a s fond in this regards....hmmm...you will be gobsmacked. |
Ironfaceman:So you don't want Christians in Nigeria to have peace from Jihadists. Exactly what do you mean. |
Those words are rather too harsh. I do not support this kind of statement. Anyway I don't do personalities. I do acts of governance and the repercussions on the nation. Yes he has a dodgy past and sticky fingers but I am not a Sowore whose words pull so much traction. |
I'm at work right now. No time for this rubbish. Maybe later in the day. |
tegrianonigltd:My brother you can't say more. When I eventually retire I will certainly spend the rest of my days in the best run country in the world. I have only one life to live. Cannot expend it never seeing a better tomorrow, groaning under selfish leaders and with ignorant co citizens. It won't happen. |
Ahayalift:I made a long list of sectors government should be investing in for massive job creation using the resources of the people themselves to establish them. But three and a half years later. Nothing. Once a while they throw money at a few people and call that economic stimulus. No policy, no vision, no diretion. I have said it countless times. The hope of this government is that you and I adjust to the reality of austerity, of grinding poverty and find a away to still lay the golden egg they need to satisfy their contractor friends and family. They have no plan whatsoever for the kind of economic recovery you and I understand as a recovery, the kind other nations have achieved out of downturns. You work, they benefit. Classic feudalism. |
Great to see Jesus being magnified at the highest levels of man's greatest pastime. |
