But why are ya all blaming the patrons imstead of those selling smoke. There are free zoos and parks all over the world some owned by government, others by private guys that just do conservation and wish people come see their work, etc That you advertise a zoo, collect money and then display piss poor sculptures....must be the slight-of-hand of the century. Just call the place an art gallery or park or whatever...gosh, this country. |
Hahahahaha....when you think you have seen it all, boom another incredulous incredulity....hahahaha..... ![]() Honestly we should be making world news of strange and unusual happenings evey day of the week and twice on Saturday....abeg where is ol Willy Shatner...... In other thoughts perhaps they are just toeing the ecological, green, conservation revolution....you know with the way Africans are eating up their wildlife that is the closest our ancestors will get to the real thing.....hahahahaha.. PS, next time they should get quality sculptors. If they cannot afford much ABU Zaria has one of the finest Fine Arts departments in all Africa...to lend a hand.. |
Hahahaha...politics eh....it can make or maka why.... ...Infidel, infidelity...hmmm... Reminds me of one of our coursemates back then called Fidel. Was so naughty he was renamed 'Infidel' and it stuck so th baton is handed over to....naughty Lere...the infidel. Now he has bought for himself a new tag for 2026/26 season of media mud slugging. |
So much security rumpus around our elections like it is some terror target or something. You go to other places and see people voting, you'd think they were queuing at a diner or to enter into a concert hall. And some of these countries got their independence just 35, 40 years ago, long after ours. Half of Europe, the Eastern half did not know any form of democracy in all of their history till 1991, 92 to 1995, long after our previous democratic experiments in the 60's and 80's failed. Yet they tried and got it right first time and very quickly and today are civilized, multiparty democracies. When are we going to grow as a nation....27 years of these absurdities and getting worse by the polls. |
Knows very little about wind and wind loading. The next thunderstorm season will be school opening time. |
Gosh, this is just terrible. A tragedy indeed. RIP to the fallen and condolences to the security services. It will end some day. |
wellmax:Government policy is directly responsible for the high operational costs of ALL businesses in Nigeria at the moment except government contractors that tender at whatever price they like In the real economy the cost of doing business is just out of the window and this affects enterprises budget for manpower compensations. Wages are not tracking inflation in any way shape or form. If the average worker presently in debt to meet his obligations on a month to month basis, there is no way resistance will not build somewhere Bring down inflation or step aside for people who are comitted to the people. |
Said it before. I won't end my daysin this country. I have served it. It has served me. But I have only one lifetime and I will end it in a country, a society at my own terms. This cannot be my only experiences. It is so sad. |
Media bait. I think we should introduce a quick IQ test at the polls before elections begin. Those who pass proceed to the booths, while those who fail are given the campaign contributions and led home. |
'Town-halling' shouldn't be a pre election event alone, it should rather be a democratic lifestyle, a tool of governance throughout the rule of the elected. |
What I like about this development is more about the process than the project. FIRST, they held a stakeholders meeting, obviously to discuss, deliberate and rub minds together, obviously with both leaders and the med in attendance. That is how to.run a developmental based democracy. Not shunning the people and th n throwing money at contractors to do as they please. When all stakeholders are involved then society as a whole is committed to the success of the project right down to it's implementation. Even taxation becomes easier. |
hatchy:Cement fiber.... Though it is called asbestos, there is no asbestos in it. Asbestos is banned throughout the world as a very dangerous carcinogen. |
They say you are not paying enough tax. Then see what they do with the so called 'little' they have. So as you faithfully pay your taxes, you as a citizen are inadvertently sponsoring terrorism....that is if you cannot hold government accountable and direct the way they spend YOUR MONEY. If you cannot, you are complicit. |
Doesn't matter. Government should be a continuum. Buhari commissioned and took credit for projects initiated before his time and the next President will take credit for developments Mr. Tinubu will not be able to commission. |
WatchYourSix:Oh...well, too bad. Better luck to her next time. We should stop this ethnic bickering. It is a solid glass ceiling. |
I used to love watching David Letterman on the 'Tonight Show' up until his retirement. It was advertised as 'Live from New York'. I didn't care to know where in New York'. It never mattered. When are we going to grow in this country. Just ridiculous. |
Babangidapikin:That is what thick headed Nigerians cannot seem to grasp. What works will keep working. If we keep on collecting they will deepen and accelerate the 'weaponization'. We the people are not giving them any incentive, any carrot or stick to repair this economy and the fortunes of this country. Said it many, many, many times. Democracy works like a force field and you hold your elected office holder in a flux. If he begins to fail you immediately switch to the other, if that fails you switch, based only on deliverables. If he is not working for you, eject him and bring the other person in, no sentiment, no stories, no excuses. If what we have been doing since 1999 is right, why is this country not already developed. Is 27 years not enough to turn the tide. |
givedemwotowoto:Not only normalizing but institutionalizing crime. The EFCC wanted to move against the State's finances and almost everyone was up in arms when it was clear as daylight what the governor was doing with the resources of state. I don't think we have it in us to change the course of this country. . |
seunmsg:So politics in Nigeria is trade by barter. I serve you to get personally rewarded. Now I understand the motivation behind some of the unbelievable positions on this forum. It's all business.....not about the people. Some of you folks don't care one bit the situation of your country. It's al political contracting. That is why in the 27th year of 5th Republic democracy we are still talking about the basics for what makes for life and decent living. The thermometer of development remains a flat zero. Honestly, contracting wil be the fall of this country. Money, money, money... |
Predictor3:But you can smell it and it is bound to smell bad to attract those vermin. Disgusting.... But on a realistic note. If you eat out frequently you are bound to be eating something an insect had trodden, spat and soiled on...or with cutlery and other wares used in s rving those foods you love. |
Well, after reeling out statistics the attempt to whitewash government waste in addressing the elephant in the room: 'Where is all the money going' Is this man a technocrat or politician. Does he work for the President or for Nigerians. Will you see his equivalent in the UK or the US or Germany or Japan bend so low to kiss ass. So much for professionalism. |
Someone wants to block opposing views aka 'bitter people'. From what I have seen above. He has his work cut out. And when he cuts, we will have a virtually empty thread...because the facts are the facts.... So, they can be 'snap shotting' all they like. The beggars are multiplying. The vandals are more daring. The kidnappers are more demanding. And the market women are performing miracles, multiplying five loaves and two fishes...or is it raising dead fish to life...just to feed 55 million hungry... |
I cannot over emphasize it enough. When the economy tanks, HSE, Health, Safety and the Environment suffers. Painted fish - No consideration for Health, Vandalizing infrastructure - No consideration for Safety Beggars closing businesses - Environmental disorder. Common denominator or as they say, the bottom line, gross economic failure. EVERYONE SUFFERS. |
Princedapace:They gaslight you that you are not paying enough. Then they throw it all away. How many times will I say that spending, not earning is the problem if this country. Nothing, absolutely nothing in this country's finances is without graft. How much does it take to develop this country that these people in government haven't seen, but it is never, ever enough for wasters. |
maasoap:So a nutshell you are saying Mr. Tinubu is not Muslim enough and Christians in the north are not northern enough... exactly what is the point here because what you say here is in the portfolio of what the Sheikh meant...that Christians are irrelevant in this country as far as politics at the highest levels is concerned. |
By the number of pages so far you know this is a sensitive topic to the establishment and her teeming fans who will have flooded this page if it was another party in the spotlight and the other candidate involved. Imagine calling believers of another religion infidels in the presence of officials of government. What else is there to say. Who else can do such things without repercussions particularly media backlash |
Like electricity, like air travel. Too expensive for the Nigerian to afford without radical business models. They are just status symbols, not successful enterprises. |
Tenses:Well this is a topic for another day. The relationship between the economy, poverty and the environment is more that clear and I have spoken about this for years. Once again, when an economy tanks HSE instantly responds. Health, Safety and the Environment suffers. A few topics ago it was about painted fish, yesterday it was about scavenging. The result of both acts is certain death and disaster. Our leaders are not conscious of this fact. They start economic fires in the harmattan to as they intend, to clear the farm for planting but the fires end up consuming everything. If you don't fight inflation in this case to be specific and poverty runs out of control people will get desperate enough to do unbelievable things to survive. It is not a moral question. It is a life's lesson one. |
'....To prevent it from collapsing....' ![]() It is already collapsed. There is nothing that can be done about that bridge than to tear it down.... Just a monumental waste of resources. |
ufotunang:We then, he certainly doesn't have a choice out of the reason why he needs the rice in the first place. He hasn't found a choice since 1999 so his situation continues to deteriorate. |
LordLicifer:It is so terrible. A person will govern for four solid years with scant little and at the end bring out leftovers and the puppies will be yapping excitedly. |
If he is a good man, why is he sharing rice. They share rice to the peons and then share trillions in contracts to their overlords. Show me where Chagoury campaigned with bread crumbs. |
