spencekat:Not too sure. Arsenal has lost its early season defensive solidity. Both highly mobile wingbacks Timber and Cali are out injured. Saliba is running on fumes and Gabriel is just not himself these days. Atletico on the other hand has completely lost its defensive DNA. This season it has been shipping in goals regularly. Aging players, and a gaffer that has reached soccer menopause after many productive years in the dugout. |
Angelfrost:Absolutely. Defence wins trophies....attacks only win matches. |
Angelfrost:Osimen that wants the ball early and regularly. Na fight with Odegaard and Saka every match... ![]() |
Angelfrost:They bought one of the hottest strikers in Europe last season and turned him into Teletubby. Now they want another. Abeg Arteta should lay down his manifesto before anyone should listen to him. He is not using his players properly. When you buy a top rated talent for a lot of money it is the club that has to adjust, not the player. Barca bought Lewa from Bayern and had to drop their nonsense false 9, and he has scored a bucket load of goals for them. Bayern bought Kane from Tott and had to reorganise the team Jamal Musiala's position being the casualty. Arsenal has bought striker after striker, season after season yet Arteta will not wean himself off the tippy tappy, arc of death that absolutely bores any top 9. Osimen that is an all action, shoot and ask questions later will have to bring his camp bed and bedtime storybooks to the field every match day. |
Treasure17:To co e and so what. Arsenal should not waste his time until they get a better tactician. |
Once it becomes a free for all, it becomes a buyers market. Meaning the end of stability and the end of protection for smaller producers such as Nigeria. |
But they say they will campaign on a successful infrastructure implementation. The question now is, what infrastructure are they successfully investing in. |
LabStores:It was a very public event, a gathering of very many popular figures. He charged towards them and you expect the security men to open fire in the direction of that crowd.... The dias where the President and top cabinet members and guests were seated was quickly surrounded and the security men took positions facing the crowd in case anyone else came through. The event, the people present and the circumstantial outcome could have been a lot worse if security was not well trained and highly experienced. Not a single case of collateral damage or as we say here 'accidental discharge' despite the fact of hundreds of firearms present and thousands of rounds of live ammunition. |
There is only one tribe in this country. It is called Nigerian and there is only one language we speak, pidgin. Case closed. You guys want something so badly, a united, working country but cannot summon the fortitude to grasp it. Unity in diversity is a scam. |

It is always about the money. That is all what they are about. Money, money and more money. Everything else they say and do ends there. |
Seriously poor judgement. How can a broke country, running an epileptic economy have as it's biggest infrastructural investment a coastal road. So befuddling It has not invested such in power, ignored it completely. It has not revived it's moribund refineries or sought to establish new ones to hedge against global energy shocks. It is not investing in industrial output of any kind to create jobs. It has not even sought to expand the rail transport system to get the heavy duty trucks off the many highways they ruin with oversized cargo. Somewhere, somehow, someone woke up one certain day and thought to himself. A highway from Calabar to Lagos and another one from Sokoto to Badagry is the silver bullet that will usher in economic prosperity. So let us not only put all our treasure there but let us sell the shirts off our backs. Madam, may they not run your company the way Nigeria is being driven today. |
Dangote is an institution above unions (that Nigerians have disarmed, above regulators (that Nigerians have intimidated into silence). So enjoy the ride. If you will not learn from the worked examples of how other countries supervise industry, you will all learn the hard way. But please make sure you don't go buying adulterated kero to send us back to the dark days of the air crashes of the late 90's. |
Freetech:Don't mind them. They are the 'consultants' and 'contractors' bugging this economy. They will soon write one sweet proposal to the government and become billionaires overnight. |
Here they come again. Cash to the vulnerable = EFCC pantomime by 2027. Please save us the drama and hit the problem at source - Investment and production. That is the only way to put a handle on external economic headwinds. During COVID I learnt to cut my own hair. I didn't grow a Wole Soyinka just because of a virus. We can produce all we need if we spend right and exercise ourselves in independent thoughts and actions irrespective of what is happening elsewhere. |
Whatever. So repulsive. Even in ultra liberal countries this will be roundly condemned. This is demeaning to all.those involved. Should beve happen again. As for the citizens. This is what you get for being fodder. Remember that you are the employer and they are your employees. Remember who is in charge and who should be serving. |
Adblg0610:Please stop this fallacy. We are talking of value you are talking about integration as if the northwest is presently cutoff from the southwest or as if Calabar is presently inaccessible from Lagos. Please be informed. If you want economic changing infrastructure the first transportation investment should be expanding and modernizing the rail system. For that vision of linking the extreme regions of the country running a rail line from Sokoto to Badagry and Calabar to Lagos will have been a far, far better strategic decision. * Rail lines are far easier to maintain. * They convey far more passengers and goods per unit cost. * Rail lines are typically shorter in distance due to technical requirements. * Rail lines are far less encumbered by obstructions, checkpoints and encroachment. * Whenever the country then decides to transition to high speed rail, the speeds attainable far exceed that of any road transport and are comparable to hub to hub air travel in many parts of the world. We need proper public debates on what our vision is and how our country decides to strategically develop. It cannot be left in the hands of a handful of people how our scare resources are expended. |
Predictor3:A case of lack of integrity. Saying things you have no intention of doing, social agreements you have no intention of respecting. The last regime blamed COVID, this regime is now blaming Iran/US conflicting as if there is anytime in the world where governments have it all smooth sailing. |
keemsleek:Na so. Every government and it's propaganda. When the next government comes it will downgrade that 6003 claimed and set it's own records. Why not let the patrons decide how sweet the soup you serve in your restaurant is. Who will boldly say power has improved as dramatically as those figures suggest despite paying nearly triple the tariffs over the past decade. |
Ofunaofu:That is not what the average pollster who cannot relate his electoral choices to the quality of governance he will expect. It is all about the money. By now the pollster will be licking his lips on how much he will receive in selling his vote while the governor will be in negotiations with his company of contractors on how to share the resources to buy white elephants....of course before they sign the cheques to sponsor his quest. |
Kai, this is terrible. But service providers should do better in terms of packaging even if it costs a bit more, particularly for food items. Use shrink wrapping or place seals on the packs. And please consumers, the very least you can do for yourself is to send ordered hot foods straight into the microwave..,.just terrible. |
eagleonearth:Well that is the result of not having state or in this case local government police. What is vigilante. Get institutions that swear to uphold the law in place. The vigilante owes you nothing. They are commercial workers and will work for a fee. If insurance worked properly in this country that company will have the goods, the truck and the mission insured and even if you forget to dial for police intervention or feel as an individual you will not receive help, your insurance company will alert the police as soon as you inform them of the accident. We have a long way to modernizing our society. We suffer too many things because we cannot bring ourselves to organise ourselves. Compensations are not things to be negotiated in police stations, but by competent, professional representatives under the umbrella of the courts. |
What is all this. That is the reason for insurance. Why are we so disorganised, so lawless in this country. We fight for the wrong things. Fight for a working, functional, equitable society of law, order and justice and relax. See insurance adverts in SA. Companies falling over themselves to offer all manner of incentives, some including a complimentary vehicle while you wait for the claims to be resolved. Don't we desire to see ease and function in our country. |
Reloadedisraelp:That is how we roll. The present government is under pressure by contractors for foreign loans to implement white elephants disguised as 'critical infrastructure'. It is all about interests and to settle political scores, government mercantilism. |
Antoeni:What has he said concerning this matter. This is the time to lay out your plans to be taken seriously. My idea of government is service delivery. |
Antoeni:Please stop showing this. It is terribly degrading.... please. |
wonlasewonimi:He was staying in the hotel so he had a pass to the event. It is a press event so security is always a lot less because of what the event is about. Freedom, free speech and the openness of government. That to me for a government so riled and disliked around the world is a potential flash point. And like the President said, there is the need to get the White House facilities done so it can be an inhouse event. Liberty has its sacrifices, and leadership that wants to maintain those liberties will come in danger. |
We don't want any step down. There should be a contest, a fair, free contest of ideas and principles so that the cream can rise to the top. This is not a monarchy where heirs abdicate. No candidate is better or more superior than the other on face value. It is what they sell that will either put them in good stead or disqualify them. |
Kemetian:That is what a government is also for. To plan for such exigencies. Is it a sin that we cannot produce our own fertilizer from the same oil and gas we have. So you can protect your elected leaders all you like and defend failure but you will still spend more of your hard earned money on basics and get poorer in the process. Wars are a part of humanity and have existed since the creation of the world and wars in the middle east have occured with such predictable regularity that every regime has experienced the benefits of high energy prices including this one. Ask them what they are using the excess, the receipts above the budget rate for. |
Bizmind95:Well they have encircling the capital for months and layed siege to it while they built up forces. I cannot understand why the military was not able to break this siege and counter attacked before the rebel plans were complete. What is very clear is that West Africa is under threat from ISIS and if a whole country falls the ripple effect all over the contingent state will be massive. We better get the west involved on time as we are not resourced or equiped to handle this threat. |
Inspirer1:The man is in support of violence wherever it suits his bias and narrative no matter who is causing it without a care for the victims. How can one justify this mindless violence against a state just because the government is a military junta and a political decision to exit ECOWAS. Started well on this forum but has degenerated into a vindictive fellow. Just sad. |
discusant:Ah, ah, as if you don't know the politics. Why do you think the electricity Bands were created. They know where the troublemakers live, those who can call them out, and they know where the peons live, those who cannot trouble them. Those who will ask 'how high' when government asks then to jump....and they give them nothing. And as long as they know we citizens donot have horizontal relationships, do not care about our fellow citizens, they are okay. I scream about the need to invest in power every day. But my personal reality is that I have power, I will say 23 hours a day in my area. I only experience power loss when the national grid fails but I know that is not the experience round about Abuja thoughtless of the rest of the country and I know the cost of power has crushed many households and businesses even when available even though I personally afford it. So it is clear that this government's priorities are somewhere else. It has completely neglected to invest to provide and to reduce the cost of energy because it cannot see that it is as critical as fuel to power the economy. |
